How do I tell iTunes....

How do I tell iTunes that I want all songs that I copy to my iPhone to also be copied to mt iPad please? anyone?
Thank you
Fredy

Select your device in iTunes.
Click the tabs across top and select what you want to sync.
Do the same for the other device.
You can creates playlists and sync only those playlists to each device.
Then add/delete from a playlist and items will be added/removed from the device you sync that playlist to.

I'm too old to learn iCal.  How do I tell iTunes to synch with Outlook for Mac for all of the Contacts and the Calendar on my iPhone and iPad??
Also, once I figure out how to replace iCal with Outlook/Mac on iTunes, how do I synch the phone and pad so that the information on those devices over-writes onto Outlook as a backup, rather than having a blank Calendar on Outlook wipe out all of the information on the phone and pad???
    Thanks

If you haven't tried already, plug your devices into iTunes, and on each device next to the "Summary" tab at the top is another tab called "Info." Click that and scroll down to Contacts, Calendars, etc. There should be a pull down bar under each category for "Sync contacts from..." and you should be able to select from that pull down list Outlook.  Hit Apply at the bottom and see if that does it.

  • How do I tell itunes (on a Windows XP PC) to start adding downloaded files to an external drive ? Starting itunes while pressing the shift key and then choosing works only for a MAC, I think. I only need this one final step. All is copied already

How do I tell itunes on a Windows XP PC to start downloading new songs to my external drive ? The whole library has already been moved. I am just one final step away. Everything I`m downloading still lands on C: Relaunching itunes while pressing "shift" and then getting prompted to choose library might work for a Mac, it doesn't for Windows.

In iTunes click on 'Edit', then 'Preferances', Click on the 'Advanced' button, change the entry in the 'iTunes media folder location' to point to your external drive.

  • How do I tell iTunes not to install on sync apps that I downloaded?

I upgraded my SSD on my Mac and I thought I'd download all my apps so they were backed up on my computer. However, now iTunes tries to install them all on my iPhone whenever I try to sync it. I don't have nearly enough space on my iPhone so I always get a bunch of "ghost" apps and an error message that my iPhone is out of space every time I sync. How do I tell iTunes not to attempt to install these on my iPhone on sync? The only options to choose from are "Install" and "Will Install".
    Thanks.
    I have OS X 10.9.3, iTunes 11.2.2 (3), and iOS 7.1.1.

The easiest way is to simply remove the previous apps from your account, then sync all your apps. You can remove unwanted apps via iTunes. If you want a step by step instructions go to: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-delete-unwanted-ios-apps-from-itunes/

  • How do I tell iTunes Match NOT to upload a song / audio file?

I produce music in Logic Pro and later play in iTunes for additional listening and testing.  How do I tell iTunes Match NOT TO UPLOAD certain songs or audio files?   I have to continously delete files from the cloud.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi,
It's all or nothing with iTunes Match. If the track is a valid format it either matches or uploads.
Do you want to keep the tracks in itunes? If so, I suggest that you create a second blank library then turn on match. This will show all your tracks in the cloud. If a track uploads, you can delete it from the cloud using this new library. When you revert to your original library, the track will still be present but the iCloud status will now be "removed" instead of "uploaded". You can see iCloud status in song view by going to menu > view > view options and tick box. Match will now ignore this track when scanning your library.

  • How can I tell itunes to install iPhone App updates automatically?

ITunes 12 can download app updates. Right now I have to connect my iPhone, go the installed apps and click on (for each updated app) "update" to change it to "will update" and then click "sync". How can I tell iTunes to automatically update any updated app currently on the iPhone?

I know they need to be converted, but the problem is, 2000 of the 5000 have already been converted. now it's trying to convert them again. but there is no reason for that. i want to know how to convert the other files that weren't converted yet, without having to re-convert the ones that were already done.
I would move the ones that were done to a separate folder, but I don't know exactly what ones were done. In iTunes, they are the first 2000 or so in the list, but on my hard drive they are not in the same order.
Does anyone else know if there's a way to do this?

  • How do I tell iTunes to look in a new location on my PC for iPod Games?

How do I tell iTunes to look in a new location [or folder] on my PC for iPod Games or even IPhone/iTouch Apps? I mean if I have moved them to an external USB drive? Is this even possable? I have found them on in C:\Documents and Settings\....\iPod Games and I want to tell iTunes to now looh in F:\iPod Games.
    Thanks for any kind responces!

