How do I sample a frequency or voice input using labview in real time?

This is my first time using labview to sample real-time! I'm trying to setup a microphone, so that when a voice is spoken to the mic I can sample the frequency, and
further customize the data in labview. The final goal is to amplify the frequency and output it to a speaker. If possible via labview. My question is do I need some type of evaluation board , microcontroller, to sample the frequencies and save the data sample to labview. Also, how would I go by doing this in real-time, or when the person is speaking to the mic the voice/frequency can be modified in labview instantenaeously. If someone can give me a step-by-step way of performing this, please let me know.

There are many LabVIEW shipping examples that are built to acquire sound samples from a microphone attached to a sound card. There is also an example on how to play a sound file directly to speakers, that you should definitely take a look at. These examples VIs are found in the Sound folder which is under Hardware Input and Output in the NI Example Finder. Depending on how advanced your frequency analysis will be, you might want to look into purchasing the Sound and Vibration Toolkit. For your specific application, it doesn't sound like you will need the LabVIEW Real-Time Module, you should be able to obtain very accurate results without it. Queues are only good to transfer data if your application isn't deterministic. Since you are using Real Time, I am assuming that your application requires determinism. If you are using Timed Loops and you use queues to transfer data between your loops, you are losing determinism. In this case, you need to use the RT FIFO functions.

If you are trying to use In/Out port functions that come with LabVIEW they will not work with NT. I think the AccessHW file at the following link will fix that problem:

How can I figure out, (and control), the sampling rate of my IMAQ board using LabVIEW?

My IMAQ board is sampling at a certain rate and I do not know what it is... how do I figure this out using labVIEW? Also, how can I make sure that it is not waiting any time at all for sampling i.e. it is not waiting for any wait time functions or any of them other things that cause the program to slow. The reason that I want to do this is because the Kodak Imaging board that I am using seems to be delivering at a much higher rate and no my graph there are major gaps between each sample according to the time plot (for instance it goes from 178280 to 178290 all the way by 10's to 178340. But when the program is running continuously it has gaps of like 355 or so miliseconds I guess.
Maybe that is just the time that it takes for the program to refresh itself, I am not sure. where could I find where this missing information is going?

Your IMAQ card should be sampling at the same speed of the camera, as long as your camera isn't exceeding the cards limits.
As for how many images you're acquiring in your program, it depends on how long it takes for you to finish one loop of your code. It sounds to me that you may have a lot of processing happening after each grab, therefore slowing down the system.
Try to comment out your processing (maybe with a case structure set to false) and output only your acquired images. See if that makes a difference. You might also try running this on a faster computer.

How do you force Logic Pro 8 to freeze a track in real time

I'm using a lot of samples in a project and my hard drive can't read all the samples fast enough (it's a 5400rpm USB 2.0 drive - I'm looking at getting a faster drive, but this problem is bound to crop up eventually with any drive if you have enough samples).
Freezing tracks doesn't solve the problem (it makes it worse) because it races through and plays each track so fast that the drive reads even less samples than playing in real time.
Ideally, i'd like to be able to freeze all tracks (which would miss a lot of samples), but then one by one re-freeze each track in real-time, so the only samples Logic and the hard drive have to worry about are from that one track (as all others are frozen). I think this would give me the best chance of having the drive read all the samples in the project.
Is there a way to tell Logic to freeze the track in real time?
Or if you can think of any other way to solve the problem, obviously I'd be more than happy with that : )

I don't understand what you are saying here. When a track is frozen, there are no samples being used for it, just one temporary audio file...?

What exactly do you mean by freezing? I think you mean something else than Logics' freeze function:

How to measure the shift between two resembling images using LabVIEW?

I am running an experiment in which I use a microscope to map the surface of a laboratory sample and due to some small drift consecutive image appear displaced. In order to correct for the drift I need to first measure it, which I can do by recording two images and finding the shift between. Because of some small random noise which adds to each image, the features in two consecutive images are not completely identical, but they do resemble each other very well. Do you have any suggestions on how to measure this image shift (in both x and y) using LabVIEW (I have version 8.20)?

Hi, thanks for the answer, I´ll try to see if a 2D cross-correlation will work. I also attached two typical images with a small shift between them (there is also some change in background between them, but I belive the shift should still be measurable).

How can I run the report for different input values at the same time?

Reports version: Report Builder 6.0.8.13.1
Oracle version: Oracle8i Enterprise Edition Release 8.1.7.0.0
I want to run the same report for different input parameter values and spool each o/p to different file and ftp to a server. For this, as a first step, I am spooling different input values in to a file, reading those values through a loop and calling the report for that input values. Each report run/execution is taking 15 minutes. Total report execution is taking approximately 4 hours (assuming 16 different input values) to complete. So I have to wait 4 hours to see ALL outputs.
I would like to run the report parallel for ALL the input values and I should be able to see the ALL outputs with in 15 or 16 minutes.
In my shell script, I added & symbol at the end of the report call to start/run the job in the background. Due to this the control passed to the next step after the report call. At this place I have an ftp command to send the output file to a different server and it is giving error some thing like o/p file is not available/created yet". This is due to the fact that report writer is NOT yet completely started/initiated or it is NOT completed the spooling.
How can I run the report at the same time for all the input values and save the time?

