Hi, I was trying over the last 10 hours to post a crash report to find out what keep crashing my Safari Browser. So how do I post a crash report on this forum. I have tried 5 times and this is what happens.
( We're sorry, Apple Discussions is temporarily unavailable. We'll be back soon.
Until then, please visit http://www.apple.com/support)
I must be doing something wrong. Thanks for any info.Yes, BUT there is an even easier way!
Click on the small triangle under Crash Reporter in the l/h column and they will all be listed.
Scroll down to the latest and greatest Safari report and click on it.
Now click on the r/h column (which now only shows THAT crash report and then Command-a to copy it all.
Come back here and Command-v it! -
How do i recover last crash report?
Someone in IT trying to figure out a bad file crash is asking me for a crash report,but i havent had time to go make it crash again. SO is there a place(on my mac)that stores these crash reports so that i can send them the last one that happened?

DWH: how do you analyze fact and dimension tables
Hi,
I was wondering how you analyze your fact and dimension tables.
Our fact table is partitioned per month. Each partition contains 4M rows and is 270 MB large. We are using 9 dimensions, 6 have about 50'000 rows (2MB), 1 about 1M rows (50MB) and 2 about 3M rows (200MB). All tables are compressed. The version of Oracle we are using is 9.2.0.5.
What I was wondering is how you would, using dbms_stats, analyze the fact and dimension tables. Which percentage would you analyze? On which column would you build histograms?nope, but i could copy-paste the URL or I could copy-paste the entire thread from the other forum. Id did the one that made more sense to me.

(how do i delete pending crash reports in linux?
Question is:
Firefox has used up all my pc memory: 110000 files 5GB in ~home>mozilla>firefox>crashreports>pending.
Can't recall a crash ever being reported on screen.
1/ how do I delete these files?
2/ how do I stop these unnecessary reports from being generated?
Looks like Q679996 and A214546 was the answer but looks like someone's helpfully deleted it!
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Firefox 17.0.1addendum: looks like I quoted the wrong ref - answer was possibly 20173?

How Do I Diagnose System Crash Reports due to iMovie?
Hi,
I have had iMovie crash on me around 12 times in the last few weeks. I can see the system crash reports in Console, but not being a Programmer I have no idea how to translate or interpret them.
Whilst its reassuring that they are reported to Apple, how do I find out what is causing the crash?
ThksSecond report is a Spin:

Help analyzing a crash report, please!
My Imac Mid 2011 2.5ghz has begun crashing 5-10 times a day, it has happened while running a variety of programs, it's not always the same apps open/working when it crashes. Below this is the latest crash report. Any good samaritan apple geniuses out there that can share some wisdom? I've done the extended AHT with no problems found.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Failed RAM
Incorrect RAM
Unseated RAM
or something more serious like a hardware problem, possibly a failing hard drive.
Before you do anything backup your system and then systematically begin eliminating the possibilities. I'd recommend starting with the RAM, first did you upgrade the RAM and if so check for one of the three RAM possibilities. If you determine the RAM is OK then run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode at least 3 times back to back, if errors appear you have determined it's a hardware issue and the next step is taking it in for repair.
Good luck. -
How can i decipher ipad crash report
My wife's iPad has been crashing while using a Sudoku 2 app. I have found the crash reports on my PC. Is there any way for me to decipher the crash report to confirm the app itself is crashing the iPad or that maybe a combination of events is causing the crash?
It's an iPad 3 with iOS 6.1.3
I have deleted the app and reloaded from iTunes with the same result and also by downloading through the app store, again, with the same result.
I have also shut the iPad down and rebooted it.
Also there are numerous "ResetCounter-nnnnnnn" type logs that show up on the PC after the iPad is synced through iTunes. Are the crashes and ResetCounter logs related to the same incident?

How Do I Turn Off Crash Reporting
The "crash Reporting" check box won't remain checked as "off"
I read a solution about editing the application.ini file, but it didn't change the check box.
P.S.
It is really annoying to have to register to ask one question.What is the setting of SubmitReport in that file?
* SubmitReport=0 will turn off submitting crash reports
If changing that setting to 0 doesn't keep then make sure that security software isn't protecting that .ini file. -
Could someone please analyze and explain how to identify/fix these constant crashes? Happens with Chrome too!

