How do I revert back to the old operating system? The new upgrade that came out totally disabled my WiFi and the default backgrounds changed to white instead of bla k.

An upgrade was sent to my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone on 3/27/15 and it ruined my phone. I no longer have the ability to Wi-Fi. When I swipe the phone on there is a clicking sound and the scree goes directly to my keypad. I want the phone to go to my home screen like it did before. My apps that had a black background now have a white background which is impossible to see outdoors. I want the black background back for settings, clock, and calculator. Samsung tech support says this stuff is default with the new upgrade. How do I revert back to the version I had before without having to put the phone back to factory settings and lose all my pictures, memos and other files I have accumulated over the last year that I have had the phone. Please see the bold. If you're out of icloud storage, then you won't be able to backup to icloud unless you purchase more storage, but yet you said you backup to icloud.
If you really did backup to icloud no data would be loss - sounds to me that it didn't backup since you had no more free icloud storage space.

I just got a new upgrade iphone from a 3G to 4G. My son updated the software with Icloud. I do not like it, it drains my battery. How do I get the old operating system back (without icloud). Apple does not support downgrading the iOS.
As for icloud, go to Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.

Also, Settings>General>Background App Refresh: turn off apps you don't want refreshing data - this can preserve battery life.
Also try a reboot: press and hold the home and power buttons until the Apple icon is displayed, then let go.

Make sure your apps are updated. You might try Settings > iTunes & App Store > Automatic Downloads - Updates = "On".

There is no difference, you didnt get "shorted" Mavericks is a FREE DOWNLOAD
Open the APP store and download Mavericks.
You didnt buy a "clearance" item, you just got an Air that was there at the shop before Mavericks was released.
There is no difference other than a 40 min. download.

Plug your iPad into your computer. THere may be a delay while it installs drivers but if you can see your iPad in windows explorer, use that to get to your photos.
Click on your iPad and you should see a DCIM folder. Click thorugh that to find your photos.
Windows explorer will see your iPad as nothing more than a digital camera, and that's the part you're trying to access.

I just installed the Lion operating system, basically to upgrade my iPhone. I didn't realize that my Microsoft Office 2004 application would no longer work. I have been using Word for my writing and I receive most of my emails with Word attachments. I have been using Apple products for years, always touting their reliability and customer service. I am not a techie, I just want to be able to do what I do on the computer and Apple always fulfilled my needs. Now I am told because of some operating system gobbledygook, I have to go out and purchase new software to use Word. This is despicable. I see no particular benefit to using Lion, but I do see a lot of detriments. Apple now seems to have turned into Microsoft, making software obsolete so they can make more money and to **** with the customer. You can be sure that my next computer will be a PC. I have completely lost confidence in Apple.

I seem to never tire of saying this. It was for Apple when they first announced 10.7 to disclose this. Yes, it was widely reported -- or rather, rumored -- but not by Apple. And many people who have gotten caught by this assumed that Apple itself would have told them beforehand about the loss of this very important feature which they had come to rely on. As far as I know, not even in fine print, does this appear anywhere on the Lion announcement or any of its links.
I am not saying Apple had to continue Rosetta in Lion, or forever, just that if it was going to be dropped, it should have been made known.
As relative "insiders" we should not forget that many people don't have the time, habit or interest to do this kind of research. I think it is a breach of trust that Apple has never directly made this announcement or given people the opportunity to decide beforehand if giving up their PPC apps for a new OS is a worthwhile tradeoff.

I want to buy the newest operating system so that it runs better (because currently it is struggling), however I would like to clean up all the old software before I do that. I want it to be as clean and new as possible before I buy the new operating system, instead of just downloading it ontop of all of the rubbish I must have accumulated. I also want to keep my data (documents, photographs etc). Would anybody be kind enough to provide me with a step-by-step (can be as concise as you like, depending on how much time/effort you have to explain!) guide as to how I might go about doing this myself? Step number one - Back up all your important data!
Seriously, it sounds like you are working without backups. Don't ever do this. Hard drives fail, it is a fact of life. Don't be one of those who get caught without a backup. An external hard drive, burning it all to DVDs, or online backup will save you frustration and money.
Two - don't expect a new operating system to improve performance. Get the computer running as best as it can before you upgrade. You may need more RAM or a bigger hard drive.

I'm unclear on what you're asking. If you're looking for a way to downgrade, that's not an easy process. If you didn't make a full system backup just before upgrading, you have to erase the hard drive, reinstall your old OS and then use the setup assistant to import data from some backup.
If you're just curious how to handle things if the hard drive dies and the system needs reinstalling, note that you can create a Mac OS X install disk from the Lion installer. If you no longer have a copy of the installer (which self-deletes after installing), hold down option and click Purchased in the App Store, then click Install next to Lion. Then just quit the installer once it downloads, since you're already running Lion.
You can also boot into the recovery partition by holding down command+R while starting up. That'll let you repair or reinstall, but obviously won't work if the entire hard drive dies.
As to getting your stuff back... you're responsible for backing up. You need to keep a minimum of two good backups on separate media. Time Machine works well for one of those, something like Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper works will for others.

Im a new Mac user. I currently just bought a new MacBook Pro. The first computer I got apparently had a problem with the flex, so I had to go change it for a new one. The first one had the latest operating system, the second one the store gave me didn't, yet it's still a brand new computer, so I don't see why I should have to pay for the new operating system, which should already come with my brand new computer. So I am trying to contact apple so they may give me permission to download it from the app store for free, due to this inconvenience and first bad experience. The vendor tells me that sometimes new computers may come with old operating systems because they're from an old batch of new computers. Oh and by the way, I'm from Honduras, and bought it at Jetstereo, in Tegucigalpa (the capital). This store is a licensed distributor.

How can I revert back to my old version of FF after updating to 15.0?

FF kept urging me to update to version 15.0, but I resisted because doing so would disable some key aps, the major one being my password and security ap, Abine where all my passwords are stored.
When I started the computer this morning, FF version 15 was on my computer and Abine no longer works. I did not give FF permission to do the upgrade, but that's not the problem now.
How can I get back to the previous version of FF (14.01)? I have an iMac and have it backed up with time Machine.

A new Abine release compatible with FF15 is on addons.mozilla.org now.
I restarted my computer and Abine was working. If not, go to tools, add-ons, and update. I'm not a tech person, so I hope one of these works for you.

To clarify things, if you have LifeCycleManager also called LCM and use versioning, you can revert changes.
Howver, if you edit a report in a higher patch level then go back to a previous patch level you may face unexpected behavior like sudden crash, document corruption that in the worst cases manifests after a long time.
Therefore the best practices are to use LCM and/or perform systematic backups plus exceptional backups when major changes occur.
