How do you encode getmessage calls in the following code below?

Im trying to HTML/JavaScript ecode the getmessage calls in the code listed below. Can someone explain how to properly do this? The code below is a snippit from a program which is used to handle a failed authentication attempt. Thanks in advance for your help.
if(logger.isDebugEnabled())
logger.debug("Authentication Failure: " + exception.getMessage());
        response.sendError(HttpServletResponse.SC_FORBIDDEN, "Authentication Failed: " + exception.getMessage());

Do you want to format your message with HTML so you can show it in a error web page?

  • More:Could u pls complete the following code by adding a class constructor?

    Thank you for your concern about my post. Actually it is an exercise in book "Thinking in Java, 2nd edition, Revision 12" chapter 8. The exercise is described as below:
    Create a class with an inner class that has a nondefault constructor. Create a second class with an inner class that inherits from the first inner class.
    And I make some changes for the above exercise requiring the class which encloses the first inner class has a nondefault constructor.
    There is something related to this topic in chapter 8 picked out for reference as below:
    Inheriting from inner classes
    Because the inner class constructor must attach to a reference of the enclosing class object, things are slightly complicated when you inherit from an inner class. The problem is that the secret?reference to the enclosing class object must be initialized, and yet in the derived class theres no longer a default object to attach to. The answer is to use a syntax provided to make the association explicit:
    //: c08:InheritInner.java
    // Inheriting an inner class.
    class WithInner {
    class Inner {}
    public class InheritInner
    extends WithInner.Inner {
    //! InheritInner() {} // Won't compile
    InheritInner(WithInner wi) {
    wi.super();
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    WithInner wi = new WithInner();
    InheritInner ii = new InheritInner(wi);
    } ///:~
    You can see that InheritInner is extending only the inner class, not the outer one. But when it comes time to create a constructor, the default one is no good and you cant just pass a reference to an enclosing object. In addition, you must use the syntax
    enclosingClassReference.super();
    inside the constructor. This provides the necessary reference and the program will then compile.
    My previous post is shown below, could you help me out?
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    //Could you please help me complete the following code by generating
    // the Test class constructor to ensure error free compilation? Please
    // keep the constructor simple just to fulfill its basic functionality
    // and leave the uncommented part untouched.
    class Outer {
    Outer (int i) {
    System.out.println("Outer is " + i);
    class Inner {
    int i;
    Inner (int i) {
    this.i = i;
    void prt () {
    System.out.println("Inner is " + i);
    public class Test extends Outer.Inner {
    // Test Constructor
    // is implemented
    // here.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Test(Outer o, int i) {
      o.super(i);
    }Note that this doesn't quite answer the question from Thinking In Java, since your Test class is not an inner class (though there is no difference to the constructor requirements if you do make it an inner class).

    How do you receive a call on your computer with the new OS X?

    The following quotation is from http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/continuity/
    The link shows a picture of the Notification. Below it says there is "nothing to set up" but I believe that you need to have FaceTime activated (signed in) on both devices as there is a setting on iPhone/iPad in Settings > FaceTime where you turn "iPhone Cellular Calls" on/off.
    Sometimes when your iPhone rings, it’s not where you are. Maybe it’s charging in another room. Or it’s buried in your backpack. But your Mac or iPad is sitting right there. Now you can make and receive phone calls on those devices as long as your iPhone running iOS 8 is on the same Wi-Fi network. Incoming calls show the caller’s name, number, and profile picture. Just click or swipe the notification to answer, ignore, or respond with a quick message. And making a phone call from your iPad or Mac is just as easy. Simply tap or click a phone number in Contacts, Calendar, or Safari. It all works with your existing iPhone number, so there’s nothing to set up.

  • Solaris 11 IPS:  How do you post multiple versions of the same package?

    How do you post multiple versions of the same software package on a single IPS instance(port)? Oracle was able to do it here with versions 151 and 175 of S11:
    http://pkg.oracle.com/solaris/release/
    Unfortunately, based on my searches, no where in the documentation (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris11/technologies/ips-323421.html) does it explain to the development community how this is done. The best I can do is create pkg repo instances on different ports to host each different software version.
    We are trying to deploy an IPS repository for our drivers and utilities that our customers can link to and pull updates from. We have been able to post a software package to the repository using the command:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 -d ./ Appv1.p5m
    This posts the package on the IPS repository instance at port 1234 on the server. However, we would like to post multiple versions of the package on the server at the same URL. Why the same URL? So that our customers and end-users need only point to a single URL to pull down our software rather than having to add a new URL to the publisher list each time we have an update. We want at least 5 of the previous software versions to be available on the server. Posting each version of the application or driver on a different IPS instance on a different port will require customers to add multiple URLs to their publisher list and they also will not be able to initiate remote scans for updates.
    Has anybody been able to do this? Is any documentation forthcoming?
    Edited by: user13489824 on Jun 25, 2012 10:17 AM

    dhduvall: Thanks for your response. Yes, one would think that as long as the version numbers are different, you should be able to accumulate multiple versions of a package in a repository. It looks like Oracle has done it in their S11 repository unfortunately, as far as I know, they have not shared the steps on how to do this. I would like to publish two versions of the same package. I.E. two different manifests with two different fmri.pkg version strings and two different binaries.
    If I publish one package after another like this:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv1.p5m
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv2.p5m
    Then only the second package shows up in the repository, as if it over-wrote the first one.
    Running pkgsend with two manifest, like this:
    pkgsend publish -s http://localhost:1234 Appv1.p5m Appv2.p5m
    Will cause pkgsend to combine the packages and manifests as if they were a single package... not what I am trying to do.
    Both approaches are complete without errors but neither achieves what I am trying to do.
    alan.pae: Thank you. Unfortunately, the link didn't really help. I've read Oracle's white papers and IPS developer guide so I'm familiar with the topics covered.
    Lex: Yes, I know. I specified the versions in the pkg.fmri value string.

  • How do you manually manage podcasts with the new iTunes?

    Like the subject line says: How do you manually manage podcasts with the new iTunes?
    With the previous version of iTunes, when I plugged in my iPod, I could select the iPod, select podcasts, and manually delete episodes. With the new iTunes, I can't select individual episodes when looking at my iPod through iTunes. Is my only option to Sync? If so, why is that my only option?
    This question probably has a simple answer, and I'm just not seeing it.

    Rock,
    I think I figured out a way to do what you want to do - which is the same way that I use Itunes with my Ipod. (My Itunes libary was destroyed last year so I can no longer auto synch my Ipod as I would lose thousands of songs).
    Funnily enough, I discovered this new way of manually moving podcasts while trying to figure out what cpragman was trying to say (I never could - he must be smarter than me, as I couldn't get his method to work).
    1. Open up your Itunes in your regular Library view. Choose Pocasts from the left hand side (either in the sidebar if you have that enabled, or from the little "radio" icon if you don't.)
    2. Mouse to the podcast you want to place on your Ipod.
    3. Right-click it.  A long menu will pop up.
    4. Move to the "Add to Playlist" option.  As you hover, all your playlists will be visible. But at the very top will be the name of your Ipod itself (whatever you named it originally).  Choose THAT name, and voila! That podcast will now copy to your Ipod and be easily available when you disconnect.
    A nice feature of this method is that you can shift-click several podcasts at once and do the same thing, and all your selected podcasts will copy over (if you're like me and update your Ipod only every few weeks).
    Hope this helps - let me know if it works for you!
