How do terminate a wait condition in a loop?

I have a while loop that uses a Wait.vi to set the timing. When I terminate the loop, it waits for the next iteration of the "wait" to complete. How can I terminate the wait in the middle of an iteration?

There is no way to stop a wait function. In order to get the behavior you want you need to make your own wait function, that uses the tick count VI and just checks to see if the total time has passed, or if you have asked it to stop.
Take a look at the attached VI.

  • How to add a wait condition in OAF

    Hi,
    I have a requirement where i have to wait for a certain interval of time before the next step is executed. PFB the code i have used. But this does not seem to be working.
    try{
    wait(45000);
    catch (Exception e){
    Could someone please let me know if this is the right way of going about this. This code has been added in the processFormRequest method of the CO.

    > Is this possible to add wait
    No, this does not make any sense.
    The BPM waits for the response anyway.
    You could change the scenario to an asynchonous pair of messages.
    But in my opinion the error is inside the ECC, because the response from ECC is not correct.

  • How to terminate a java thread from c++ code?

    Hi,
    I made a screensaver which loads a jvm, forks a thread running a java class, wait until user's action(i.e. mouse move/click keyboard input), then terminate the java thread.
    However, I met a problem, How to terminate a running java thread from c++ code?
    Here is my code, but it does not work: (even after the terminate is called, jvm throws an error)
    JNIEnv* env;
    JavaVM* jvm;
    HANDLE hThread; //handle for the startThread
    unsigned __stdcall startThread(void *arg)
         jclass cls;
         jmethodID mainId;
         jint          res;
         int threadNum = (int)arg;
         res = jvm->AttachCurrentThread((void**)&env, NULL);
    cls = env->FindClass( MAIN_CLASS);
         mainId = env->GetStaticMethodID(cls, "main", "([Ljava/lang/String;)V");
         // setup the parameters to pass to main()
         jstring str;
         jobjectArray args;
         int i=0;
         args = env->NewObjectArray(1, env->FindClass("java/lang/String"), 0); //only one input parameters
         str = env->NewStringUTF("localhost");
         env->SetObjectArrayElement(args, 0, str);
         env->CallStaticVoidMethod(cls, mainId, args); // call main()
         if (env->ExceptionOccurred()) {
                   env->ExceptionDescribe();
         return TRUE;
    Here is the main method:
    First create the jvm and load the thread. then tries to terminate the thread, but failed here
    switch (msg)
    { case WM_CREATE:
              JavaVMOption options[NUMBEROFOPTIONS];
              JavaVMInitArgs vmargs;
              jint rc;
              vmargs.version = JNI_VERSION_1_4; /* version 1.4 */
              vmargs.options = options;
              vmargs.nOptions = NUMBEROFOPTIONS;
              vmargs.ignoreUnrecognized = JNI_FALSE;
              rc=JNI_CreateJavaVM( &jvm, (void **)&env, &vmargs ); /* create JVM */
              /* We pass the thread number as the argument to the invoked thread */
              unsigned int threadId = -1;
              // to initialize a thread-safe C runtime library
              hThread = (HANDLE)_beginthreadex(NULL, 0, &startThread, NULL, 0, &threadId );
    } break;
    case (WM_DESTROY):
              CloseHandle( hThread );
              jvm->DestroyJavaVM(); /* kill JVM */
              Debug("Destroy Java Virtual Machine\n");
    }break;
    Note, after the thread "startThread" runs, it has an infinite loop and will not terminate, until the user clicks to terminate.(I didn't call jvm->DetachCurrentThread();_endthreadex(0); in the "startThread" because the java thread will not terminate by itself)
    Thus, the only way to terminate the thread is to call closehandle(hthread) in the main thread, which may cause jvm to throw an error.
    Do you know how to terminate a java thread safely???
    Thanks a lot

    Assuming that your java thread is in a loop of some kind. Such as
    int i=1; /* I tried using a boolean, I just could not get my C++ env, to change this value. So i decided to use an int */
    run {
    while(i)
    isdfjsdfj
    void seti()
    i=0
    So, B/4, i call destroyVM in my C++ code, i call this seti(). so the loop terminates, therefore my thread finishes executing and ends.
    Hope this helps

  • How to include a time condition in a Vi?

    Hi,
    I need to run an event for one hour and after this time interval has elapsed, I need to stop this event (lets call it event A) and go for event B. I have been trying to work with the Elapsed Time (LabView 7.0) sub-vi with no success. That sub-vi sounded perfect as I could even work with a boolean condition to trigger event B. Basically what I would like to know is how to generate a time condition in which I can input the time and after that time has elapsed I can generate an action to pass to another event? Would it be an simple way of doing so?
    Thanks for the help.
    Adriana

    I may be missing something here, but I think your problem is not the Elapsed Time VI, but the way your events are triggered/controled or chained. Or may be you just forgot to wrap the Elapsed time vi into a loop ?
    See the attached example...
    The "Run event A" sub.vi is intended to trigger event A. Something like commuting a switch or launching a dynamically loaded vi. It should not wait until event A finishes (of course...).
    There are many possibilities... and I'm sure that you will get other solutions.
    Keep wiring !

