Can you embed video in these forums would be my second question!! ?

3rd party plugins, like from Boris FX, do this. They usually call it Light Rays. There are others.

    Hello,

    Here's my version:

    The trained eye can probably see that the original version looks much better. Why is that? Is there something obvious I'm doing wrong, or could this text have been made using a different technique?
    (whether I use Flash or Photoshop shouldn't matter as their text effects are pretty much identical)
    Many thanks!

    nevermind y'all i figured it out!!

    If anyone can offer some help it would be greatly appreciated.

    mark, patrick, pierre and Longstrider - thankyou - sucess!
    Longstrider- special thanks for your fab run through I knew it couldn't be too tricky... hehe - it really isnt!
    I have got it shaking and mimicked exactly as in the sample vid clip - now i just have to add the randomisation on opacity, and perhaps some graininess to the text (text edging&fill is a bit sharp and clean).
    Once again - thankyou so much!

  • Could you please help me recreate this text effect?

    Hey guys,
    thank you very much for clicking on my question
    I need some help in figuring out how to do the text effect at the end of this short commercial:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQrxfBOo_Mo
    what i'm going for is for it to say:
    WE (stationary)    and then a bunch of lines here next to we scrolling really fast before stopping on
                              score the goals
    so a we on the left, with scrolling one-liners like "we score goals" "we make the tackles" etc scrolling on the right next to the "We"
    any ideas?

    Very simple stuff. You just can't do it with one layer.
    Set up you text with each statement on a separate layer, then simply animate the position of the text. You can set up that animation with the transformation properties or with text animators. There's information on both methods in the help files.
    Let me know if you need more help...

    Yes I guess that is the way it is done:

    <br />
    <br />That is you make three copies of the text but this time I composed the text as one unit using baseline shift and different type sizes and spacing.
    <br />
    <br />Once I had text they way I wanted it and the three copies I kept one as is, in this case the black version.
    <br />
    <br />I then gave a color to the bottom most and gave it a sufficient Offset path setting to look solid.
    <br />
    <br />So there is now black text and a solid colored background in and expanded shape of the text.
    <br />
    <br />I then outlined the text for the text that had been offset and then used the pathfinder to merge the different paths within that art. That would be the first icon on the top left of the pathfinder panel.
    <br />
    <br />I then gave the text in between and outline twice the weight I wanted the gap to be and no fill and flattened the transparency choosing to outline the strokes.
    <br />
    <br />Then I selected the outlined I just created and the background I created before leaving the
    <br />the outline on top of the background and went back to the pathfinder and chose to minus the front. The second icon on the top left of the panel.
    <br />
    <br />And there you are.
    <br />
    <br />Now I can do a Video or perhaps someone like Mordy will stop by and clean up my explanation as I understand i am often not easy to follow as far as my writing is concerned.
    <br />
    <br />I hope this helps.

  • Can Someone Tell Me How to Do This Text Effect?

    Ok so this video has this text effect that I spent 2 days looking on how to do it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LATGUNnlUr8
    The text effect starts at 0:47-0:49
    I tried looking for plugins and etc but I just can't find any that do this or something similar to it! It would mean a lot if you could tell me how to do it ^^

    The text itself simply appears character by character.  The "Typewriter" animation preset will do the job.  Additionally, there's a spray of particles accompanying the text.  You could generate these with the CC Particl World plugin.  You'll need to match the floor of the effect to the floor of your shot/background.  Animate the location of the particle generator to match the locatio of the appearing text.  Finally, apply some Glow.

  • How can i apply this glowing effect in logo with illustrator?

    How can i apply this glowing effect in logo | ThemeForest Community Forums

    I would make several copies of the original artwork.  On each copy, section the individual areas to be gradients. It looks like you have at least four gradients, both linear and radial.  It's just a matter of building each section and then reassembling each.  Not too complex, yet nice piece of artwork.

  • How would you go about replicating this text effect?

    I've seen this nice effect and would like to know the easiest way to create it more or less exactly as seen in the attached image. I had started making a few template pieces with the idea of using the pathfinder for each section, though realistically this would take hours to do properly.
    If anyone knows a better way it would be greatly appreciated!
    Please excuse the word itself
    Thanks,
    Wills

    You need the text outlined and then made into a compound paths and some lines on top.
    Then select all and click the pathfinder "Divide". Then move the shapes around.
    Try Object > Transform > Transform each to move them. Has a random mode.

  • How can I recreate the Clarity effect in Photoshop CS6?

