How do I stop receiving someone else' messages? The phone number on the machine's not mine. Signing in and out of Apple ID did not fix the problem.
My brand new MacBook Air is receiving my partner's iMessages instead of mine, and all messages I send, go as from him. (Which has been highly embarrasing).
I've already checked that my macine is linked to my Apple ID, which only has my phone numbers associated with it. I have already signed out, and signed back in.
It is a brand new machine. But I believe I entered his number instead of mine when initially setting up my MacBook, and can't figure out how to change the phone number associated with this machine.
His number is the only number which appears under: "You can be reached for messages at:" under Settings/Accounts.
You can not change the number. That is linked to the phone the Apple ID is used on. Is he signed in on his phone with your Apple ID? Are you sharing an Apple ID?
If you are sure you are signed in with your Apple ID and he is not using yours on his phone, then check the settings for iMessage on your phone: Settings > Messages > Send & Recieve. Is that the correct number? If so turn off iMesssage on your phone then turn it back on. Go back to your Mac and sign oput of iMessage then back in.

IPad 2 stopped receiving iMessages sent to my phone number
I have an iPad 2 and an iPhone 4S. When I got the iPad, I was able to sync it with my iPhone just fine. It was sending and receiving iMessages that were directed to my iPhone phone number, and the messages on the two devices were syncing perfectly, all the time.
Then about a week ago, my iPad stopped receiving iMessages that were sent to my iPhone. When I look at the iMessage settings on the iPad, my phone number is no longer listed under the "send and receive" area.
The only troubleshooting I have tried so far is turning iMessage off and then back on on the iPad, and rebooting it. That hasn't worked...any other suggestions?I would sign out of iMessage on your iPad and make sure its signed back in with the same apple id that you are using on your iPhone, if still does not show on iPad try doing the same steps on the iPhone. You choose whether to see text messages in Notification Center or not. If you elect to see them, they will display the phone number (unless they are from a contact in your contacts list).
You can choose not to see them at Settings > Notification Center > Messages. -

Actually, I did notice the thread age. However, this phenomenon only appeared with mu phone in the last week.
You and I both would hope that it was corrected long ago, but that is evidently not the case.
I added information that will be useful for anyone else encountering my recent situation, now or perhaps in some distant future.

Anyone know how to change the phone number associated with imessage...This is an ipod touch so there is no sim card.
The iPod (and iPad) only have a phone number if the same Apple ID is used for Settings>Messages>Send and Receive is also used for an iPhone. Thus you need to get another phone number for the phone.

How can I fix dialing speed after pause in the phone number
iPhone has extention dialing capabilities after the phone number is dialed it's pauses for 2 seconds and continues with extention number. It's dosen't works with iPone 5, it's pauses 6 to 8 second for each extention number. Is anyone have same problem ane how can it be fixed?

I cannot think i invited those people to send me suchmails.

I got messages from someone sending with a noreply@klgld.... The person uses diferent names. These mailmessages cannot be traced and I wonder whether i can change settings in Mail to avoid these messages.
Have I to change my account or make another one?

This is the strangest thing i've ever run into...it appears that i'm receiving someone else's e-mail... does anyone know what could be causing this, and what can be done about it?...has this happened to anyone else on the forums, andhow did you fix it?....thanks! How can I stop my incoming text messages from going to my daughter's iphone? I have the 4s she has the 4. When she got the latest update, everything on our phones synced. She got her own apple id, but she is still getting all of my text messages.
This is with iMessages only, and because she has the same email address available and selected under You can be reached at at Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

My friend recently switched from iphone to blackberry, but my messages to her are still sent as imessage. how can i send it as a normal message? she doesn't receive any of my messages. her phone number is saved in my phone under the phone tab, not iphone.
Sounds like your friend didn't disable iMessage on his/her iphone before switching. Have your friend do the following:
Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Log in if not already logged in.
Click on "edit products"
Click on the "x" to the right of his/her old iPhone.
Click "unregister"
This should unregister it with the iMessage server, which will allow you to send texts as normal SMS.
On your iPhone make sure you have Settings>Messages>Send As SMS set to ON. -
