How do i set outputs 3 and 4, 5and 6?

My system is a mac book pro attached via usb to a roland sh-201. The roland is the core audio input and output. Currently all tracks go through the roland. What I am trying to do is send one track back to the roland and send any other track through another output. (such as the headphone port). I tried to set those tracks to surround and send suround to output 3-4 instead of stereo output 1-2. But i dont know what output 3-4 is set to or how to change it. Any help?

Are you talking about the headphone out on the mac or the Roland? If you want to use the MBP headphone jack you will have to create an Aggregate Device.  Launch Audio MIDI Setup and search "Aggregate" for instructions on doing this.  I don't have a lot of experience with Aggregates but I think you do take a performance hit vs using a single interface for all of your i/o.  If you just want to use the Roland I don't know if it appears as multiple outputs or not--my motu interface's headphone output can be used as an independant output bus--but, if it does, you would be able to set it up as an Auxiliary Output and add an Aux Send to each of your tracks which would allow you to create a custom mix for the headphone output--typically used for a More Me mix for the performer.  obviously this won't work if the Roland headphone out is just mirroring the main outputs.

See also, the selection components row in the table under http://developers.sun.com/prodtech/javatools/jscreator/learning/tutorials/2/helloweb.html
    It says
One way to preselect items is to call setSelectedValue(Object[]) or setSelectedValue(Object) from the prerender() method. You pass in the return values of the items that you want preselected. Be sure to verify that getSelected() returns null before setting the default options, or you will overwrite the user's selections on a post-back.

  • How to set "Output folder" and "Outputfolder URL" in Flasbuilder 4b1 for combined Java/Flex project with WTP?

    Hi,
how can I set the "Output folder" and "Output folder URL" in Flasbuilder 4b1?
In Flexbuilder 3 I can do this under Project Properties/"Flex Build Path"
Under "Flex Build Path" in F4b1 I can see the settings, but they are not editable.
A message says "The output folder settings for server projects are on the Flex Server Property Page" but under "Flex Server" there is nothing (yet) I can change/set?!
    Is there a workaround?
    Thanks for any pointers!
    Martin Zach

Yes I'm using Flash Builder b1, build 235740. But your settings panel looks different to mine (see attached).
Just a thought. When you created the Flex project, did you choose a server technology at that point already? I just remember from Flex Builder 3 that if you didn't choose a server technology when you created the Flex project then it was a pain in the ** to add it later. It involved editing the .flexProperties file manually if I remember correctly.

  • How do I set the print and paper size in iPhoto 5

Can somebody please help. How do you set up iPhoto 5 so that you define both the the size of the print and the photo paper you use?
For example, I wish to print a 4.5cm x 3.5 cm photo on 6x4 (or 15cm x 10cm to keep all the units the same) paper.
I've seen a post saying how to do it in iPhoto 8, but the drop-downs are different.

I do not remember the locations in iPhoto 5 but there are probably three places to mess with
1 - set the paper size
2 - set the print size
3 - set the paper tray for the printer to use that has the paper size that you set in step 1
these may be in the print sequence or under the file menu as page set up (or similar). If these are not obvious try the Help menu

  • I have two time capsules (1TB, 2TB) and want to use one for another set of Macs (my Family). How do I set both up and keep all the Macs from joining both Time Capsules?

I Have two Time Capsules (1TB and 2TB) and want to set one for business and the other for family - networking seperate Macs to each.

Both should be plugged into the network with ethernet.. if at all possible.
If you have a router already then both bridged otherwise one set to router and one to bridge.
How do you access the TC? Ethernet or wireless?
Are they located in the same area?
You could set different wireless networks.. if they use wireless.. this is nice easy way to do it.
You can set user account in the TC you want the business one to join with.. that will prevent access by the family.
So there is a number of ways.. none are particularly secure btw.. the TC is a home not a business device.. if anybody wants access they press the reset for one second.. pofff all the passwords are default for 5min.. to allow people who forget their password to get access.
On ML you can encrypt TM backups.. this is better for security if that is the problem.. and still use different user profile to prevent access.

  • How do I set up pixels and resolution to print out my illustration?

