How do I reduce cell width with a long field name?

I'm creating an asp page, connected to an Access database.
When I create a page with, say the Dynamic Data Table "wizard," I
find that I cannot reduce the width of the data cells to anything
less than the label/field name length.
For instance, one field is "rsCities.ID" but it's only 2 or 3
digits wide. I'd like that cell in the table to be small, but I
can't figure out how to reduce it. Trying to move the resizing
handles doesn't work. Am I missing something?

Have you tried using Live Data view in DW?
When it's set up properly with a testing server, the Live
Data feature will
insert actual values from your database into Design View
rather than
fieldname placeholders.
Press F1 Help and search for Live Data.

MaxDB: Table with many LONG fields does not allow an INSERT: ...?

Hi,
I have a table with many LONG fields (28). So far, everythings works fine.
However, if I add another LONG field I cannot insert a dataset anymore
(29 LONG fields).
Does there exist a MaxDB parameter or anything else I can change to make inserts possible again?

You are right. This table looks a bit strange. The story behind it is: Each crystal report in the application has a few textblocks which are the same for all the e.g. persons the e.g. letter is created for. Principally, the textblocks could be directy added to the crystal report. However, as it is often the case, these textblocks may change once in a while. Thus, I put the texts of the textblock into this "strange" db table (one row for each report, one field for each textblock, the name of the report is given by "ztb_nameofreport"). And the application offers a menue by which these textblocks can be changed. Of course, the fields in the table could be of type CHAR, but LONG has the advantage that I do not have to think about the length of the field, since sometime the texts are short and sometimes they are really long.
(These texts would blow up the sql select command of the crystal report very much if they were integrated into the this select command. Thus it is realized in another way: the texts are read before the crystal report is loaded, then the texts are "given" to the crystal report (by its parameters), and finally the crystal report is loaded.)

The customer still has Win98 clients. MaxDB odbc driver 7.5.00.26 does not work for them. I got the hint to use odbc driver 7.3 (see [lists.mysql.com/maxdb/25667|lists.mysql.com/maxdb/25667]). Do MaxDB 7.6 and odbc driver 7.3 work together?
All Win98 clients may be replaced by WinXP clients in the near future. Then, an upgrade may be reasonable.

Files with "alien" names in directories with very long path names

Hi all,
first of all - I dont know if this is the right forum for my Question,
but I could not find any better ;-)
I have a problem with some files with "alien" names with MIXED characters from different foreign countries
(e.g. "Φέτα (τυρί) 只有沙盒或您的用户页可以用作測試ורת המבחנים בחינוך פור.txt").
Sometimes - whenn those files are exists in a directory with a very long path name,
then the windows api fails to handle these files.
For example GetFileAttributesW() returns error 2
and ntQueryDirectoryFile does not return this file in the list (etc. pp.)
I have this behaviour not with other files in those directories (e.g. "abc.txt")
and also not when those names are a little bit shorter
or the directorys name is not too long.
So I guess, there is a bug either in the API or in the file system...?!
I know that such a file name is a generic one,
but I have a situation where I have to handle any file with any name -
even in directories with very long path names...
So please no suggestions like "use shorter paths" or "convert it to a short name"....

How can I reduce the width of an Adobe Bridge web gallery in Dreamweaver?

Hi there,
I've been created a website using Dreamweaver CS4, which is nearly finished except for the photo gallery.
I have created the web gallery through Adobe bridge and exported. I then created an iframe within the dreamweaver page and specified that it fills 100% of the space (or column, which is approx 510px wide). I then inserted the index file of the gallery into the iframe though 'modify' > 'Edit tag'.
I saved and tested the webpage in a browser - the functionality worked but the gallery seems to be cropped (See attached pic).
I then tried to specify that the iframe was 510px wide, but the gallery remained at the same width and the right side of some images and the scroll bar are missing.
Does anyone know how to reduce the width of an adobe bridge web gallery to 500px wide and insert succesfully into dreamweaver??

How to get blob image width with ordimage?

