How do i search a textfile for a particular value?
I have made the records etc, six fields per record, i would like to find a value which is typed into the search textbox, find the record in the textfile and display the record in the boxes used to enter the data.
SO HOW WOULD I SEARCH A TEXTFILE?

If it were me, I'd use Lucene. Each line could be a separate document, and each field would be a field in Lucene. That would provide you one of the fastest and most flexible ways to do what you want.
Or did you mean you want someone to complete your homework assignment? :-)

How can I reduce the selection for the characteristics value in a BW query

I need to find out how I can reduce the selection for the characteristics values in a BW query.
In a BW query I have a characteristic "Due month".
The characteristic values shown in the query are from 01.2001->03.2007. I would like to reduce it to the last 2 years,in the query view, without deleting the data for the other years in the cube.
Do you know how this can be done?

hi,
First thing you have to do is check the report how the data is being restricted only to those months.
1) one it can be variable in which the code is written for that to populate for last few years.
or else it must have been hardcoded for these months.
Go into your report and underneath the characteristicsCALMONTH there must be an variable or hardcoding.
You need to change this here in the report.
You dont have to delete anything there.

I believe there is a PDF doc which comes with the component (it should be at your harddrive when you install it), which describes everything you will need.
In a nutshell, there are two types of relationship: sibling - sibling, parent - child (there are some more nuances, but it follows the same logic).
A relationship is created between two existing items (not sure, if you can also create a relationship for a new checked in item, but it would be just a usability). You select the type of relationship and the item - I believe depending on the relationship you may start from either item. The dialog to start is INFO (display metadata) or UPDATE (update metadata).
When a relationship is created you may watch it also from either end (again INFO is the starting point).
It is quite self-explanatory, so if you have the component installed you may just play around with it for a while and that is it.

ther is a convenient way to find all BADIS called. You may know that BADIS are the newer version of EXITs.
I would suggest you to go for BADI.
Follow the below steps to find out what all BADI's are called when you press any button in any transaction.
1) Goto se24 (Display class cl_exithandler)
2) Double click on the method GET_INSTANCE.
3) Put a break point at Line no.25 (CASE sy-subrc).
Now
4) Execute SAP standard transaction
5) Press the required button for which you need to write an exit logic, the execution will stop at the break point.
6) Check the values of variable 'exit_name', it will give you the BADI name called at that time.
7) This way you will find all the BADIs called on click of any button in any transaction.

Each Cloud Service has the resell criteria and any training required listed on their respective Knowledge Zones. In the KZ click on the "Apply to Resell" tab and there you will find 1 steps. Step one lists all of the items that are included within that product family. Step two lists the criteria. Once you complete all the items in step two, then you select Step 3 that will walk you through the actual process to apply. As mentioned in one of the other questions here, you also need to be Gold member or higher, have an active FUDA (Full Use Distribution Agreement) and a CSDA (Cloud Services Distribution Addendum). All of the products that are included in resell, along with links to their respective KZ's can be found at oracle.com/partners/goto/cloud.

Query not executing for one particular value

I have query on multi provider. and this multi provider is combination of Info objects only but not any ODS or cubes. I have one key figure in this multi provider.while executing the query i need to give input for variabl which has 7 different values. Query is executing fine for 6 values but not for one particular value.
query executed in listcube transaction and it is executed fine here for the same selection. then what might be the reason?

I have dimensional drill been setup for Supervisor Hierarchy Table.I need to stop the dimensional drill for a particular value of the column in obiee 11g.
Example: I have two columns
1.Supervisor Level 1 Name
2.Supervisor Level 2 Name
Supervisor Level 1 Name Columns have these values.(Ram,Higher,Sam)
Supervisor Level 2 Name Columns have these values.(Ravi,Higher,Raghul).
If we pull Supervisor Level 1 Name Column in report which has a dimensional drill(It will navigate to Supervisor Level 2 Name).It will show
1.Ram
2.Higher
3.Sam
I should not drill on Higher value but the rest of the values(Sam and Ram will drill to Supervisor Level 2 Name) should be drillable.The same should happen for Supervisor Level 2 Name.

Fist, I should mention I am not a programmer but am eagerly learning powershell!
I am looking for an automated solution to accomplish what I am currently doing manually. I need a script that would combine the following:
Reach out to a list of websites (probably a loop of some sort since the list will come out of a spreadsheet which could contain 1 or 100 different sites)
Search each page for a specific word or words (not contained in the spreadsheet though that may make it more scalable)
Save the URL of the site(s) that contained the keywords to one text file (versus the multiple .html files I am creating today)
Have the output contain which words it found on which site.
If not overly complicated, I would like to schedule this to recur once a week.
A working script would be ideal, but even the resources that show me how to incorporate each element would suffice.
I have had success pulling down the full content of the listed pages and saving them to a directory, which requires manual intervention.
So far this works, but it's not scalable:

To automatically Reach out to all urls, you can list all urls in a txt file "d:\urls.txt" like this:

Then please try the script below to save the URL of the site(s) that contained the keywords to one text file "d:\outputurls.txt":

Three related problems all involving search and replace for invisibles.
1. A block of text where all double returns need to become single returns.
2. A block of text where all returns need to be replaced with a single word space.
3. A block of text where all double word spaces to be replaced with a single word space.
Pages 09 could do all three this handily. How can these be done in Pages 5.5.2?

Copy to the clipboard. Do a Command-F. Here's the resulting dialogue:

Note the Search field no longer has an empty slot selected. Something is clearly in there, but no instance of whatever is has been found. Nevertheless, I proceed to set up the Replace field by selecting a single return:
Copy that to the clipboard and paste into the Replace field:
Nothing to search for and therefore nothing to replace. Am now wondering what that little scoop to the right of the eyeglass icon might indicate. Clicking on it reveals this:
Definitely not "a solution that just works."

Running Windows 7 Enterprise -- It seems neither the advanced nor simple search option includes a check box for hyperlinks in a search. What am I missing?

That method has worked for me before with external URL's; however, I am attempting to enumerate links to sections, figures and tables within a large document. Another way to do it (for this particular document, as it happens) is by adding tags via the Accessibility tool, but this process is tedious and the accessibility problems Acrobat found are mostly spurious, found just by luck.
All I want is a wildcard regular expression search and a check box to include all links in my search, like how the search function worked in previous versions of Acrobat.

But while creating a customer in XD01 we are not maintaing any plant data in that we are just giving the sales area data and the company code data in the initial screen. A particular customer can be used for any no of plants in our organisation than in that case how is it posible to get the data for the required plant.Here the plant is not same as the customer or vendor.