I want to print my illustration which I'm going to paint on Photoshop 5 to the size of 8x10(inch) at Walgreens.com.  How do I set up the pixels and resolutions in Photoshop to start with?
There was a guideline at Walgreens Photo site, and it says "Minimum Recommended Image Resolution for 8x10 (inch) is 900x720 pixels."  But when I set up the width and height of pixels to 900x720 and resolution at 360 and then painted there, the print outcome was chopped off at top and bottom (I selected 8x10 print size.)
How can I set up the right way so I can print right?
    Thank you!
    -Mitama

OK, it says minimum requirements. Which makes sense, the quality would be horrible below 112 ppi.
    8" x 200ppi = 1600px
    10" x 200ppi = 2000px
    900px / 8" = 112.5ppi
    720px / 10" = 72ppi
Can you see in the above math why part of the picture would be chopped off.
    Lets do it this way:
    900px / 72ppi = 12.5"
    720px / 72ppi = 10"
    900px / 360ppi = 2.5"
    720px / 360pp = 2"
    10" X 360ppi = 3600px
    8" X 360ppi = 2880px
If you specify ppi you must specify the physical dimensions (inches) Especially when the printed paper is a known variable. The pixel dimensions they mentioned was a guideline not a requirement. They only wanted to make sure the quality did not fall below that value.

  • 2012 essentials r2: how to "manually" set up host and virtualized 2012e r2?

So 2012e r2 is supposed to make it easier to setup a virtualized server.
How do we set this up? Found this for OEM partners, but looking for "manual setup" directions:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/341bd905-1d99-4e3d-af16-04aadf9e9ab9/installing-windows-server-2012-essentials-r2-hyperv-role
Can one manually install hyper-v on essentials then setup VM, and then remove some roles to get back to a leaner host? I'd like to set this up manually and add particular drivers and Intel RST management, then remove roles
    thanks

OK thanks!  Now some other questions:
    1.  From what I have been able to determine, if I install Essentials as the DC and root of the domain/forest, I don't need to have CALS for up to 25 users and up to 50 devices (which I assume are other member servers?). I don't want to deal with CALS
and I have only about 15 users, but I have 3 to 5 servers, so this is what I think I want to do, install 2012 R2 Essentials as the DC and root of the domain. Am I right about the CAL issue, that I won't need them for member servers?
    2.  I am migrating from SBS2008, and on the one SBS2008 server I have Exchange 2007 and SharePoint w/Companyweb.  I understand that I cannot install Exchange 2013 on the DC, and also that I have to do something with Sharepoint which also does not
come with Essentials.  So the question becomes whether to try to install these on VM's or to move them to member servers.  I've read a lot about using Essentials on VM, but it seems with only one VM I cannot install Essentials/Hyper V on the
physical server, and then install Essentials on VM1, and there is no other VM available for Exchange & SharePoint.  But then there is the suggestion in some forum responses to put Essentials as the VM1 of the 2012 R2 Std server, then put Exchange
& Sharepoint on VM2.  If this is done, does the Essentials on VM1 still operate like the DC/root of domain and eliminate the need for CALS or does this all change because it is residing on a 2012 R2 Standard physical server? Without CALS, how would
you log into the physical server to start up the VM1 w/Essentials?
    3. With all this in consideration, maybe this is all just too complicated to recreate all the functions of SBS2008 on one physical server?  Could I not just install Essentials and SharePoint on the physical server used as the DC and root of domain and
then on a 2012 R2 member server install Exchange 2013. I can see now after going through the migration from SBS2003 to SBS2008 that having Exchange on it's own server will make upgrades in the future a lot easier.

  • How can I set my date and time to ebay network time server?

In the system preferences I would like to set the date and time to ebay UK time?
I thought a quick google would be bring up the server and I can't find it.
At the bottom of every ebay page there is a link to official ebay time
But its not a live feed of time to get it to the second.
I want it to be accurate so that I can use applescript to snipe bargins.
    Many Thanks
    Matt

Just trying to go along the free route. I found Garage Buy   This doesn't work to well but lets you create an applescript and enters the auction into ical. Then you can set ical to run the script once it gets closer to the time.
Ical only lets you set a time of a minute before the date. So you have to edit the script to add a Delay 59 to have it run 1 second before. From a few refreshes of the time page it looks like ebay time is a second behind, that could be easily be due to time to load the page. anyway i'll opt for a delay of 57secs and give that a try.

