How do I 'upload' files to iCloud Drive from my iPad outside of Pages/Numbers/Keynote?

I want to get files off of my iPad (only 16GB!), specifically photos, PDFs and documents and be able to access them from iCloud when I need them
I don't see an app for iCloud Drive
Nor do I see apps that I would use for PDFs and documents such as Acrobat Reader from which I can store files in iCloud
Help please

Looks like this has been solved by yesterdays IOS8 update - thanks!

  • How to access jpeg files on icloud drive from your iphone (5s)

Can anyone tell me how to access a jpeg file on icloud drive from iphone? I have upgraded my macbook pro (with retina) to Yosemite, and my iphone is on ios 8.01 and I have turned on icloud drive. The only content I have seen online is accessing word docs through Pages which I get - but what about jpeg files? Thank you!

At the moment, you can't.  A favourite complaint.  Hopefully, the situation will change in the near future, but only Apple knows when or if.

  • How to I access documents in icloud drive from my iPad

I set up an icloud drive on my PC and stored my document.  i have icloud set up on my iPad and iPhone.  I can seem to figure out how to access those documents from the iPad or iPhone.  I thought there might be an icloud app for access, but no.
    Any help out there?

Sorry, I do not think rereading is any good. The fact is: I do not see what I "should" see.
I have checked that both on IOS and Mac I use the same icloud account, both have iCloud Drive enabled. On the Mac I have e.g. a custom folder "History"
On IOS, in Documents 5 by Readdle, after tapping icloud in the sidebar and then the iCloud Drive text, I see this: (in list view, alphabetically arranged):
So, my "History" folder does not show up at the "H" and not at the end.
I thinks there is still a fair bit of iCloud related "should's" that do not materialize in practice.
For example, this same History folder is 1.11 GB in size, and when I added it a few months ago, not all files were synchronized (I checked after a week!).
You never get a positive signal that all files have been uploaded. Thus far, iCloud leaves me with that same shaky iDisk feeling of 2007!

Authorize your new computer's iTunes first - Store>Authorize this computer.
    1) Without connecting your iPad to your laptop, start iTunes. Click on Edit. Click on Preferences. Click on Devices. Check the box next to "Prevent your iPod etc. from automatically syncing." Click OK.
    2) Now connect your iPad to your laptop and start iTunes.
    3) When iTunes starts, right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select Transfer purchases etc.
    4) After it finishes transferring all your apps to your new laptop, right click on your iPad and select Backup your iPad.
    5) After it finishes backing up your iPad, right click on your iPad and select Restore etc.
    6) After it finishes restoring, left click on your iPad , then click on the Apps tab on top, and check the box next to Sync Apps, then click on Apply below.
If everything on your iPad looks good after the sync, go back and click on Edit / Preferences / Devices and UN-check the box next to Prevent your iPod etc. The only other thing you may want to check is if your contacts, bookmarks, etc. are syncing correctly now. If not, go to the Info tab after connecting and make sure you indicate which features you want to sync with what sources.

  • How do I upload files to iCloud?

I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious, but I have absolutely no idea how to upload files and music to iCloud. To answer the immediate questions:
-I have the most recent version of OS X
-I have the most recent version os iTunes
-I've set up iCloud in Sysem preferences, logged in and all, and everything seems to be fine.
I simply have to idea how to upload files or music. I'm sure it's something really simple, but I can't figure it out on my own. Please help!
    Thanks,
    Jellyfrank

    Hi.
If you are in the UK, iTunes in the Cloud is only for your itunes store purchased music so far. iTunes match is US only for now until later in the year or possibly early 2012.. Or until the record companies in the UK are happy!
Secondly, to move documents into the cloud, foot
    Http://www.icloud.com and log in.
Select the documents button (far right) and then select the settings (cog wheel) in the top right hand corner. It brings down a drop box and you can add certain documents depending if you are on the 'pages/numbers/keynote' sections.
Think of them as three folders...
Pages tab accepts word, pages, PDF documents etc..
Numbers tab accepts excel, numbers documents etc
And Keynote tab accepts keynote, PowerPoint docs etc.
More will "apparently" be available.. But it's not like an iDisk whee you can put anything you want in there.
If you have an idisk and still wanna access it..
Go to www.me.com and you can use it till 30 June 2012.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to move pdf files into iCloud drive folder

Now that we can have a folder called, say "personal" with pages, numbers and other files in - how can I get my pdf files that are currently in iBooks into these iCloud drive folders. I don't even know where the pdfs from iBooks are! Certainly not in iTunes. I have many dozens of pdfs which could do with sorting into folders with their relevant notes that I make in Pages. I have an IPad Air and an iPad with Yosemite.

Thanks, Niel, though I underspecified the problem a bit because I knew how to do the rest in Automator; unfortunately, I know even less about Applescript.
How do I also specify that the file names must begin with a specific text string (e.g. "journal.").

  • How to create new folders on iCloud Drive from iOS or with document picker?

Recently I wanted to share several files from my iWorks suite with my colleagues. I do not want them to edit these files, instead I made templates in Numbers for easier management of hours worked. Everyone could download their copy and keep a track of their hours themselves. The problem is, not everyone has an Apple product.
Unfortunately, iOS does not support native browsing of iCloud Drive (except the document picker, which, to me, isn't helpful at all), the only way I know of - to create a new folder - is to open iCloud.com in Safari, request the desktop site and make a new folder from there.
Is there another way of creating new folders, preferably an official app from Apple or from within an iWorks app or the document picker that I do not know of? Or is this actually a missing feature?
Also, if Apple could make an app similar to Microsoft OneDrive, that would be great.

Yes, there is a way. Here is the workaround. You can add notes folders directly with your iPad or iPhone.

