How do I turn off tap to click on the touchpad. I have a windows 8.1 64 bit HP15-R264DX laptop
Hi Try this Go to your control panel,
Click on Hardware and Sound.
Once there, under Device and Printers, click on Mouse.
A small box (Mouse Properties) will open up.
Click on the "ClickPad Settings Tab".
Once there you will click on "ClickPad Disable".
A small box will open up letting you know that you are about to disable the only active Synaptics pointing device, just click OK.
You will then want to click apply, then OK

This has been frustrating me since I upgraded....
So lately I've been having to make faux pixel art for work. I've been using the shape tool and a grid to achieve the look.The process used to be painless, but with this new One-Click Shape Tool popup, it's driving me nuts!!!!
I'm using a simple rectangle tool which in the settings I set to a FIXED SIZE of 18px by 18 px, so every time I draw a square it snaps to that size. Great! The issue is with this new PS6/CC "improvement" if I don't drag the mouse and instead click while making the shape, I get this ANNOYING popup. It asks to input the height and width and has a check box to draw the shape from the center.
Now, since I'm making pixel art, I'm dropping several 18 by 18 shapes a second... you can imagine how often this STUPID popup interrupts my flow. PLEASE tell me there is a way to turn this off. WHY would it ask for dimensions when I already locked the size in the shape options. *sob* Please help me....It's not a bug though. This was a feature added to Photoshop 6/CC, I'm just wondering if there is a way to turn it off.
It's very easy to reproduce this feature. Have any shape tool selected (rectangle, ellipse, polygon, etc) and click on the canvas without moving the mouse. That's it.
It's just frustrating to get this popup when I already have it set to fixed size. -

"There should be a Synaptics icon in the taskbar or the bottom right of the screen. Go there and from there you should be able to disable clicking on the track-pad hopefully. It should work although I never used HP, always used Dell. "
I couldn't find any icon. I need help with this.

Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall your Touchpad driver ( probably Synaptics, but could be Alps depending on your specific Model ) - the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the relevant document on the link below.
Recovery Manager - Windows 8.

Recovery Manager - Windows Vista
After the reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook, let Windows fully reload and then see if double-tapping the top left corner of the pad will now enable/disable it.

How do I turn off the volume clicks in Mavericks?
Or at least turn them down? They are way too loud when using Ableton. I found ways to do it for previous versions of osx, but I can't find anything for Mavericks.
There are two things to try.
(1) Press shift key when adjusting volume.
(2) In System Preferences, Sound, Sound Effects, uncheck the checkbox "Play feedback..."

How can I turn-off the apps which I have opened once in ISO 7.0.2. In previous version of ISO it was easy to turn-off the opened apps by double clicking on home button and then click and hold on respective apps then click on cross sign but in this version I could not do so and my iPad appears slower.

How can I turn off Recently Visited Websites when opening new Safari window?
After tapping on the two overlapping boxes on the bottom right of Safari, a new blank window appears with Favorites, but now in iOS 8, recently viewed websites are listed. How can I turn this function off? I do NOT want my new Safari windows to have history displayed of previous websites I visited. I only want my Favorites (on the top) to be displayed. Please help.

Let me try to ask my question a little more clearly:
When I tap the two overlapping boxes on the lower left (the option to Open New Windows), the new Window that appears will show your Bookmarked FAVORITES. But with my new iPhone 6, and the new iOS 8.0.2, when I tap the two boxes to open a New Window, my Bookmark Favorites show (as they always have and should), but below them, there is a dividing line underneath them, and it says Recently Viewed Websites, and has these websites available to tap.
So my question is, HOW DO I TURN THESE OPTION OFF?
*UPDATE (10.13.14): Since I have asked this question, I no longer see these Recently Viewed Websites under my Bookmarked Favorites in my new Window tabs. So I hope that Apple fixed it, or somehow it was a mistake, or somehow I changed an Option on my iPhone 6 that stopped this for reoccurring.

How do I turn off the Genius app in App Store. I've gone to Settings/Privacy/Location Services/System Services then swiped Genius for apps 'off''. Also, I've gone to Settings/ITunes and App Stores/Click on AppleID/View Apple ID and then turn off Genius. Still nothing has worked. I'm still stuck with Genius offering the same apps to me. Mind you, once I click on the App Store there is nothing I can do but swipe left and right. There's absolutely nothing at the bottom of the screen like a features tab, nothing. There is, however, a categories button at the top, but that's it. Irrelevant.
FWIW, I just got off the phone with Apple technical support about this. I use Genuis for creating playlists, so I don't want to disable it, but Apple support confirmed that there is no way to avoid syncing Genius data without disabling Genius altogether. I'd read somewhere else that subscribing to iTunes Match might allow you to avoid this, but that is NOT the case, as I've confirmed, and Apple support has confirmed. For me, it routinely syncs thousands genius of items, so I have to allow a lot of time for my manual syncs.

Now you swipe downward, the app will appear and you delete, keep scolling to the right as in the past. With the new operating system you also swipe downward to get the search bar to find an app

I accidently clicked for a full screen view on Firefox and now I can't undo it. My bar with tools, bookmarks, etc. is not visible. As the browser opens, the bar appears but then jumps up where it can't be reached. How do I turn off the full screen without access to view options?
Co-el, This wasn't possible as there wasn't a navigation bar available. The F11 did the trick though. Thanks for adding to the discussion.

I recently bought Iphone 4s. I like the phone as such but one thing that I want to change is tap display while entering the passcode on lock screen. I don't want to see which keys I am entering as this can put my phone on risk as anyone close to me can see what keys I had pressed to unlock the phone.