Increase the number of server engines running right now it seems there is only one engine running ,increase it to 4 or 6
and then atleast 4 or 6 reports will run simultaneously.
For FTPing the output add to your sript to check whether it is locked and if not then only try to ftp .
Also for more better functionality read the document (chapter 15 ) for 10g reports for its new fuinctionality.

Business add-ins are enhancements to the standard version of the system.
Business Add-In is a new SAP enhancement technique based on ABAP Objects.
They can be inserted into the SAP system based on specific user requirements.
Each Business Add-In has:
at least one Business Add-In definition
a Business Add-In interface
a Business Add-In class that implements the interface
In order to enhance a program, a Business Add-In must first be defined
Subsequently two classes are automatically generated:
An interface with IF_EX_ inserted between the first and second characters of the BADI name.
An adapter class with CL_EX_ inserted between the first and second characters of the BADI name.
The Application developer creates an interface for this Add-In.
There are multiple ways of searching for BADI.
Finding BADI Using CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE
Finding BADI Using SQL Trace (TCODE-ST05).
Finding BADI Using Repository Information System (TCODE- SE84).
1. Go to the Transaction, for which we want to find the BADI, take the example of Transaction VD02. Click on System->Status. Double click on the program name. Once inside the program search for CL_EXITHANDLER=>GET_INSTANCE.
Make sure the radio button In main program is checked. A list of all the programs with call to the BADIs will be listed.
The export parameter EXIT_NAME for the method GET_INSTANCE of class CL_EXITHANDLER will have the user exit assigned to it. The changing parameter INSTANCE will have the interface assigned to it. Double click on the method to enter the source code.Definition of Instance would give you the Interface name.
2. Start transaction ST05 (Performance Analysis).
Set flag field "Buffer trace"
Remark: We need to trace also the buffer calls, because BADI database tables are buffered. (Especially view V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT)
Push the button "Activate Trace". Start transaction VA02 in a new GUI session. Go back to the Performance trace session.
Push the button "Deactivate Trace".
Push the button "Display Trace".
The popup screen "Set Restrictions for Displaying Trace" appears.
Now, filter the trace on Objects:
V_EXT_IMP
V_EXT_ACT
Push button "Multiple selections" button behind field Objects
Fill: V_EXT_IMP and V_EXT_ACT
All the interface class names of view V_EXT_IMP start with IF_EX_. This is the standard SAP prefix for BADI class interfaces. The BADI name is after the IF_EX_.
So the BADI name of IF_EX_CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA is CUSTOMER_ADD_DATA
3. Go to Maintain Transaction (TCODE- SE93).
Enter the Transaction VD02 for which you want to find BADI.
Click on the Display push buttons.
Get the Package Name. (Package VS in this case)
Go to TCode: SE84->Enhancements->Business Add-inns->Definition
Enter the Package Name and Execute.
Here you get a list of all the Enhancement BADIs for the given package MB.

How can I save/write data on the hard disc of the Real-Time System?

I would like to acquire huge size of data via LabView Real-Time System.
Since data is so huge, I am now thinking that it might be good idea to
write/save data on the hard disc of the Real-Time System first and then
transfer the data file to a data processing PC using FTP etc.
If you know how to save/write data on the hard disc of the Real-Time System
(Ver. 7.1), please let me know.

Just to add to Aitortxo's good answer,
Since you have only one Drive ( C:\) on your RT, just keep monitering the availible disc space.
After every few set of file writes keep transferring Backups delete these files, so that you keep C:\ drive space for running your applications.

How to make 1D Array but with only one element filled in Real Time

here I am with another question. I want to implement an prediction discrete state space observer which is going to run on a CRIO real time target. I am going to do it just like in the example which comes with LV.
I have some questions regarding the input and outputs which in the example those are "dummy".
My model is a SISO model, but the function "Construct SS model" returns parameters (A,B,C,D Matrices) as 2D arrays, so once you connect the cluster model into the Discrete Observer model, it takes y and u as 1D arrays despite of the fact that there is a SISO model.
I realized that the function I am using in the simulations, uses 1D arrays but with only one element filled:
Does anyone knows how to implement such 1D arrays in Real Time? I guess the way to do it is preallocating one array of zeros of size 1, and then recirculating it through some SR, and replacing the element with my real input and output, but at the dummy.vi, they are using a simple "build array"
function.

Ok, I did it that way. But I am facing another problem right now...
At some point the Discrete Observer return a NAN array, you will see the code in the code snippet?
I get rid of that component by component, but the observer gets "stuck" in it. So my Control law is zero... but the state stimate is NAN.
Also I am attaching the VI.
I do not know why, since in the simulation program all runs well. any thoughts? Maybe the internal numeric precision of the State Space Model?

I only know Oracle to Oracle dbs by streams or GoldenGate.

Since GoldenGate's bread and butter was (and is) replicating data between heterogeneous data sources, and since Oracle has purchased GoldenGate, that would seem like a natural place to start.
Beyond that, it depends on the architecture you want and how you define "real time." Just about any ETL tool on the market, whether Oracle's ODI or OWB or any number of third party products (Informatica, DataStage, etc) can handle "trickle feeds" from various data sources to a database target of your choosing. Different tools will have different sorts of integration with the source database, many will require that a bunch of triggers are created to track changes on the source systems.
If you want Oracle to control the replication process (which doesn't really make sense if we're talking about replication from a non-Oracle database to another non-Oracle database), you can use the Oracle Transparent Gateway products to create database links from Oracle to the non-Oracle databases and query data on the source database periodically.