  • How to terminate background job for MRP

    Hi dudes,
    how to terminate background job set earlier and i want start again with fresh scheduling. as user discontinued using the MRP process.
    thanks inadvance for quick response.
    Robert.

    Robert,
    Just though of sharing the alternate way to do this work, instead of DELETE use CHANGE option.
    1. Execute transaction SM37 for the program "RMMRP000" and Job name what you have specified with job status "Scheduled" check box activated. Job Overivew screen appears
    2. Now select the job in the Job Overivew screen and use Menu bar: Job--->Change or Ctrl+F11. Change Job Screen appears
    3. In the change Job screen Hit the function button Start Condition (Green Flag). Start time screen appears.
    4. In the Start time screen define your Job schedule and save the time parameters and save change job screen. Now your job is scheduled with new parameters what you have entered.

  • How do terminat an IVI session manually

    Hello,
    I am working with a very simple instrument that rotates a wheel to one of six positions. The manufacturer used a set of IVI based drivers. I am so far ignorant of IVI tools. From what I gather, using IVI drivers this allows them to handle any similar instrument without developing new vi's. Sounds reasonable.
    The issue is when I do something stupid like running non-looped vi's using the repetitive run. I only do this for developement purposes to prevent having to keep hitting the run button. However it is possible to hit the abort button and occasionally leaves the session open instead of cleaning up properly. The message I get is
    Driver Status:  (Hex 0xBFFF00A6) The connection for the given session has been lost.
    Primary Error: (Hex 0xBFFA1190) The session handle is not valid.
    With standard drivers I seem to be able to do this and have no problems no matter how I terminate.
    So what is different about an IVI session that allows the session to hang and how do I clear a hung session without having to close Labview?   Is it even possible? Or do I just have to be smart and put a temporary while loop around everything using an IVI just for repetitive testing?
    Thanks,
    IVI Clueless.
    David A. Taylor

    Wouldn't I have put a while loop around it with the stop button wired to the stop condition? That works fine, I just have to clean it up when I'm done.
    Thanks for your help!

  • How to Dynamically construct the conditional IF statement in java

    Is there a way to dynamically construct a conditional IF statement in java?
    For example:
    Suppose i have a 2D array like:
    Array[the actual values to search for][the column number in the table to perform the search on].
    e.g.
    Array {
                 {"x"} , {1},
                 {"y"} , {2},
                 {"z"} , {3},
    }How can i construct the if statement like:
    Looping over table rows (tableRow) {
        Looping over array {
            IF ( {"x"}. equals( tableModel.getValueAt( tableRow, {1})   &&
                   {"y"}. equals( tableModel.getValueAt( tableRow, {2})   &&
                   {"z"}. equals( tableModel.getValueAt( tableRow, {3})  )
            return true;
    }The array can grow or shrink based on the values in it so therefore IF statement will grow or shrink. How can i achieve it?
    If not then how can i achieve this?

    My understanding (feeble at best) is that a sieries of && elements will be evaluated in order until the first false value is encountered. So, in an "if a && b && c" statement where b is false c will never be evaluated and the conditional executable will not run. Is that what you mean?
    Yes, logical expressions will not evaluate unnecessary operands. So you can safely write the following, for instance, without getting an error,
    if ((anArray != null) && (anArray.length > 0)) { ... }because the second operand of the '&&' will never be evaluated if 'anArray' is null.
    Also, is there a difference between & and &&?
    & is a bitwise operator, && is a boolean operator.

  • How to set up rules/conditions on a drop down box to ensure its been filled if a value in a text box is selected.

    Hi, I am in midst of creating a form in infopath. I have a text box field in which the user will enter the number of issues he has. if the user has entered the number of issues he has, then he will need to select the type of issues from a multi selection

    I assume what you are asking is to make multi selection box as mandatory. If not please explain with a example

  • How can I pass multiple condition in where clause with the join table?

    Hi:
    I need to collect several inputs at run time, and query the record according to the input.
    How can I pass multiple conditions in where clause with the join table?
    Thanks in advance for any help.
    Regards,
    TD

    If you are using SQL-Plus or Reports you can use lexical parameters like:
    SELECT * FROM emp &condition;
    When you run the query it will ask for value of condition and you can enter what every you want. Here is a really fun query:
    SELECT &columns FROM &tables &condition;
    But if you are using Forms. Then you have to change the condition by SET_BLOCK_PROPERTY.
    Best of luck!

