How do I set a function = to *** in Numbers to have a running total

Hi
How can I set a function in numbers that is the same as "***" in excel.  I just want to have a column that accumulates the totals in another column.

Select the cell where you want the results to appear, then type
          =Sum(
Then hold down the Command key and click on each of the cells in the other column whose results/contents you want incorporated into the running total.
Then type
and press Return.

Set up your "main" router to use the OpenDNS servers, and the Time Capsule will automatically pick up those settings. No configuration is needed on the Time Capsule.

  • How do I set the print area in Numbers?

How do I set the print area in Numbers?

    Hi Macuser4ever,
Numbers does not have the 'Set Print Area' feature. Numbers is designed around several tables, each with a purpose. For example, Input Table, Big Database, Intermediate Calculations Table (all of which you may not need to print) and a final Summary (Presentation) Table that you may wish to print. The Summary Table can be on its own Sheet. Arrange objects (Summary Table, Charts [graphs] and whatever) on one Sheet and print only that Sheet.

  • How do you set up a rescue email if I have forgotten my security questions without calling apple

How do I set up a rescue email when I have forgotten my security questions and without calling apple?!?!

You first have to reset the questions/answer. If you do not want to call, see #1 below
    From a Kappy  post
The Three Best Alternatives for Security Questions and Rescue Mail
       1. Use Apple's Express Lane.
Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the
bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then
'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Forgotten Apple
ID security questions' and click 'Continue'. Please be patient waiting for the return
phone call. It will come in time depending on how heavily the servers are being hit.
         2.  Call Apple Support in your country: Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support or
Apple ID- Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security. Ask to speak to

  • HT201303 How do I set up my iPhone so that I have to enter my password each time I need to access my apple account? Previously my account name was always stored and I only had to enter my password each time but now it never asks for a password

How can I set up my 4s so that when I need to access my apple account to either download an app, update an app or buy something then I need to just put in my password?  This is how my 3s worked but the 4 s seems to have stored all my details so I don't need to log in. My young son sometimes plays games and I dont want him to accidentally buy stuff. If I log out then each time I need to go back in I have to put in all my account info. Not just my password.
    Any ideas?

Depending upon what version of iOS that you have on it then you might have a Settings > General > Restrictions > Require Password setting on it - if you do then set it to 'Immediately'

  • I just bought ipad2 but would like to print from it, what is a air printer. How do I set this up... I have a brother printer

How do I set up ipa2 so that I cn print

Printers that support AirPrint don't need any additional apps in order to print to them, they just need to be connected to the same wifi network as the iPad - the printer models that support AirPrint, and a bit of info about it, are on this page. If your printer doesn't support AirPrint then you could see if the printer manufacturer has their own app in the store which works with it, or there are third-party printer apps suc as Print n Share and Print Central which miht work with it.

  • Counter function : How works the Set attribute function

    Hi,
    I use Labview and a 6713 DAQ
I want to use the "set attribute vi" but I don't exactly what means the "attribute value number" and the attribute value type" in that vi
    >Where can I find some data about that?
    >What is the relation between the internal clock frequency and the attribute value number if I generate a pulse train ?
    >How can I configure the frequency of my DAQ ? ( I can use 20MHz or 100KHz )
    Any help is greatly appreciated
    Renaud

    Renaud,
You can read the on-line help for the Set Attribute VI by right-clicking over the VI and selecting "Help." The help will describe each of those parameters. In addition, you can search through counter examples for your 6713 by selecting from the menu bar Help>>Search Examples>>I/O Interfaces>>Counters. Any example that demonstrates the functionality of the DAQ-STC counter will work for your board. In addition, you will find examples on pulse train generation.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I set up TC as network drive on my G4 running OSX 10.3.9?

    Hello,
I just bought a TimeCapsule and a new Macbook and set it up in my existing network of a PowerBook G4 and Airport. Backup from the new Mac to the TC works just fine.
The Airport Utility on my old PowerBook can see the TimeCapsule as well.
What I want now is to access the content of the TimeCapsule from my G4 in the same way as I can from my new Macbook. How can I do this?
    Thanks!
    -bjorn.

