How do you transfer movies purchased on iTunes to watch through USB on TV.

Hi,
I was wanting to purchase new release movies from iTunes instead of buying them on DVD from retail store. I was wanting to transfer some of them to a USB so my daughters can watch them on their tv as well but for some reason the coding won't allow it. I don't want to do anything illegal just watching the movie I purchased on another tv. I don't have Apple TV and not wanting to purchase one at the moment either.
Thank you for your help

iTunes movies are DRM protected and have to be played back with an Apple device.  I presume the same applies to any legal online movie purchase as this is something the media companies likely determine.  If they want to play it back on their TV and you do not have streaming capability then you'll have to go with a DVD player.

  • How do you transfer songs from your itunes library to a usb key?

i wish to transfer some of the songs i have in my itunes library to a usb key so that i can listen to those songs at work , i just bought a panasonic stereo

In your iTunes-Library select the songs you want to transfer, then reveal them in Finder by any of these methods:
from the File-menue select "Show in Finder", or press "cmd-shift-R", or Right-click the songs selected and choose "reveal in Finder" from the pop up menu.
When the folder with the songs is revealed, just drag them to your USB key.

  • How do you transfer movies from one iTunes library to another?

I want to transfer my iTunes library from one user account to another on OS X Lion. I can't seem to do this without receiving a profuse of permission errors. I don't mind being unable to transfer the movies, apps, etc. because I can retreive those from iCloud, but I have a dozen movies that I don't want to lose.
    Any ideas?

    You can use Home sharing

If the films are on your computer's iTunes then connect your iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of iTunes under 'Devices' - and you should then be able to use the Films/Movies tab on the right-hand side to select which of the films to sync to the Videos app on the iPad

    Thanks

In order to prevent the loss of valued purchases from your iPhone or iPad, you may need to back up your important purchased items to somewhere safe, your computer or iTunes library, for example. You can transfer purchases manually before you sync your iPhone or iPad to iTunes.

how do i transfer movies from macbook to a external hard drive? it just wont recognize

So your MacBook Pro is a 2012 model (I'm assuming since you only bought it a week ago!)?
There are some known issues with the USB 3.0 ports on the 2012 models where they do not recognize USB external drives. This tech note may be of some help - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5172#12.
Some people that are using pre-release versions of Mountain Lion, to be released in the next couple of weeks, have written here that their USB 3.0 port problems are 'fixed' with the new version of OS X 10.8.
Try the Apple FAQ first and if that doesn't solve your problem, you may have to wait a couple of weeks to see if 10.8 does.

  • HT4910 How do you transfer movies I purchased from the app store from iPad to iPad?

I've bought another ipad2 and I can't figure out how to transfer my movies I purchased from the app store from one iPad to another iPad. Can anyone help?

You can either sync with iTunes to transfer them to your iTunes library, then sync them to the new iPad by selecting them on the Movies tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  Or, you can download them directly to your new iPad as a past purchase for free (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519) if permitted by the studio (not all permit this).

  • HT1848 How do you transfer your purchases with the new iTunes format?

I'm trying to update my iPod but it keeps saying I have to transfer my purchases. But I don't know how to with the new iTunes format...

On iTunes 11 you can do it via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, or I've changed the view on mine so that the old sidebar shows via View > Show Sidebar and I can then control-click the device (right-click if you are on windows) and select Transfer Purchases from the popup

  • How do you get movies off one itunes library, and into another.

I recently bought a dvd, and it had a free download for itunes to i uploaded it. On a different user, on the same computer, i have another itunes library in which i have all my music. It didn't transfer this purchase, and is there i way i can get the file into my itunes library?

Open your other library, go to File>Add to library and navigate to the folder containing the files you want to add. Once they are in your new library delete them from the other library making sure that when you get the prompt to move them to trash say no. You should also back your purchases up to disc or to an external drive so you don't lose them of anything happens to your hard drive:

  • How do you transfer songs to second iTunes user account; same computer

How do I transfer songs from one user account to another user account on the same computer?
I've given my son his own account on our second computer. Prior to this, he shared his sister's iTunes account, using a playlist to populate his ipod. Now that he has his own account, he wants to transfer his music to his own account. Is it possible to do this quickly? I've been able to copy some actual song files from the first iTunes library and physically move them to the new account using a flash drive, but this is cumbersome. Any better options? Thanks.

Sounds like a good plan. What folder/files do I move...the entire 'iTunes Media' folder?  ...and how do I point to it...through the advanced preferenced feature?
It would be the folder you have selected as your Library folder. Usually Mac HD/Users/[User]/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media
    See below:
Select Mac HD/Users/Shared/Music - CREATE IT if need be
Move your iTunes folder to the new Music folder. You'll probably have to "re import" the Library in iTunes. (Clear the old library first)
But ionce it;s in the Shared Music folder, EVERY account on the comp can access those files for their own library (whichever songs THEY want) and you onle need ONE copy of everything.
Each user can only access or modify THEIR OWN library while logged on so it prevents someone erasing another's library, because the iTunes Library file is in a locked folder when others are logged in.

  • How do I transfer a purchase to iTunes which was purchased on a now dissapeared apple id

i opened an itunes account with a prepaid gift card so i bought a couple of movies like shall we dance and la bamba. Luckly i transfered shall we dance. so i logged out after i bought la bamba and then after a while i  tried to log back in but it didnt recognize my password so i reset my password. didnt get the email. so i assumed that itunes deleted my account for some reason. now my question is that how am i supposed to transfer la bamba to the library. The deleted account was authorized but im afraid it wont transfer. i cant keep this movie on my ipod forever i barely have any space!

It turns out that it did transfer! The account even though it was deleted it still was authorized to the computer lucky me! Thanks anyway though!
