How do I read or change TimeStamp in log files?
We have deployed BIPublisher 10.1.3.4 EAR into OC4J container. I am seeing the following timestamp in BI log files..
[010909_032352774][][STATEMENT] [org.quartz.jobStore.isClustered]=[false]
[010909_032352774][][STATEMENT] [org.quartz.jobStore.misfireThreshold]=[60000]
[010909_032352774][][STATEMENT] [org.quartz.threadPool.threadCount]=[10]
[010909_032352774][][STATEMENT] [org.quartz.jobStore.driverDelegateClass]=[org.quartz.impl.jdbcjobstore.oracle.OracleDelegate]
[010909_032352774][][STATEMENT] [org.quartz.dataSource.myDS.driver]=[oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver]
[010909_032352774][][STATEMENT] [org.quartz.jobStore.dataSource]=[myDS]
I can understand the first part 010909 as the date but I don't know how to read 032352774 value. Nothing is specified in the documentation. I am seeing this timestamp in the log file under OPMN Logs folder. I am not sure why Debug info goes here instead of application.log file.
Your help is greatly appreciated..
Thanks!
Srini
The timestamp more than likely comes from a Java class using a form of UTC timestamp format. Sometimes the UTC format, at the end SSS part is based on StDZ, or portion of a second and the timezone desigator. The timezone/timestamp format is embedded where BIP gets initialized. It is possible to de-code EAR/WAR/JAR files and find the date format method, but then you are altering source code and that has support implications. In the big scheme of things, no big deal.

How do I read the Windows 7 backup log file (.etl).
I tried Windows 7 backup yesterday and it took over 5 hours to complete. When it did it used about 135GB of my backup drive which is okay, but when I looked a the backup drive, I found a couple directories that backup created. One had over 2000 .zip files in it. Is this how Custom backup works?
I also had another folder with teh Image backup data.
I decided I didn't like it so I deleted the backups, but now I would like to look at the log file. How do I do this? When I navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\WindowsBackup I see a WindowsBackup.2.etl file. When I double click on this I get the popup saying Windows 7 does not know what to do with this file. There is no way to look at the log from the Windows Backup window that I can see either.
A Google search did not turn up anything useful.RichHi Ztruker,
Windows backup creates .zip files to store file backups and a VHD format to store image backups. Is there a reason why you are bothered with this format? To browse through the contents of the file backups, you could launch the restore files dialog and browse/search. To navigate through the image backup, you can mount the VHD through Disk Management. This is of course, if you have a backup. Unfortunately, backup does not create a user-readable log. The etl files are meant for product tracing in the case of failures and are for Microrosft use. Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Sneha

How to configure IPS 4240 - K9 to send log file to syslog server
I am looking for the commands in how to configure IPS 4240-k9 to send log file to SYSLOG server. If anybody has or came across similer issue please advice.
Thanks in advanced.Ali -
I am sorry to tell you, but the Cisco IPS Sensors do not send Syslog messages. Your only options for sending signature event information are:
SDEE (an TLS Encrypted XML formatted message) the sensor is the SDEE Host and your event receiver (MARS, IME, Intelitactics, etc) is the client.
SNMP Traps - You need to set the "Action" on each signature you want the sensor to send a trap.

How can I keep the orignial timestamp on imported files?
I am "importing" a lot of files into Oracle Files (we are using OCS 9 rel 2) by mapping up a disk in Oracle Drive and using Robocopy (utility from Microsoft, "xcopy on steroids"). I see that all the original timestamps on the files are not kept. Also, all files naturally gets my name under "last edited by".
If I use the same program to copy to a local disk the timestamps are kept for the files but not for the directories.
I would like to keep the original timestamps and also change the "last edited by" name to something that shows it is from the import, like System or filesadmin.
Is this possible?You could write an AppleScript. but it will be easier to get and use a third-party file renaming utility. I use the freeware NameChanger which works quite well.