  • TS4002 How come, when I access my iCloud mail from my iPad, I cannot "attach" a photo or other document?

I can only access attachments, with my iCloud email, if I am on my pc.   I would like to be able to access attachments from my iPad.

The following answers the question you ask in the title of your post...
Because the mail app cannot go into other apps' data, like the photo app.  The way to send email with an attachment is to invoke the app that "owns" the file you want to send.  If that app has a "share" icon (a box with curvy arrow coming out of it) and if clicking that icon offers "mail" as an option, that is how to send an email with the file attached.
However, the body of your post discusses "access"ing attachments.  If you are reading an email and there's an attachment icon at the bottom, press and hold the icon with your finger.  A menu pops up with different choices.  If you can't veiw it because there's no option to do that, then the file type is one that is not compatible with any of the apps onl your iPad.

  • How to delete somebody else's iCloud Account from my iPad Air?

    Hi,
Recently I have bought an iPad Air on a eBay-like site. There the seller said that the item was new but when I chacked the serial number, the device was  already  registered since January. Regardless ths I reset it, created an Apple ID for me and started registering the things under my name. When it came to iCloud, I have  found that all my data was been transferred to somebody else's iCloud account. I tried to delete this account to put mine, but for this it  requires the password of this other user.
I have contacted the seller, who informed that in fact he didn't know about it because he only won it and decided to resell it, but promissed to investigate and try to resolve it, but in fact I guess I cant cound so much on it and I'm pretty dissapointed and  lost with this  situation. Do you  guys know what I could to remove this account?
    Thanks in advance!

You will not be able to find the previous user in any Apple database. They wouldn't share that information with anyone as they would be violating privacy issues - unless of course they were directed to do so by a court order.
There is just something that bothers me about this whole situation and I feel for you, but I would also hesitate to email somebody that I didn't know about asking him to erase his iCloud account. How the iPad could go from one owner to another owner and now to you, without being erased, just gives me a bad feeling, but that's just how I feel about it.
I guess though at this point, you know worlds more about him than he knows about you if you have his name and email address.

  • How do I delete someone's icloud account from my ipad?

This person set up my new ipad with his apple ID instead of letting me create my own, I somehow got rid of it but now I've updated to IOS 8 and for some reason his icloud account is still on my ipad, I can't sign out and use my ID because I have to turn off ''find my ipad'' and it wont let me do that without a password, I have really bad memories of this person and this is driving me insane because it's a constant reminder ,every 15 minutes or so icloud pops up and asks me to sign in with this account. Any help would be much appreciated, and no, there is no way I can get this person's password.

I would recommend the steps in the following article to fully get rid of the previous user's personal data:

  • Read pdf files stored in icloud drive from ios8

Ok. So how do I Access and read my PDF files stored in icloud drive from my ipad?
I´ve read that there´s no icloud drive App like dropbox and that it has to be done from a third party App. (strange enough), but I can´t seem to find a third party App that connects to icloud drive yet.
    Thanks.

The Apple website specifically states "Because with iCloud Drive, you can safely store all your presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, images and any other kind of document in iCloud and access them from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC.".
Now, howe do I "store my PDF" and "access them from my iPhone"?

  • I cannot see the contents of my icloud drive on my ipad

I have uploaded a number of files to my icloud drive on my mac mini.
When i log into icloud.com i can see all the files in my icloud drive.
I have configured and set up icloud on my other devices, all are supporting the latest software.
However i cannot view any of the files on my icloud drive from my ipad.
i have approx 30 mobi files on the drive and i have kindle on my ipad, back up is complet, open kindle no files.
I can email them to myself from the icloud drive and open them in kindle and save to library but that defeats the whole point of having a cloud drive.
    Need help.

Hi, I have this problem too. I've uploaded photos of my granddaughter to iCloud Drive on my 5 year old PC and can see the content on my PC at iCloud .com - though the system does not allow me to see minimised photos, just lots of numbered, blue rectangle icons. I spent over 2.5 hours with Apple Support yesterday and they could NOT resolve the issue in any straightforward manner, though did suggest I go through the same time consuming uploading process placing the same photos in the Beta version of 'Photos' available at iCloud.com. What a cumbersome system. Why hasn't Apple offered an iCloud Drive app (free of charge) so that once content has been placed in iCloud Drive it can Bev retrieved on any iOS device, as Apple suggest. Here is what they say at Apple.com (see also the illustrations they offer for iCloud Drive on an iPad - I was informed yesterday, by two advisors, that they couldn't find way to locate the suggested pages either?)
Storing files in iCloud is simple. Just as it should be.
To upload your files to iCloud, simply drag them into the iCloud Drive on your Mac running OS X Yosemite or PC running Windows 7 or later. Or start a new document using an iCloud-enabled app on your iOS device. Then you’ll be able to access those documents from all your devices.

  • Is it possible to delete iCloud drive from ios8 device

I updated my iPad to IOS8,  not thinking I said yes to iCloud drive.  I use my iPad to type minutes at a meeting and then complete them on my iMac.  Since I do not have Yosemite yet, if I type on my iPad will I not be able to access the document on my Mac?  I have all my completed documents saved on my mac but will any new ones be lost in space if they are started on the iPad?    Is it possible to delete iCloud drive from the iPad.  I know I can turn it off, but that won't help.  Maybe I will be lucky and Yosemite will come out before my next meeting.  It looks like I could probably email a copy from my iPad to my iMac as a pages doc. and then be able to open it in pages.
    Thanks
    Judy

    Hi David:
Thanks.  I see that I could open in icloud pages and I guess work on it there.  I have never worked that way before.  Can you save it back to the mac?  or just to  iCloud?  And I have to send out copies to board members which, I guess, can be done there.  Thanks for your input.  I feel so stupid,;  I even saw the "small print".  Oh well.