Can't be done as an exact copy from one Mac to the other.  The operating systems are system specific. First make sure your system doesn't need a firmware update to get 10.2 or later on it. You'll need to install 9 on it if it does, direct from a 9 retail CD that is compatible with it *.  This disc can't say Upgrade, Dropin, or OEM. To determine compatibility, identify your G4 tower:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3082
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42739
Then look at the OS 9 compatibility:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25517
    Then apply the correct update
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86117
The last Mac OS 9 to come retail is 9.2.1, and that's newer than 9.0.4, 9.0.2, and 9.1.
Your ghost image can be done using cloning software, but then you'll have to use a retail 10.3 installer and 10.3.9 combo update on the G4 tower.  Then use the Migration Assistant to import the data from the clone of the iBook. The 10.3 retail disc looks like * and does not say upgrade, dropin, or OEM.  The 10.3.9 combo update is here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/macosxcombinedupdate1039.html
The clone to an external hard drive can be done with these instructions*:
http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html The import of the external hard drive with the migration assistant can be done with these instructions:

  • How can I set up engineering notation in numbers '09?

I am taking some electronics courses in college and need to be able to use engineering notation ie: 1E-3, 9E6, etc. How can I best set this up in Numbers '09? All of my entries are automatically being formated as scientific notation (not multiples of 3) and the only other option I can find is just standard numbers. Thank you for your assistance.

    Good Evening All,
eBomber's solution works if the OP has Excel (but as Jerry noted, the OP has not responded, so we are talking amongst ourselves).
    Jerry's solution, using LEFT() works.
I found this works, using RIGHT() to grab the exponents of the straight Scientific value and Scientific divided by 10 and 100. (No need to consider the + or - of the exponent at this stage). Then find MOD(<each exponent>, 3) and test with IF() to see which MOD is zero (i.e. which exponent is an exact multiple of 3). Then grab the relevant ("Engineering") value from Columns B, C or D.
In Cell E2 and Filled Down:
    =IF(MOD(RIGHT(B2,2),3)=0,B2,IF(MOD(RIGHT(C2,2),3)=0,C2,IF(MOD(RIGHT(D2,2),3)=0,D 2,"")))
Hide Columns B, C and D for a neat look.
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • How t o set up a network between G4 and a PC running  XP

I read with interest the responce to a recent topic on a similar theme. I already have a home network involving 1 x G4 PowerMac running OS X 10.4.9, 1 x G4 PowerBook running OS X 10.4.8, 1 x G5 PowerMac running OS X 10.4.9 and a PC running XP. My problem is accessing the Macs from the XP and I though I might have solved it by visiting the mac-connect.com site refered to in the topic. However the set up procedure outlined at mac-connect involves input by editing the user account data through systems preferences but I'm not able to see those screens on any of my Macs? Consequently, I'm wondering if they are based on an older version of OS X and if so, whhat is the procedure now?

    Hi John,
You wouldn’t believe how long it’s taken me to find a satisfactory solution to this particular facet of my networking issues. Then just recently I discover this forum and bingo! – in a quiet sort of way, you’ve given me what looks to be the answer. Well all I can say is award yourself the CDM, or whatever is your favourite sweet or tipple. I’m not so sure about the sharepoints yet, I seem to be swapping the files I need to ok, but I haven’t tested it to the full yet.
    Thanks again
    Geoff

  • How can I set up itunes to maunally sync, we have had to buy a new pc, which wants to erase and save when we connect the nano, how can I keep old files on Nano?

Can anyone tell me how I can stop itunes syncing and erasing the data on the nano now we are on a new pc?

I think you only have two choices when you hook up an iPod to a computer. One is to sync to it, which will replace all of the content if it's a different computer from the one where the iPod content came from in the first place (your situation). The other is to not sync, which I think is for people who may want to use their iPods as storage disks, the way you might use a USB thumb drive these days. In that case, you wouldn't replace your content with what is in the iTunes of the new computer, but you also won't be able to put additional content on.
There is one new wrinkle with later versions of iTunes. You can transfer iTunes Store purchases from an iPod to a new computer, but it won't do the same for non iTunes Store purchases, like the CDs you burned. Those will have to be transferred to the new computer and synced back to the iPod. Since you have to do that anyway, you might as well just transfer all of your iTunes content from the old computer to the new one, and then take the time to sync all the content back onto the iPod. If you do it at night, you won't be troubled by the delay.
If you have content on the iPod that you no longer have (maybe your old computer crashed before you could back it up), there are some programs that claim to be able to transfer all content from iPod to computer. I've only seen them mentioned here on the forum, so searching here or on Google might be a start.

  • How do you set the size / bounds of a waveform chart at run time?

I have a plot area that I would like to fill with as many waveform charts as the user specifies (at run time). The "bounds" property is read only and I haven't noticed an additional "size" property for a waveform chart as there is for a button. Is there a way to set the size of a waveform chart at run time, and if not, why not? (Labview 6.1)

Look at it a little more carefully, I suspect that your assumption is only half wrong. The property does only resize the plot area--LV resizes the frame to fit the resized plot on it's own.
You'll need to bear this in mind when you're figuring-out what size to set the property to.
