in order to restore your songs and apps, you should just reconnect to itunes and sync your data. your phone ran a backup before it upgraded, and you can also do a restore. but the key is still to go to your itunes and sync back to your phone what you wanted there in the first place.

  • How do I restore my iTunes library when "Previous iTunes Library" is not showing up in iTunes folder?

I turn off my PC with Windows 7 for an hour, turn it back on and suddenly the only songs that show up are ones in the Cloud.
I looked through a bunch of questions on the Apple Support Communitities and they all say look for the "Previous iTunes Library" in the iTunes folder, but it's not there.
    Thanks.

If you have AVG AntiVirus the issue may rear its head again. See this post.

  • I've lost my music, how can i restore my iTunes from a "Previous iTunes Library"?

my music library is still intact but when i try to play my music, it tells me i need to locate it.
I didn't delete my music and i have quite a few important files,
one of my "Previous iTunes Library" has a date when i know it worked,
I still have all the music files working on my iPhone so this is stopping me from syncing my iphone.
How do I reset it back to how it was and get my music back?
Or at least transfer the songs back from my iPhone (They're not purchased)
    Thanks.

For general library squiffiness following an upgrade the easiest thing is to restore your last backup, but I guess if it were that simple you wouldn't be here.
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these andcopy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup! For example grab SyncToy 2.1, a free tool from MS. This can be used to copy your entire iTunes library (& other important data folders) onto another hard drive or network share. You can then use SyncToy periodically to synchronise or echo your library to the backup. A preview will show which files need to be updated giving you a chance to spot unexpected changes and during the run only the new or updated files will be copied saving lots of time. And if your media is all organised below the main iTunes folder then you should also be able to open the backup library on any system running the same version of iTunes regardless of drive letter or path.

  • What happened to my music? tried sync on new computer and now i lost 980 songs

HELP! probably too late, but I had lots of old beatles and other sentimental songs that went away.

You can sync iTunes purchases from the computer to an iPad.
For non iTunes purchases see the post by Zevoneer here > Transfer Non-Purchased Songs?: Apple Support Communities

  • ITunes creates duplicates when Adding a Folder

Lately, whenever I add a folder to iTunes it creates a duplicate of each song. I have to go in and delete each occurance -- very irritating. I have the Sound Check volume adjuster in Preferences enabled. Maybe it has something to do with that. Any ideas?

No, I do it the normal way. I simply use the Add Folder function and locate the folder on my computer, which is always in a separate directory. I do not put the folder in the music library. Usually, I delete the original folder once the music files have been copied. Basically, iTunes is duplicating the files for no apparent reason -- it's certainly nothing I'm doing.
BTW, once iTunes has completed copying to the iTunes folder, it adds a "1" to the duplicated file. For example, in the iTunes folder "Joy Division\Substance," the duplicated files are represented this way:
    Joy Division - Transmission (1979).mp3
    Joy Division - Transmission (1979) 1.mp3
You can't have two files with the same name in Windows' folders.
    Thanks for your suggestions, though!

  • Just emigrated from the UK to Canada, changed mobile provider and synced to itunes as final step (on my daughters laptop) and lost 3000 songs!!  Can I recover them?  My main PC is in the UK in my sisters loft.  Last good back up early Nov.  Help!

This issue is also complicated I suspect by me changing emails prior to emigration and not great use of my additional icloud storage.  I am sure I had itunes on my icloud but cannot see it for the life of me now.
Having read a few posts what has happenend is I have stuck the USB cable into my daughters laptop with her own itunes on there.  I didnt realise this until after the dreaded event!
Is it possible to back up remotely?  What other options are there?

If you still have your files on your iPod, you can recover them from there see this post from Zevoneer:

If not, there are Windows undelete utilities which you can find with Google, but it is a chancy business and you should use your PC as little as possible if you are going to try it. Windows doesn't actually remove a deleted file, but it makes its space available for reuse.
Typing Windows XP undelete into Google finds as fair bit, but I haven't used one of these programs myself so I can't recommend one.

  • I tried to sign up for your password saving system the other day. In doing so I had to create a master password. I now have lost the master password--it wouldn't accept most of my choices--and now I'm locked out of many of my websites.

keep on getting the message Password Required--please enter master password for security software security device.
    I have a MacBook pro 10.6.8

    See:

If you reset the master password then you lose all stored passwords.
You can try to use the Time Machine to restore both key3.db and signons.sqlite to versions when you didn't had the master password.

  • I think I've been sent a scam message and now ive lost my emails

    IPadair
    version iOS 8
thirty - forty suspicious emails appeared in my hotmail inbox.
    I deleted WITHOUT opening them.
a message box appeared with reference to "server" and option for "mail to fix" (or something like that), which I clicked on.
from then on, mail no longer being pushed through to ipad.
I have deleted the hotmail account from iPad as first aid measure, but now I suspect my other mail accounts (icloud and work email) are failing to stay in my inboxes for more than minutes.
    can you help??

iTunes states " There's a problem with your Iphone, please contact apple service center " Also i took my iphone to a local service man and he told me the IMEI code has been corrupted and there's nothing that can be done about it. Please help, if you have any solution.
    Thank you

  • Did 10.4.4 update now ive lost sound

    hello
last night i did software update on my g4 titanium laptop. i had 10..4.3 updated to 10.4.4.
after restart i noticed sound was not working on machine. i went to prefs --> sound --> output. it says "no output devices found" and thus there were no options for "settings for output device".
still in prefs --> sound under "sound effects", i had to check "show volume in menu bar" but when i click the volume in menu bar it dissapears and in sound prefs the option is unchecked, even though i had just checked it.
ive already read a few other issues people are having. who knows what else might be lurking i have not discovered yet.
i know my wife did the update on her g4 today and her mail client was acting nutso. not sure if its related. even though the smtp & pop was definately set right, she was continually getting various pop & smtp error msgs and sending rcvg was hit &y miss.
im doing this post in hope someone may have a suggestion and also that hopefully apple tech will see and be aware.
    thanks all

  • I have an iphone4S when i first got it everything was fine, my husband accidentally erased my mail and contacts from apple account and now ive lost 500 or so contacts how do i retrieve my contacts step by step please.

    Hi guys,
I bought a Ipad, Iphone and an Imac all at once, learning it is a bit overwhelming.  so in practicing my husband removed what he thought were defunct accounts that apple had automatically on the phone.  When he did so all the contacts from my iphone disappeared.  I do not know how to retrieve my accounts, nor to be able to restore my lost contacts, over 500.
If you guys can help with restoring the lost accounts, that be great, and also step by step restore my contacts to my iphone.

thank you guys i have worked out this little number.  becausse i didnt want to lose any old data, i didnt ohoose to go through the steps to wipe Icloud.  I prayed the old data was still there and backed up my data from icloud.
In 30 mins or so, checked it and it was all there!
Many thanks for answering my queries.  you rock!
