I need to make a popup in flash on the same frame. Basiclly like you reach the frame and randomly (I know how to do random stuff) a popup might appear saying like you got a prize; and I want the stuff in the back to stay the same.

Whatever frame you intend to make this movieclip appear in, you first set it to be invisible using...
popupName._visible = false; // popupName is whatever instance name you use
And for whatever random code you use to trigger it to appear you just set the _visible property to be true...
popupName._visible = true;

OK...this is a probably a very basic question but I'm not sure how to word it clearly.
How can I create multiple versions of a video within the same project? What I mean is that I have a bout 50 minutes of video and I want to make two DVDs using different clips from this original 50 minutes of footage. It would be a real pain to have to re-import the video AGAIN for the second DVD. I suppose I could drop anything I don't want to burn to DVD back into the clips pane but that would wipe out all my transitions wouldn't it? I want to save each project in their “raw” form so I can burn additional DVDs later otherwise I would just do them one at a time and not care about one of them being destroyed.

You can't. You make separate projects using the same or different clips, segments, transitions, titles, etc. You can even duplicate the first project and then modify/make the desired changes in the duplicated project. Each project can then be burned as a different DVD or as different titles on the same DVD if there is enough room.

I’ve created a PHP site and MySQL server using a free app called XAMPP. I have successfully created a form in Dreamweaver that will write data to a (name) table in the SQL database. In the SQL database, I defined the first field as ID and set it as the primary key with auto update. So, when you insert a new record, it creates a unique primary key for that record. In my form, I’m capturing info that needs to be stored to two tables at the same time; a Name table and Address table. No. You probably need the primary key from one table to be a foreign key in the other tables. In any case, I believe you can use two methods to obtain the auto generated key. First with SQL:

I had an application where I spawned (= ran with Start Asynchronous Call) multiple (reentrant) copies of VIs, and would occasionally "lose control" of them. I needed a way to find all VIs that were running "Top Level" and stop them (so I didn't have to log off from Windows).
I used the Application Property "All VIs in Memory" to get an array of (wait for it ...) All VIs in Memory. I took each name, opened a VI reference to it (simply wire the name string in, as the VI is, by definition, "in memory"), looked at its VI Execution State, and if it was Run Top Level, Invoked the FP.Close and Abort VI Methods. [To prevent the VI that did all this from "committing Suicide", I compared the name string with the current Call Chain, and did nothing if there was a match].
I think you could adopt this idea to do what you need.

How do I create a text field that automatically enters the same info on proceeding pages

I know this is a basic question for Acrobat Pro, but I'm a newbie at it. Basically, I work with pdf forms in education and I would like to figure out a way where if I enter for example someone's birthdate in page 1, and it automatically enters it in pages 2, 3, 4 and so on of the same document.
Also, along the same lines, is there an easy way to be able to edit multiple pages of a document at once. Example: A lot of the people at my office that use the copy and paste feature in the pdf documents, and often overlook changing the "he" to a "she" and "his" to a "her" and as a result we end up with filled forms that use the incorrect sex.
I apologize in advance if I'm not being very clear, but is the best way I can describe my problem.

1. You can duplicate the field. Right-click it using the Select Object Tool and select Duplicate. You can then select the page range.
Otherwise, you can copy&paste it, or create a new field and give it the same name as the original.

How do you send more than 1 iMovie project to the same iDVD project???

I have 3 separate movie projects in iMovie with chapter markers and am trying to send them over to ONE iDVD project. Every time I send a movie over, it creates a new iDVD project and I can't get all 3 movies in the same project.
I'm trying to put each movies as a submenu under the main menu in iDVD.
Any help would be appreciated!

OK, after a long night of trial and error, I've figured it out...
Issue 1: Files not showing up in the media pane--- miraculously after shutting down all open apps and then restarting the computer, my iMovie projects are now showing up in the movie pane of the media panel in iDVD...
Issue 2: Getting more than one movie project into iDVD with all the chapter settings--- a little more complicated!
In iMovie: SHARE > iDVD gives you a new iDVD project with 2 submenus: 1 with the entire movie, and 1 with "scene selections"
If you try to add a second iMovie project to the same iDVD project; it's not possible from within iMovie (at least not that I can figure out!).
You can add this second iMovie project to the same iDVD project by adding it to the project within iDVD from the MEDIA > MOVIES pane. This, however, will only add the movie and not give you the second submenu with scene selections.
To get the 2nd iMovie project into iDVD, I dragged the 2nd movie project from a finder window into the opened iDVD project. This adds the 2 submenus (1 with the movie and 1 with the scene selections) to the iDVD project.