    Hi,

    The original "clarity" technique is just a Midtone contrast adjustment, the original idea as far as I know is from Mac Holbert formally of Nash Editions. Recipe is below but Mac used to have an action on his web site (I have it too and could send). Or build your own. Here's the steps:
    Mac Holbert's Midtone Contrast
    1. Highlight your top layer in your Layers Palette then:
    2a. In CS I: Select Layer->New->Layer to create a new, blank layer at the top of your Layer Stack. Then, holding down
    your Opt Key (Mac) / Alt Key (PC), select Merge Visible from the fly-down menu on the right side of your Layers Palette.
    Be sure to keep the Opt/Alt depressed until you see the blank layer update. You should now have an additional layer at the
    top of your layer stack. It represents how the image would appear if you had flattened your layers. Rename this layer
    “Midtone Contrast”
          -OR-
    2b. In CS II: Holding down your Opt Key (Mac) / Alt Key (PC), select Merge Visible from the fly-down menu on the right
    side of your Layers Palette. Be sure to keep the Opt / Alt depressed until you see the blank layer update. You should now
    have an additional layer at the top of your layer stack. It represents how the image would appear if you had flattened your
    layers. Rename this layer “Midtone Contrast”
    3. Next double-click on the Midtone Contrast layer icon to bring up the Layer Style Palette. Change the Blend Mode to
    Overlay and lower the Blend Mode Opacity to 20%. Now move the left “This Layer” slider to 70. Now Split away the left
    side of that slider by holding down the Opt / Alt key and move it to 50. Repeat the same process on the right “This Layer”
    slider, moving the sliders to 185 and 205 respectively. Then select “OK”.
    4. Now select Filter->Other->High Pass. In the High Pass Palette set the radius to 50 and select “OK”. Now select Image-
    >Adjustments->Desaturate. The Midtone Contrast layer is now complete. At 20% opacity it should be very subtle, but
    noticable. The effect can be decreased or increased by raising or lowering the Midtone Contrast Layer opacity. I’ve found
    that the proper setting can usually be found between 20% and 40% opacity. Above 40% one risks creating “halo” artifacts
    that are visually distracting.

  • Recreate animated text effect?

    I am working on a video with mostly text, like the one below. I want to know how to recreate some of the effect used here, like when the "4" slides upwards and vertical and horizontal lines extend from it, or the point at 0:41 when the words are all connected by the line.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgLxv-f9mYs

    That example was done in FCP7. These days, those types of text effects, most of which can be done in FCPX, are probably better (at least easier) done in Motion. You *can* create a Basic Text "4" and animate the bars with Shape generators, etc. but it's a common enough use of the #4 that I put it together in Motion for you.
    You can download it here:
    http://sight-creations.com/fxexchange/sc_divideby4.zip
    You can:
    Animate all 3 strokes ("Crossbar", horizontal and vertical) from 0% to 100% (for horiz and vert - they will go far enough off the screen for you to create a border at the upper left corner of 16:9 aspect video.
    Use the onscreen control to position the intersection of the vertical and horizontal strokes (animated via keyframes).
    Colorize
    Scale (relative to the OSC)
    Rotate (relative to the OSC)
    Shear (tilt) (relative to the OSC)
    Fade with Opacity
    Blend into the storyline media (background) using Blend Mode
    Apply Drop Shadow

  • How do I create this gloss effect?

    Hi there,
    Currently I'm building a master based on someone else's work.
    I'm trying to remake a gloss effect, but I can't figure out how she did it.
    In one of the files, I found out how it works.
    The gloss effect is a pentagon placed over an image, like in the picture I included.
    Can anyone help me on how to recreate a pentagon like this?
    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Check the color of the overlaid polygon, and it's blend mode and transparency in the Effects panel.

  • How do I recreate this logo?...

    Can someone tell me the steps to recreate this logo and the fonts types, how they got the L to wrap around the T and how they got the space between the T? sorry this may an easy thing to do but am new to illustrator.. Thanks in advance
    http://gyazo.com/d3353b0095793586266dbc19a46d2262

    Rob,
    Presuming you have the original letter shapes as outlines (if you have live Type, Type>Create Outlines):
    how they got the space between the T
    You may :
    1) Create a long rectangle on top of the T with a width corresponding to the gap in the stem and extending past top and bottom;
    2) Select both T and rectangle BUT NOT THE Z and Pathfinder>Minus Front.
    This will create a Group of the two T parts (you may Ungroup if desired).
    how they got the L to wrap around the T
    You may:
    1) With the Line Segment Tool, ClickDrag down the gap in the T stem, crossing both parts of the Z there, then Object>Path>Divide Objects below;
    2) Repeat 1), only with short lines across the parts of the Z just on either side of the T stem;
    3) Select and drag each relevant part of the Z up/down in the stacking order in the Layers palette.
    And what DrStrik said.

  • How do I achive this dotted effect

    that seem to fade out from left to right. Is this done in CSS? Can
    I do this to the menu items on this page:
    http://www.gunnar.ca/environment.htm
    How do I achieve this? Any help appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hello,
    The dots are an image, and it is done with CSS. The dot image
    is applied as the background image in a link.
    Specifically, it's applied to the bottom and given the
    attributes to start on the left and not repeat.
    #nav a
    display: block;
    font-size: 12px;
    color: #000;
    padding-left: 10px;
    line-height: 22px;
    vertical-align: middle;
    background: url("/images/sidenav-dotline.png") left bottom
    no-repeat;
    You vertical navigation uses rollover images, so some options
    are:
    a) Add dots to the bottom of each image.
    b) Rebuild your menu using a dotted background image on the
    links like they did. (You'll lose your faded text and
    over/underline that you achieved by using images but the page would
    load faster).
    c) Your rollover images are each in a table cell, so you
    could give the table cell some padding to lift the images off the
    bottom of each cell, then apply a dotted line image as the
    background for each cell, positioned at the bottom left and not
    repeating.
    Hope that helps,
    Tim

  • Trying to recreate a text effect

    I want to recreate something similar to the image below. The text doesn't seem to have been drawn along a path,  the letters look as though they have been outlined so they can be moved individually outlining the object. Is this what is happening here? is there an easy way to make sure the text looks well spaced and alligned when doing this? Or am i totally off track and will this text just have been drawn along an open path?

    Daniel,
    In addition to what Monika said, you have two paths, based on one (you may start with the original outline, then Object>Path>Offset to get one path at a distance, then cutor copy it to apply two individual texts). To make both texts look right, you will need to apply Baseline Shift to at least one of them.