    Thanks for the tip.
But I just complicated the matter by trying to tell itunes to sync my purehaces from an iTouch to the current library all appeared to be going well while copying purchaced music though it was going to the oriinal folder on C: but it looks like as soon as it got to the apps it crashed and an error window poped up saying itunes needed to close, now when I start itunes again the same error window pops up saying itunes needs to close. I would like to try what you suggest though, could you please explain if i nees only copy the itl file or would i be better off copying the entire iTunes Library folder including the sub folders Album Artwork, Mobile Applications, iPod Games, iTunes Music, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library.xml?
    Thanks again..

  • How do I tell itunes to use a different folder on a different hard drive?

Here is the question in more detail.
Itunes sets a default for saving all of my itunes content.
I want to move this to a bigger drive in my machine.
How do i tell itunes to use this different spot as the default for saving and pulling all of these files?

  • How do I tell iTunes where to find my default Outlook 2013 pst file?

How do I tell iTunes where to find my default Outlook 2013 pst file - I do not use the default location and I am not using Exchange?

Basically now what you will have to do is clear your library, and then re-add the music from the external drive (File menu, "Add folder to library").
For future reference though, the best way to handle this situation would have been to first create a "Music" folder on the external drive, set that as the default music folder (Edit menu, Preferences, the General sub-tab under the Advanced tab), and then use the Advanced menu "Consolidate Library" option. This would have copied all your iTunes music to your external drive and re-linked iTunes to that location for each of the songs. Then all you would have had to do is delete the song files off the computer's hard drive, and it wouldn't have had any effect on the iTunes library.

  • How can I tell iTunes to NOT convert certain files from wma format?

I just got an iPod classic, and downloaded iTunes and it automatically started adding all my music. I have almost 5000 songs that are in wma format, and it started converting them all. Then after it got almost 2000 songs finished, it just stopped. For no reason. So I tried to continue it, and apparently there is no way to just continue where it stopped. It started over at the beginning and is now re-converting all the files it already converted.
It took over 24 hours to convert those first 2000 files. It seems completely unnecessary that it should have to re-convert them all over again.
Is there any way that I can tell it NOT to convert those specific files? I figured that you should be able to right-click the file and say "DO NOT CONVERT" or something along those lines, but that is not an option.
The only other way I've been able to figure out that I could do this is to manually add only the files that it didn't convert last time. But that is over 3000 files, and they are not in the same order on my hard drive that they are on in iTunes so I would never be able to figure out what files were done and what files were not done.
There HAS to be a way to just highlight certain files and tell iTunes NOT to convert them. Hasn't there?
Someone please help me. This is really irritating, and I do not feel like waiting for another 3 days for this to finish. I have other things I need to do on my computer, and it seems that while iTunes is converting, it is making everything else very slow.
    Thank you.

  • How do I tell itunes that my music is located on an SD card without going to find each individual song for itunes?

I ran out of room on my computer so I needed to move my music to my sd card. Each time I try to play a song on itunes it says it cannot be found. If I show itunes where my SD card is located it will play the song. However, I don't want to do this for each of my individual songs. How can I tell my itunes that all of my music is located on an SD card?

Sorry, I should have been clearer ... was your music previously located within the iTunes Media folder, by default C:\Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media)?  If possible, you should move the music back to its original location, verify that your links have been restored (i.e., you can play songs without getting error messages) and then in iTunes:
update these settings in Edit > Preferences > Advanced:
Change this to be something similar on your SD card - ideally, you should have an iTunes folder in the root of the card, and an iTunes Media folder within this.
This setting will ensure iTunes manages the folder structure and files within the iTunes Media folder
This setting tells iTunes to copy any new additions to your library into the iTunes Media folder on the SD card.
If you are prompted to allow iTunes to reorganize files click No.
Now select File > Library > Organize Library... (click Ctrl-B first if you don't see the menu bar), and when you see this prompt:
check the Consolidate files box and, if not greyed out, the Reorganize files ... box, then click OK.
iTunes will now copy your music from its existing location(s) to the iTunes Media folder on your SD card
When this process completes, check that everything plays correctly, and also check a few songs (right-click > Get Info > File tab) to verify that the location information held by iTunes is on the SD card.
Once everything looks OK, you can delete the music files/folders from their original location(s) on the C: drive.
The underlying issue here is that iTunes doesn't keep track of the location of your media files if you move them yourself.  The process described above uses iTunes to move the files, and therefore to update its database so that is has the correct locations.

  • How to mass tell iTunes where moved songs can be found

I am moving songs from my computer to my external hard drive, and of course iTunes does not know where I moved the songs to. I was wondering if there was an easier way to tell iTunes where the entire CD was located as opposed to clicking on the explanation mark next to each song and doing it individually song by song.
    Thanks in advance.

Yeah, there is a way. Go to the preferences (I think it is in the edit menu for Windows machines). Click on the advanced tab and you can change the location of the iTunes music folder.