  • How can I select the condition one by one

    I attaching a VI in which I have two condition less than or equal and greater than or equal. With respect to the input value 0f 125 the condition should be greater than or equal and if it is 175 then it should be less than or equal. So how can I exchange the conditions. Please reply

    Hi perumpadapu,
    Can you show me in your code where is this "175" and "125" is coming from? Where do you want to implement your flip logic?
    " I need to relpace the greater than equal to to lesser than equal sign as the 175 becomes 125.So there should be a flip in conditions to be considered. "
    If you want to do some sort of flip conditions based on the integer value received, you can use case structure as below:
    Unless you are very certain that you will not receive any values other than 175 and 125, you can use Select.
    "Becaus if i use case structure as you said, for the true as well as false case I have to include all these commands to execute in each case. I can't wire the both cases to the same case structure after that."
    Can you provide a screenshot to this issue?
    It would be great if you can explain what you want to do and what your code does.
    Warmest regards,
    Lennard.C

  • How to create a new Condition for tax as VAT ( 4 % )  in SAP ? .

    Dear All ,
                           Pl guide that " How to create a new Condition for tax as VAT ( 4 % )  in SAP ? . What are all necessary requirements to do so , I need to have all steps so that i should feel very confident . For example what data is to be ticked in Control tab during cond. creation , in the same way how to put this cond. in Pricing procedure ? pl write all necessary thing which are required during this process .
    Thanx & deep regrads to all in adv.
    sap11

    In tax we can configure taxprocedure two types i.e., taxinn and tainj. If you adopt taxinn procedure if  it is other than VAT condition first you have to create the condition type and then you have to go to FTXP and assign the tax required VAT percentage to the repective % to ded or non ded VAT condion type. In second step you have to assign this tax code to respective company code.
    If you adopt taxinj procedure you have to a create tax code with FTXP T-code by assigning the values to the respective and save conditions.

  • How to find out the condition type of the tax code in the PO document

    Hi friends,
    My questions is how to find out the condition type of the tax code in the PO document.
    When you use me23n to display one PO document. In the invoice tab, there is one text field named 'tax code' whose value could be T1, T2, J1, J2 and so on. Beside the text field, there is one button named taxes. When you click the button taxes, it will show you the condition type of the tax code. For example, if the tax code is 'T1', then its condition type 'mwcn'.
    I want to use the information on the PO to find out the value 'mwcn' of the tax code 'T1'. Could anybody help to describe the logic?it looks like the value is saved in the table konp. But I don't know the logic. Please describe. Thank you.

  • How to copy the Pricing conditions from one Distribution Channel to another

    Generally we use VK11 transaction to create conditional records .
    but I Need to Know whether is it Possible to copy the Pricing conditions from one Distribution Channel to another with same name and same internal Characteristics .
    Since we have around 70+ of Condition type with different parameter Sequence.So Instead of Going for BDC whether is there any standard Funct Modules/programs/BAPIs to do this?
    How to make a copy Condition types from One Distribution Channel to another.
    since SAP has already provided to copy conditions from Customer to customer.
    Likewise i need to know whether SAP is facilitating for these feature also.
    Iam Dubious in this issue.
    Hope Fully looking for the answers.

    - IDOC_INPUT_COND_A (you can create IDOC, but also call directly)
    - call transaction / batch input (use transaction XK15, as used by LSMW)
    - use group of function modules RV_CONDITION_COPY, RV_CONDITION_SAVE, RV_CONDITION_RESET + commit.
    if you search SDN on 'RV_CONDITION_COPY' you'll find more info I believe.
    Someone mentioned BAPI_PRICE_CONDITIONS as well.

  • How to Maintain the Pricing Condition Records in CRM

    Hi
    I am new to the CRM
    How to maintain the pricing condition records in crm for the particular condition type?
    as we do in SD(VK11)
    Thanks

    Hi Binu,
    First of all, you could maintain pricing conditions in the following places:
    1. In General Condition Maintenance (GCM)
    2. At the product maintenance level
    3. At the 'Price agreement' tab of Contracts
    4. As manual conditions during order processing at item level
    Now, if you want to maintain conditions using GCM, you first have to maintain a condition maintenance group in the customizing where in you can assign condition table and condition type for different counter values. I am assuming that you have done this activity successfully.
    When you run the transaction '/SAPCND/GCM', for application 'CRM', your condition maintenance group name and context 'GCM', you will be initially taken to a screen where in you'll have an item area which would be blank and then condition fields would be displayed in a tree on the left.
    Here, select the field 'Condition type' and click on icon 'Select records'. You would get a dialog prompting you to enter condition type. Here you can specifiy the condition type for which you want to maintain/view condition records.
    If no condition records are available, item area would be left blank. Here, you can choose a condition type using the standard F4 help. Depending on condition types that are assigned to condition maintenance group, different condition types would be displayed in the F4-help using which you can maintain condition records.
    Hope this helps.

    Pavithra
