How do i set the background of radioButton Transparentha

Question

i have set an image on the panel and as i have added a radiobutton on it it background is white
and even though i m using this code to paste animage on the panel
private BufferedImage image;
     public Front2( )
          try
               image = ImageIO.read(new File("s1.jpg" ));
          catch (IOException ex)
                    System.out,println("no image found");
and following code for the radio button

     frame = new JFrame("Simple Quiz Game");
                    JPanel mainPanel = new Front2(1);     
     a = new JRadioButton("Easy",true);
                         //a.setForeground(Color.white);
                         a.setBounds(50,100,220,35);
                         b = new JRadioButton("Medium");
                         //b.setForeground(Color.white);
                         b.setBounds(50,150,220,35);
mainPanel.setLayout(null);
                         mainPanel.add(a);
                         mainPanel.add(b);
frame.getContentPane().add( mainPanel);
                         frame.setSize(250,350);
                         frame.setVisible(true);
                         frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
please help me out
when i run the program the radio button appears on the image
with white color
can't i set the color to transparent so that the image will became background to the
raadio button