I have trouble getting image width with ordimage. I have quite the same program for processing images as here: http://spendolini.blogspot.com/2005/10/manipulating-images-with-database.html
so I have declared image files as BLOB files. How can I get the width for the them?
There is a sample from ordimage reference:

the column blob_content is not suitable for storing into v_image2 because variable v_image2 is of type ORDSYS.ORDIMAGE and the column is BLOB.

How to read a ftp file with a specified file name in Proxy-XI-File scenario

I have the following requirement:
The end user send a request via the proxy to XI, within the request parameters there is a file name, and the XI need to retrieve the file content from a ftp server with this specified file name, how can I achieve this?
According to my understanding, the file receiver adapter can only write the files to the server.

This can be achieved using a BPM...
you will have to use Two parallel receive steps within a fork...
1. 1st receive step :This will bring the data from the proxy
2. 2nd receive step :according to pipeline step before this step would be executed interface determination would be called withini that you can put a mapping wherin the source and target message type would be as follows
a. source message type ; the file structure that is going to be picked from ftp structure
b.target message type : same structure as source except at top you will add "filename" field
(you cna find on forum how we can get a fielname in the mapping ..in case you dont knw )
3. now you can define correlation on the field "fielname" in both the receive steps provide the hirearchy and structure of data coming from both file and procy are same...
4.. after corelation you can put any steps like transformation ( as you want)

How To Import Into A Table with Multi-Value Fields

I have a table with a multi-value field that contains states in which a company does business. It is multi-value because there can be more than one state. I tried to import a text tab-delimited file in which the data was arranged as follows:
Field1 Tab Field 2 Tab OR, WA, CA Tab
The "State field contained the multiple entries separated by a comma (like they appear in a query of the multi-value field), but it won't accept it. Does anyone know how to import into a multi-value field?

Here's the code I used to populate a multi-value field from a parsed field. The parsing routine could be greatly improved by using the Split function, but at that time, I had not used it yet. FYI... the field name of the multi-value field in
the table was "DBAInStatesMultiValue", which you can see in the example below how it is integrated into the code.

Call transaction : O7s1 or see in configuration menu: paymentmedi-> define Sort Variant.
Create your Sort Variant accouding top your requirement, Input the same in Configuration of paymen.
call transaction FBZP, then press the button " Payment Method in company Code"

I need to create a form with day, date, month, year and time for 12 months
Instead of coding them 12 times, I create day,date,month,year and time fileds in my form 1 time and then I use cfloop from="1" to="12" index="i" to loop these form fields 12 times.
I gave each form field name such as: <input type="text" name="ScheduleDate_# i #" value=" "> this way each of those field will be named differently such as:
ScheduleDate_1, ScheduleDate_2,ScheduleDate_3, ScheduleTime_1,ScheduleTime_2, etc
I'm facing problem when this form is submitted, I think the error has something to do with the pound sign (##) when it comes to updating the back end

How can I reduce the width between search results and the preview fly-out?

Hello, I am using a custom masterpage that reduces the overall width of page content but I am seeing an issue with my enterprise search site. The search results look fine but there is a large horizontal gap between the results and document preview window
(when mousing over a word/excel/powerpoint result). This means that the preview fly-out is hardly visible unless the user scrolls horizontally to the right. Can someone tell me how to set a reduced width between the results web part and the preview window?

I think the issue is with the Callout orientation, have you customized the page and if so then you can customize the callout.
check "beakOrientation" and you can set values like topBottom, leftRight as per your requirement.

How to adjust the cell width in the table

How can the width of the cell in a table for ADE be adjusted ?
I wrote the following HTML code in a ePub file.

But, the created table runs over the page at the right side in the ADE (see figure). The values of widths in the both td tags are set to 50% and the same result is got. However, with no set of the values the table fits in the page.
Why? How should I do?

Try adding "margin: 0;" to the table style (or to parent elements of the table)
In case you don't know already, itis easy to play quickly with HTML at a site like http://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_basic
However, that won't reflect the 'outer' environment imposed by different browsers, eReaders etc.
The more explicit you make your HTML (eg explicit margin) rather than leaving it to environment support,
the more likely it is to appear the same (within reason of size etc) on all browsers/devices.
Probably worth making a fairly extensive style of your defaults that applies at the <doc> level.