I would like to know how I can create a vertical accordion navigation with some custom modifications.
I need it to function like this sites vertical navigation. (link is below) Click on the parent page "bedrooms" and it expands revealing all of the "child pages" then click on one of the child pages, it turns the font to Underlined and all the child pages remain exposed! (it does not collapse after you click on a child page!!!!!!!) I need my site to do this as it tells the visiter where they are exactly on the site!     Please HELP ME! Thank You!
I would actually like mine to be a little more pronounced. Perhaps having the link turn to BOLD Font indicating you are on that page. And the main Parent page would have a diffrent background color.

There is a work around if your trying to use flash thru a browser. You will have to install a browser called dolphin browser. It can be found on amazon app store.
It has automatic flash player. How ever once you install dolphin browser you will have to go into its settings and find the link where it directs you to download flash also.

In OWA for Office 365 you can create a contact folder that resides under the "My Contacts" node on "Peoples" tab. This folder ends up appearing under the "Contacts" folder in the exchange store. However, if you attempt to create
a contact folder under "My Contacts" using Outlook it ends up under "Other Contacts" node in OWA for O365. Even if you attempt to position folder at the root of exchange store it still places it under the "Other Contacts" folder.
The same is also true if you attempt to create a folder using EWS. Is there a way to create a folder using EWS that will appear under the "My Contacts" node in OWA for O365? I've tried the following with no luck:

Lots of questions, here goes:
CAN YOU: Yes. You can create multiple server nodes. You can add a server node by going into the Visual Administrator and clicking the add node button. Make sure you have the required space on the physical drive to accomodate the space needed for the new node (hint: check the space of your existing node).
PERFORMANCE: Yes, maybe. If you are running on a 32bit OS, yes, this will definitely improve your performance as you are most likely memory constrained at the moment. If you are running on an x64 or 64bit OS, you will find that performance will improve but only to the extent that you have memory free and that you have available CPU for the new node. Remember Java processes are CPU hogs at times, especially during startup, and the more of them you have, the more CPU you need. Also, watch out for garbage collections. Be sure to tune your instance to with incrementals and fulls in mind. Another benefit of multiple nodes is the HA you get by default when you add more than 1 node. Now if 1 node should crash or restart, your portal is still running and accessible on the other node.
PARAMETERS: Yes and no. For java startup parameters, you can create a template under the global --> servers to have your parameters be all the same When you create a node, those parameters will be used. But, your currently configured child configuration parameters will not be reflected in the new instance since those parameters are taken from the global (parent). This is what the global is for and you should consider adjusting the global if you want your child nodes to have consistant values.

How do you create a login page using dashcode for the iPhone's mobile safari that will transfer you to the next page?

     Hey I have created a login page in Dashcode for a mobile safari app (aka iphone web app) and I am having trouble since I can not find any useful info about multiple pages. I don't want to use a stack layout view because it is only a login page and I need to check with a database to make sure the user's login info is correct. Right now I have it set up so that it loads another iphone web app project once it validates the info.
     The only problem with this is I am having a good bit of trouble trying to pass values from my php code to javascript or html. For some reason calling the javascript inside the php code makes the actual code inside the app not be called and same with the echo statment for the html.
So I would like to be able to create the app in this way:
Login page > PHP > MS SQL > PHP > UNKNOWN (if I can't get the javascript or html to output both) > Secure info on the next page
     I believe It would be a lot easier if I had the option for a multiple page but instead I am having to load up an entirely new dashcode project. If anyone knows a better way please let me know. Or if anyone knows a link to good information on passing values from php to javascript, because I couldn't get any of the code I tried to work, I would really appreciate it.

OK. This is weird--but I should be used to that, and just grateful that it seems to work (for now).
What I had done is FTPd some image files to my site using Filezilla, but when I had tried to access them, I was unsuccessful. I am almost sure that I used the same url (and variations of it) as you suggested, namely,  http://mysite.verizon.net/username/filename , and it either did not work, or gave me the "Page under construction", or, in some cases asked me for my username and password.
But, when I did it this time, it worked. So I probably had something off, but I can now do what I want.
By the way, if you'll permit another question, while on the site-builder site, it said that there was a "Web Photo Manager", and said that "To download the Web Photo Manager: Open the Site Builder application and go to the All My Sites page. Click on the Web Photo Manager link (listed under Advanced Building Tools )." I can't find it--would you happen to know where it is?

I have a splash page that plays a .swf. At the end of the
video the home.html page is opened. As/after the home page launches
I want to play a Flash video and then have the player close.
I am willing to trade wife, children or beagles for the info.

Are these two separate browser windows? One for the Flash
.swf and a different window for the home.html document? Is this
correct:
1. show .swf in one window,
2. open new, second, window with home.html
3. show second .swf in first window
4. close first window when second .swf finishes
If this is the scenario, then no, you can't reliably close
the first window. You can use Javascript to close a browser window,
but, if that window wasn't opened using Javascript, then it may not
close gracefully, or in the case of IE, may display a prominent
error message.