you could either use the remval tool provided by mcafee in order to remove all remnants of the program: http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
or try to manually remove it as described in this forum (you don't seem to be the first one where this family protection didn't uninstall properly): https://community.mcafee.com/thread/38677
in case you cannot solve it this way you'd probably have to contact mcafee's support in order to have them sort out the problem... -
How do you identify when a report has finished?
Hi all,
I've got a big report that is taking a while to run (approx 1min) and the problem I'm having is that my users are getting bored of waiting and starting to click around my web application and re-running the report because they think it has failed. The re-running of the report is causing more load on the system and the reports to run even slower. What I would like to do is stop them re-runnning the report maybe by somehow locking the web page until BI publisher has finished but I don't know how to get a message back from BI publisher.
Currently I'm running the BI publisher report by having a button push which redirects the users web browser to a url such as:
'http://'||:BI_PATH||'/xmlpserver'||:BI_DIRECTORY||'/Custom Reports/'||:p180_report||'/'||:p180_report||'.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=1&_xdo='||:BI_DIRECTORY||'%2FCustom%20Reports%2F'||:p180_report||'%2F'||:p180_report||'.xdo&_xt='||:p90_template||'&_xf=rtf&_xmode=4'
And then as I'm returning an rtf doc the familiar save, open or cancel popup comes up. The problem is that before the popup appears they can re-click the run report button.
One way round it I've thought of is to have the report generate to a file system and redirect the user to a waiting page that checks periodically for the files existance and then when it does exist forward the user to a page with a view report button. This sounds like a lot of effort, does anybody know of a better way?
I've also wondered if running the report using webservices would be an option, is there a way of getting BI publisher to run a web service when a report has finished? This could then interact with my back end server and the web page could act on that, or am I totally barking up the wrong tree?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Darren.Hi Darren
couple of ideas
1. Rather than 'run' the report, get it to run through the scheduler immediately. Once its running through the scheduler you could then poll the scheduler tables to see when it completes. You could either redirect the users to a wait page or show an egg timer until the document has been created. this would require the document to be delivered to somewhere for you to poll as the URL will not return a job id.
2. Bit more involved but probably better is to hook into BIPs web services. So rather than the button issue an http request it calls a servlet to issue a web service call to BIP to schedule a report. The WS will return the job id to the caller, you can then poll the scheduler via a ws to check the progress of the job. Once complete you can then retrieve the result form the scheduler tables via another call.
Food for thought I hope

How do you set the Crystal Report Viewer Printer to Duplex
Using the code below I can print in duplex mode, but this does not let me view a report before printing
How do I set the Printer in the Viewer Control Bar of the Crystal Report Viewer to Duplex Printing programmatically rather than having to manually select Duplex through the preferences option?
I have searched but the only example code I found produces errors in the code and will not run
Private myReport As ReportDocument
myReport = New ReportDocument()
myReport.PrintOptions.PaperSize = PaperSize.PaperA4
myReport.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Portrait
myReport.PrintOptions.PrinterDuplex = PrinterDuplex. Vertical
myReport.PrintToPrinter(3, False, 0, 0)
In my VB6 Project that I am converting to VB.NET when I added Report.PrinterDuplex = crPRDPVertical, this allowed me to view the report and then print with Duplex without having to set the Print Preferences manualy
I found 1386475 - How to set printer name and print job title at runtime using Report Application Server SDK for Visual Studio .NET
But this causes errors

rptClientDoc = rpt.ReportClientDocument;
catch (Exception ex)
MessageBox.Show("ERROR: " + ex.Message);
return;
MessageBox.Show(rptClientDoc.MajorVersion.ToString() + "." + rptClientDoc.MinorVersion.ToString());
MessageBox.Show("Report opened.","RAS",MessageBoxButtons.OK,MessageBoxIcon.Information );
btnOpenReport.Enabled = true;
btnSaveRptAs.Enabled = true;
//MessageBox.Show(rpt.RecordSelectionFormula, "my record: ", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information);
MessageBox.Show(rpt.ReportRequestStatus.NumberOfPages.ToString(), "Number of Pages: ", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information);
As for the page number I use it off the Engine report object:
MessageBox.Show(rpt.ReportRequestStatus.NumberOfPages.ToString(), "Number of Pages: ", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information);
And it works for me...
Thank you

BI 4.1 - How do you update a Crystal Report already on server?
We recently upgraded to SAP Business Intelligence 4.1 SP05. I have saved quite a few reports to the new server and began scheduling them to test how they will perform on the new server. They were saved by using the CMC - create the folder, right click on the folder, click Add, click Local Document, browse the network to find the Crystal Report to add.
My question is: Now that they are on the server, how will I update them with any changes that may need to be made to the Crystal Report?
In other words: So far, I can only find how to add new reports. How would I update a report that is already out on the server?
Seems like I should have been able to find this somewhere on the internet or users guide, but I just can't seem to find it. Beginning to feel like I've got the wrong idea on how this all works. Any help would be greatly appreciated!"Now that they are on the server, how will I update them with any changes that may need to be made to the Crystal Report?" Supposed that you have newer version of Crystal Reports on the DEV environment, you'd need to use Promotion Manager; formerly LCM, to promote the updated version code to the PRODUCTION. Check out the Promotion Manager in the BI4.1 SP05 Administrator guide for detail. You can find most of BI4.1 documentations on http://help.sap.com/bobip41#section8.
Hope this helps,
