How do I set up iTunes on a new PC so that my iphone will sync without losing all data?

I have migrated all of my music to the new PC, but when I plug the iphone in to sync, it tries to erase everything and set up the iPhone as a new phone on that PC.
How can I make the move to a new PC without having to completely reset my iphone data?

Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
If you have copied everything from the old computer to the new one, then sync al of the info to the iphone.

My guess is that you previously synced the iPhone with a different computer in the past. You will probably want to set up Home Sharing.

If you don't have your old computer, but you made regular backups of it, restore the most recent backup using the backup software that you used to make the backup. You will have to read the instructions for it.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

Well the title says it all really.
I have to sync my iphone 4 with my new laptop as the old one broke. How do I do this without losing all my pictures, music, contacts & things purchased form the itunes store?
It seems really silly that everything gets wiped off the phone when using a different laptop. This problem must happen quite often as I am sure I am not the only person who has had a pc that has broken.
I hope you someone can help. All the stuff on my phone is important to me.

I bought a new MacBook Pro with Retna display to replace a dead gateway running Windows XP. My iPhone 4 was always connected to the old gateway and I synced to the iTunes on it. Now I have my new MacBook up and running and have logged into its new iTunes and synced my new iTunes to my Apple ID and to the apple store. Everything looks good in the new iTunes. Problem is now when I connect my old iPhone to the new computer it's iTunes warns of my iPhone data about to be erased. How can I prevent losing all my stuff. I don't want to lose all my text messages on the iPhone. What can I do to prevent losing everything from my phone?

So why do you suppose we get this awful warning when we connect our iPhone to a new computer that all data on the phone will be deleted if we continue? Furthermore why don't we get a further explanation as to what to do sat that point?
I can not stand warnings like this that make me feel like I have done something wrong, that somehow I may be violating my terms of service. All that legalize is not customer friendly. Apple has always impressed my more that any company with excellent personal customer service but this is not good the way they scare you when you honestly are trying to move to a new computer with your old iPhone.

I had my iPhone synced with my work computer, but I recently landed a new job, so I need to be able to sync my iPhone with my new work MacBook. Can someone give me step-by-step instructions on how to preserve my data so it migrates unchanged onto my new computer? I read that contacts, bookmarks, etc are easy, but photos and iTunes are not. I'm really afraid of erasing everything...

Good that you have a backup of your iTunes library.
You need to transfer your iTunes content from your backup to your new Mac. In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can by synced with a single computer only. When syncing iTunes content with your new Mac, all iTunes content on your iPhone will be erased first - even though you are syncing with the same iTunes library transferred from your former Mac. This will be followed by re-transferring selected iTunes content to your iPhone.
If you never transferred any photos from your old Mac to your iPhone, you have nothing to worry about in regards to photos on your iPhone. Photos captured by your iPhone are not included with or touched during the iTunes sync process. You can import these photos with iPhoto or with the Image Capture application on your new Mac.
The sync process for contact information, calendar events, and bookmarks is a bidirectional or true sync process.
If the Address Book and iCal on your new Mac are empty, enter one contact in the Address Book and one calendar entry in iCal on your Mac before syncing this content - make these up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt for this data when syncing, which you want to select.
My old work computer was authorized with iTunes.
If your old work computer was authorized with your iTunes account with iTunes, you need to de-authorize this computer with your iTunes account. If not, someone else will be able to purchase iTunes content from the iTunes Store with iTunes on the computer using your account.

How to add a new dimension in ASO cube without losing all data

Hi,
I have an ASO cube with 18 dimensions and I want to add a new one (regular). When I add this new dimension it asked me that the all data has to cleared before the restructure can take place. If I click yes then I would lose all data regardless of the fact if I have a level0 export or not. Because when I tried to reload the export back into the cube it gave me an error cause all the dimensions were not present in the export. Does anyone know how would I be able to accomplish this task?

You can try this work around solution.
1) Export Lev0 data
2) Clear the cube
3) Add new dimension Regular.
4) Add a default member Reg00 in the new dimension and save.
5) Open the Lev0 data in a text editor, Insert "Reg00" in the begining of the file and Enter.
6) Lev0 file will have first record "Reg00" and the remaining export file will be from the second record.
7) Load the modified file with out rule file.
You can verify that all your history data will be loaded w.r.to the Reg00 of the New dimension Regular.

You need to copy the entire /Musci/iTunes/ folder from old computer to new computer.
