    I can not seem to find the application anywhere in Pages. We need to create address labels. We have the document in PC Word but I was hoping to find it on pages.

    Pages is not designed to print sheets of labels, so it's normal that you find nothing about this feature in the Help.

    You can print address labels from Address Book:
    You can print a range of Avery labels; and you can choose to define a custom layout and decide your own label size.

    Create them in the Address Book application on your Mac. They will sync to iCloud
    If you want to create them in iCloud, log into iCloud.com on your Mac. They will sync back to your Mac Address Book.

    Just getting started with iWeb and I enjoy it. I have to plead ignorance when it comes to web design. It seems that most websites are wider than the ones I create in iWeb. Can you make them wider? And the big question, how large should they be vertically also? What is the standard? Any help would be appreciated for this beginner.

    Whoops! I pressed the wrong button. I make my pages as deep as they need to be. Theoretically they can go on forever but readers tire of scrolling down too far. If it's just text and few images I sort of judge how a magazine page looks and make it look like a magazine page. On my art club's website we have a Members' Gallery section and I have to include up to 20 submissions. I just keep going until all the thumbnails are in with the text, and then hyperlink them larger version on a blank page not in the navigation menu.

  • Can anyone make labels with Pages and merging Address Book?

    I want to make labels from Address Book that includes the name, Company, and address. Because Address Book makes you select Name or Company, the labels will only come out with one or the other, not both. Is there a template in Pages that imports both Name and Company? Surely, I am not the only person who wants to make mailing labels that includes both the name of the person and the Company. I don't see it in the tutorial and Apple Care indicated that it couldn't be done (but I think I was sent to the wrong person) Huh? No label possible with a name and company both!

    I persevered with this. I don't think you can really print both the name and the company in Pages which is a big deficiency in a nice program but you can in Address Book. Change all your contacts so the name is the default rather than the company. Select Print in Address Books, go to labels or envelopes, and check the box that says "print company". I wish his had been put in writing somewhere. I wasted a great deal of time inputting the same information into QuickBooks so I could print out labels to about 40 customers.

    A recent video project i have arrived at has raised an interesting question:  is there any way to create a floating label that will rotate and move with the video within the Adobe Premiere Pro software?  What I'm looking for is basically a text box with an arrow pointing to the area of note that will move with the background video.
    Would this be available with Adobe After Effects or another effects bundle?  Or would it be simple to do using just the Premiere Pro interface?  I'm a brand new user, so I haven't made it through all the training and resources that are online yet, but I would greatly appreciate any help or insight that anyone could provide on this subject.

    At the very least it's in Excel. One can the save an Excel file as CSV or tab-delimited. Address Book can import CSV or tab-delimited. I checked the Help docs   , although I think I did it once before when getting contacts off a cell. phone (no iSync) and into Address Book.
    HRM130, what other programs do you have? If you have Excel, do you have Word? You can also do the merge with Word.
    In Word 2011, under "Tools", there "Labels...". (In 2008 I think it's in a similar place.) You  select or create the template for the labels, then you select the Excel file as the the datasource. You can then play around a bit with which fields for the merge and how they are positioned on the screen -- you can preview those modifications. Then once you're happy you let the merge rip and you get a Word document with all the labels, which you can fine tune, e.g. set everything to all caps, etc.

    Horizontally by using percentage width instead of pixels.  This is called a liquid layout.

    Vertical resizing is irrelevant in web design.  Page content determines page height.  The more content, the longer the page.  The less content, the shorter the page.  Scrollbars appear when needed.

So if you have multiple macs with Mountain Lion and/or devices with iOS 6 (once it comes out this fall) you can pick up where you left off. For example, let's say I have apple.com, nytimes.com, and facebook.com open on my mac, but I need to run. Later, if I need to use another computer in my household, I can just restore the tabs that I was using before on this other mac.