  • How can I change Output Method and Mailbox# programmatically (without GUI)?

We have several iR5075s and about 300 workplaces. For security reasons we only allow "Store" output method. So every user has access to some printers and for every printer they need to reconfigure printing preferences.
For convenience we'd like to do the following automatically (via Group Policy or scripts):
    1) Change "Output Method" to "Store".
    2) Set the correct mailbox number.
The problem is that the related settings seem to be stored in registry as a binary blob (HKCU\Printers\Connections\<printer name>\DevMode). I've been searching for a while but I couldn't find anything that would explain what's what in that blob.
    Any clues?
    Or maybe there's another way?
P.S. I'm familiar with scripting, regular expressions, etc. Acquiring the necessary parameters (such as mailbox#) is not a problem at all. I only need to know where and what I should change (in registry or elsewhere).
[Edit] Update: Actually it seems the settings are stored in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Print\Providers\Client Side Rendering Print Provider\<user sid>\Printers\Connections\,,<server name>,<printer name>\RemotePrinterCache. It's also a binary blob though.
Eventually I'll reverse engineer it enough for my goals. I just don't understand why it must be so complicated...

But I'm not sure how useful you'll find it. I wrote it as a temporary solution (we're now migrating to UniFlow) and it's anything but universal. At best, I guess, you'll be able to salvage some of my code while writing your own.

  • How to loop an output array and pass each index to the next VI in the sequence in TestSTAND?

    Hi,
I have 2 VIs - XX and YY. The output of XX generates an array of strings.
The input of YY takes in a string. I have VIs XX followed by YY in the
    sequence editor.
For each item in the output array of XX, I want to pass that item into
    YY and execute YY.
How do I do this in TestStand without creating an intermediate VI.
Your help is greatly appreciated folks!
    Thx

    Hi,
What you could do is set the second step to loop.
Then use as one of the parameters to VI YY the string array using RunState.LoopIndex as the array index.
    eg. Locals.MyStringArray[RunState.LoopIndex]
    Hope this helps

  • How do I set up internal and external views in DNS

Setting up a test SNL10.6.8 server behind airport extreme.
Standalone server to run public DNS, iCal, Contacts and Web
I would like to include multiple views in etc/named.conf with statement match-clients{any;}; for public view and match-clients{127.0.0.1/32;10.0.0.0/8;}; for private view.  Server Admin won't let me do this.
    I have two questions.
    1.  Can I effectively secure this setup.
    2. How do I do it?   Do I comment out ' include "etc/dns/publicView.conf.Apple" ' in etc/named.conf and add my own two views or do I use Server Admin to mangae the public view and zones and manually manage the internal zone?
Thank you for your help and advice.

Linux and the BSDs (among other choices) are the full-power, deep-end-of-the-pool roll-your-own solutions. They're excellent choices for a number of application and network services configurations, and for cases with complex or tailored requirements.  The target market is tweakable and easily customized.  Mac doesn't aim there.
Having used and managed BIND on both Mac OS X Server and on other (non-Unix) servers, managing it on Mac OS X Server is simpler, though (as is often the case) you have to manage the server the way Apple expects you to.   The other servers I work with toss you into the BIND configuration files with a text editor, and while that's entirely feasible, it's not what I'd call user-friendly nor simple.  (See first paragraph.)
Running DNS at public servers (such as your ISP) and running a second set of DNS servers on your LAN is easily within reach of the Server Admin tool, and it means you don't have to be delegated, etc., for the public views, and it means your ISP owns securing your external DNS.
If you're accustomed to hand-managing and tweaking your DNS configurations, then Server Admin probably won't do all what you want, if you want to use any of the features of BIND9 past the subset that Server Admin allows you access to.  The question then becomes whether Server Admin does enough of what you need.
Running iCal via VPN is typical and folks that are not on the VPN can use the web interfaces or related, if you're not offering an "open" iCal connection through your firewall.
One other oddity you might want to consider.  Last I checked, BIND9 was also present in client.  Hand-managed.  That might give you a different option here.
