How do you remove the Google search bar in new tab? Walk me through it in baby steps please.

I've seen a few ways of removing it. Something about a chrome folder and ccs or something. Sorry but I don't understand any of it. I thought Firefox was supposed to be super easy to customize.

Note that you can also do this with code in the userContent.css file.

The customization files userContent.css (websites) and userChrome.css (user interface) are located in the chrome folder in the Firefox profile folder.

* Use a plain text editor like Notepad to create a (new) userContent.css file in this folder (the names are case sensitive)

* Make sure that you select "All files" and not "Text files" when you save the file via "Save file as" in the text editor as userContent.css. Otherwise Windows may add a hidden .txt file extension and you end up with a not working userContent.css.txt file

You can't. It's now integrated with the URL bar. It's a search/URL combo.

In my Navigation toolbar, ther eis now a tool that is an edit box aith a magnifying glass. You enter a text, click the magnifying glass, and it shows results of a search using a search engine called "Somoto". I do not want this feature and I never installed it knowkingly. How can I get rid of it?

#Click the link at the bottom to open the Search Engines Manager. 
#Click "Somoto" to highlight it and then click the "Remove" button.

How do you remove the oberon game bar

recently downloaded a msn demo game......i unchecked to not install gamebar.........so i uninstall game after i finish
the problem is i cannot get the gamebar/oberon page
has taken over the speed dial page....have reset speed dial multiple times only to have oberon page(msn games)
i have done about config and reset any any gamebar msn and it is resetting itself ....i go back into config and it has changed itself back

found the problem............the easiest way..........is to search hard drive for the oberon folder and delete........then run ccleaner and delete the oberon registry keys
that solved the problem................

You can't turn off the suggestions in Safari, though you may be able to do that if you install Glims, which also offers some additional options that aren't available directly in Safari.
Quit Safari before you install it, then restart and go to Preferences>Glims to setup your options.
As for drop-down boxes, what exactly are you referring to?

Note: it's not going to show the google symbol encrypt when you open a new tab it's just going to automatically use google as a search engine.

Before I did the last upgrade with Firefox, I had the Google search bar in the middle of my start page. Now , after the upgrade, my Google search bar is up on a tool bar at top of the page and the when you type something in the large Firefox box in the middle of the page does nothing even though it has the Search box to the right of it. The restore last session is under that. I just have a large box in the middle of start page that does nothing. I wish that was my Google search box again.

Mozilla changed the default home page to '''about:home''' which is supposed to be faster because it is on your computer, but they piled on a few ornaments. There is a space which is essentially advertising space for Mozilla, or to tell you that you have a previous session available below the search form area.

same problem here for the past two days till this morning when I created a new profile and removed ALL addons from the default profile. With the new profile with NO addons, I got to the sites with video that I had problem with and flash player did work.
Now, I only have three addons that have not created the problem; adblock, flashgot, and flashblock.

You can set the Interface Language via the Search settings link on the http://www.google.com/ncr site. That should work for the Google Firefox page as well. 
That setting is stored in a Google PREF cookie that you need to keep (allow).

Hi thank you replying however, I'm not refering to the google search bar in the tool bar of Safari itself thei is a Black bar that runs under the "Book Marks Bar" it is below the Tabs when I am using them.
At the left side of the screen within the browser pan the Black Google Search Toolbar has my email address and a gear icon and on the right side of the black google search bar are seveal menu option running left to right that inclue "Web, Imagaes, Video,Maps Shopping, News, Gmail and More then a small drop down arrow with yet more options.
This is definitly an unwanted "after market" option!
