How do you close apps running in the background in iOS 7?
Do you know how to close apps in iOS 7? In iOS 6 you held your finger on them and when the minus sign came up you closed them that way. This saved the battery. Now there is no way to close the apps once you close them and it runs the battery down rapidly.
To close out apps, simply double click the home button and instead of holding down the app icons and clicking on the X mark in older versions, you have to swipe the app window up and away.
Also you can save on battery by turning of background app refresh from settings, as explained in this article .... http://nyacomputing.com/how-to-close-apps-in-ios-7-and-save-on-battery/

With new ph download how do you close apps running. In the background
Obviously you didn't search the forum prior to your post as there have been a lot of posters with the same question. Double tap on the home button as usual. Scroll left or right to select the app that you want to close and swipe upward to close it. The iPhone ios7 user guide is available online from Apple support and from the ibook store on your phone.

On this new ios7 update how do I kill apps running in the background now? I used to be able to double tap the home button
Double tap the home button. Slide the preview window upward. You can do 2 at a time.
It's rarely useful or necessary to do this. Very few apps actually "run in the background" (such as audio streaming and navigation apps). The vast majority are frozen and consume no resources. The iOS manages memory for you to optimize running apps.

How to turn off apps running in the background on the iPad mini
I am a long time iPhone and Mac user. We just purchesed a new iPad mini. I can't seem to get the apps running in the background to turn off. They won't wiggle, neither will they let me swipe up to remove them. Is there a preference in settings I need to turn on?
Thanks!Close apps

TS3274 Background apps. How to close apps running in the background.
I just down loaded iOS 7.1. Background apps closer problem. Double clicking home button no longer opens all my running apps. How will I close running background apps? Thank you.
Double-clicking home button should still work. Unless you changed something, perhaps in accessibility settings? Try varying the speed.
But there is an alternative: swipe with 4 or 5 fingers upward off the top, this should get you to the same place. -
HT4623 How do I close programs running in the background to speed up my phone?
Downloads are very slow. How do I speed up?
You can close apps via the taskbar : double-click the home button to open the taskbar at the bottom of the iPhone's screen, then press and hold any of the apps on that taskbar for a second or two until they start to shake, tap the '-' to close them, and then click the home button to close the taskbar. But a lot of the apps that appear there won't be active, they will just be 'recently used'.
In terms of speeding up downloads, what connection do you have ? If you are downloading via cellular and you are somewhere where you can only get a 2G connection then downloads will be slower than if you were in an area with better reception or if you were connected to a decent wifi network. -
I am curious to know about why not to close apps running in the background
I just spoke to a sales guy in the apple store and he said that closing an app by double clicking the home button and force closing it is a bad idea, does anyone have any knowledge of what the reason behind this is?