How do I create 2 totally separate iMovie Libraries (on the same drive)?

Here is my basic issue: I take video for work and home and I store them both in iMovie. I don't want them in the same iMovie Library. I want to be able to launch iMovie '11 and select which library I want to use. They are both on my external drive and I want to keep it that way. I just don't want them mixed.
Ideas?
I tried option clicking iMovie to try and select a library and that didn't work because iMovie doesn't use any kind of library file the the other iLife apps do. So I took all of my "work" events out and put them in another folder. Now all the "home" events and projects that are left are organized beautifully.
However, I don't know how to tell iMovie to open in the other folder which has the "work" events and projects.

aha I figured that would be your follow up question! I was just to lazy to write it up for you.
Since you need to ask, I would suggest you download a trial copy of DropDMG. It is really a tool for creating software installs with nice looking DMGs with backgrounds etc, but it will do the job for you.
You also need to fiddle with your terminal window.
1. Create a template folder with the name you want to appear as a hard drive
1. Fire up DropDMG, go into preferences and choose "sparsebundle" as the format
2. Back in main window, click on the new button and select the template folder
3. DropDMG will create an image
4. Locate the image and mount it (by double clicking it)
5. Open a Finder window and select your computer
6. Open a terminal window
7. In the terminal window, type "cd" and press spacebar.
8. From the Finder window, drag the MOUNTED image, from the Devices column to the left, over to the Terminal window and drop it. This will paste the full path for the image into your terminal window. So it should read something like: cd /Volumes/myfakeimage (it can handle spaces in the name)
9. Press Enter in the Terminal window to navigate to the root of your image drive
10. In the Terminal window, make sure you made it to the right place
11. In the Terminal window, type "sudo ln -s" and add a space
12. Navigate to your actual Events folder on your hard drive via Finder
13. Drag and drop your folder containing the Events folders (it should really be named "iMovie Events") to your terminal window, effectively copying the path onto the command line.
14. In your Terminal window, it should read something like: "sudo ln -s /Volumes/myhd/iMovie\ Events/"
15. In the Terminal window, add a space and type WITHIN quotes "iMovie Events". This now complete line will create a symbolic link at the place where you stand, called "iMovie Envents" pointing to the path in your system. The sudo command will ask for your password and I included it here just to avoid further problems if you had issues with permissions.
16. Hit enter and a symbolic link should be created in the root of your fake hard drive.
Now, I've written this from memory but it ..should.. be accurate
If you want to auto mount this image, you can place it in your login items (which you can do easiest from the account dialog in your system preferences).

How do you get a merged CHM to open in the same window as the master? (RH8)

We have a problem where everytime you click on a topic from a merged CHM in the master TOC, it opens a new window exlusive to the chm where the topic resides. We have more than one master chm and this is the only one that does it, it is also the only one that was created from RH8, although the others have been updated with RH8. We've compared the Window and SS Layout properties with a parent chm that doesn't behave this way and haven't been able to find any differences. Is there something we can do to have all the topics whether merged or from the parent, open in the same window?

I think somehow the last time I had this problem I stumbled on a solution and wasn't sure what fixed it, but the problem reared its head again, and it was back to the drawing board. Now I think we have a solution, but we don't know for sure what created the problem. Although we're pretty sure the problem has something to do with creating a new window when there is already and existing window.
What we found. This problem couldn't be fixed in the SSLayout. We found that the Properties | Advanced | Window setting for individual topics in the TOC had been erased. This Window drop-down selection lets you choose a window other than <Default> if more than one window exists. If not changed by the user, it should stay at <Default>, but somehow the setting was blank on several topics, probably due to the creation of a new window, and maybe some other values being changed. This is probably a bug in RH8, but I don't know about other versions.
How to fix it.
First you have to isolate which merged .chm file (child) has the problem, I believe I did this by removing one child .chm at a time from the Parent project and then seeing if the parent .chm worked correctly after generation.
Once you've found the offending .chm (there may be more than one), open the project and the TOC for the .chm that is a problem.
Go to the TOC pod > Topic Page Properties (right-click on a Topic in the TOC and select Properties) > Advanced > Options panel and ensure that a value exists in the Window: field. If the field is empty, you have a problem. Click the drop-down and select <Default>, even if your .chm window displays in drop-down.
I don't believe there's an option to set a window as the default when you create it, so if there's more than one window, who knows what the <Default> option is drawing from, unless <Default> points to the window you have selected in the SSLayout, which I think is the case.
Find all Topics that have this problem and fix them. Note: you cannot fix this by going to topic Properties in the Topic List (or from r-click Properties in a topic), you have to do it in the TOC.
Save all changes, generate the child .chm, and then replace the old child .chm with the new one.
Open the parent .chm and check to see if all topics open in the parent window. Your Done