How to append timestamp to log file in SQL*Plus ?
Version: 11.2.0.3
Platform : RHEL 5.8 (But I am looking for platform independant solution)
I want to append the timestamp to spooled log file name in SQL*Plus.
The spooled log filename should look like
WMS_APP_23-March-2013.logI tried the following 3 methods found in the google. But none of them worked !
I tried this
col sysdt noprint new_value sysdt_var
SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'yyyymmdd_hh24miss') sysdt FROM DUAL;
spool run_filename_&sysdt_var.Logas suggested in
http://power2build.wordpress.com/2011/03/11/sqlplus-spool-name-with-embedded-timestamp/
and this
spool filename with timestamp
col sysdt noprint new_value sysdt
SELECT TO_CHAR(SYSDATE, 'yyyymmdd_hh24miss') sysdt FROM DUAL;
spool run_filename_&sysdt..Logas suggested in
http://powerbuildev.wordpress.com/2011/03/11/sqlplus-spool-name-with-embedded-timestamp/
and this
column tm new_value file_time noprint
select to_char(sysdate, 'YYYYMMDD') tm from dual ;
prompt &file_time
spool logfile_id&file_time..logas suggested in
Creating a spool file with date/time appended to file name
None of the above worked in RHEL or MS DOS. Any workaround ?I have tested your suggestions. But I still couldn't append the date to the logfile in RHEL or MS DOS SQL*Plus
Here are the attempts I've made. I am posting how the logfile looked like after every test.
#Attempt1 with two dots (&sysdate..log )
set echo on
set feedback on
set define off
set pages 999
column dcol new_value SYSDATE noprint
select to_char(sysdate,'YYYYMMDD') dcol from dual;
spool testlog.&sysdate..log
select 'hello' from dual;
spool off;Log File Name -- > testlog.&sysdate..log
#Attempt2 with single dot (&sysdate.log)
set echo on
set feedback on
set define off
set pages 999
column dcol new_value SYSDATE noprint
select to_char(sysdate,'YYYYMMDD') dcol from dual;
spool testlog.&sysdate.log
select 'hello' from dual;
spool off;Log File Name ---> testlog.&sysdate.log
#Attempt3. Replacing first dot with Hyphen (testlog- ) to check if the first dot was causing the issue
set echo on
set feedback on
set define off
set pages 999
column dcol new_value SYSDATE noprint
select to_char(sysdate,'YYYYMMDD') dcol from dual;
spool testlog-&sysdate.log
select 'hello' from dual;
spool off;Log Filename: testlog-&sysdate.log
#Attempt4: replacing SYSDATE with SDATE
set echo on
set feedback on
set define off
set pages 999
column dcol new_value SDATE noprint
select to_char(sysdate,'YYYYMMDD') dcol from dual;
spool testlog1.&SDATE..log
select 'hello' from dual;
spool off;Log File Name -- > testlog1.&SDATE..log -
How do I reopen and change an existing pdf file
I have pdf files in acrobat.com
I want to make changes to an existing file.
Can you do this or do you have to rewrite the whole file?Hi donk58183198,
You can edit files that you've stored in your Acrobat.com online account, but you need to download them first. Log on to https://cloud.acrobat.com/files and select the file that you want to download, then click Download at the top of the file list.
Your file will download to the Downloads folder on your computer. To edit a PDF file, you'll need to use Acrobat (not Reader). You can download a free 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.

How can i Read the Data from such Excel files?
Dear All,
Here I am attaching an excel file in which all the datat cells have more than one data, can anybody tell me, how to read from such kind of excel files?
Thanks in Advance & Happy New Year,
RujutaGreetings Ruju,
Here is what I do to read such a file:
I first save the Excel file (xls) as CSV file (which is easier to handle: Comma Seperated Values) .. Open the file using Excel and save it CSV.
Then using the code attached I get all these values in a string array.
Hope this helps

How to re-read a 2 GB transaction log archived
I've archived with the backup utility the transaction log of my R/3 system cause we had space problems. Now the file backed-up has a size of 2 GB. I need to read it but I can't open because it's too big. Is there any utility or way to read a so big LOG file? Is there any particular function between the database tools I can use to do it?
Thanx
SonyaHello,
you cannot check the free space from outside the SQL Server as you can't open the actual log file as it is locked by SQL Server. If you want to get the information about free log space you can run the SQL command:
dbcc sqlperf(logspace)
If you want to get the information within a bat file you can use the osql utillity from SQL Server:
@echo off
osql -E -Q"dbcc sqlperf(logspace)"
The -E paramter connects you with a trusted Windows connection to the server. If you hae a named instance you have to specify the -S<Instancename> paramter as well. See in SQL Server Books Online for the complete syntax for the osql.exe utility.
Best regards

Change location of log file from pkg, due to logrotate problem?
Hello I am now the maintainer of the bacula packages in aur. http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=4510
The package ships with a log rotate file which points to /usr/var/bacula/working/log as the log file. However, log rotate gives
error: bacula:14 olddir /var/log/archive and log file /usr/var/bacula/working/log are on different devices
error: found error in file bacula, skipping
invalid password file entry
delete line ''? No
invalid password file entry
delete line ''? No
pwck: no changes
The solution to this is to change the log path to /var/log/bacula. My question is if I should leave the log path as is and have the user change it, or should I patch both the config file and syslog file to contain /var/log/bacula?
Thanks,
~pyther

This is what i did
1) created a dummy file in c drive
2) copy pasted below lines, you can play around more with the format
set _my_datetime=%date%_%time%
set _my_datetime=%_my_datetime: =_%
set _my_datetime=%_my_datetime::=%
set _my_datetime=%_my_datetime:/=_%
set _my_datetime=%_my_datetime:.=_%3) Rename the file from dos
ren some.txt dummy_file_%_my_datetime%.txt4) Here goes the output
C:\dir
dummy_file_Mon_09_20_2010_161347_21.txt
Most of the code i copied from above url, you can tweak a little bit based on ur requirement and format.
