How does one edit workflows?

I've recently been made aware of the bug in the Save PDF to Web Receipts Folder workflow and was hoping to do a quick edit. I even found some edit tips online. Easy peasy, no?
The problem is, Automator opens the workflow and it simply must be incomplete. There is only one step in the workflow ("New Folder" which creates the new Web Receipts folder) and *nothing at all* in the Actions column. When I opened another workflow ("Mail PDF") to double-check, I get the same problem: only one step (this time it's "New Mail Message") and no actions listed.
Any guesses? I am a vet programmer but new to Automator. Am I overlooking something?

Yes, should Apple not offer the complete feature set for the technician / traveler in the field on an iOS device, for a price perhaps. After all, Apple is so into making money now!
What is the real meaning of this very poor half baked release? Protection for the simple, less experienced? Perhaps a wise effort.
And ... What about that cutting the cord effort? Well, sort of, doesn't quite get there!
Sigh! Yes, I submitted a request for a finished version of the app to the hedge.
Sorry! What happened to the 'It just works!' Apple we used to know?
So... must have an AirBook as the iPad toy is just not ready for prime time in the enterprise, yet!

How does one, edit text using Preview?

Hi all,
I have recently created a document using Preview...The document includes text that I inserted using the text tool within Preview itself...I was able to edit these text windows quite freely during the creation of the document...
However, today I have opened my Preview document only to find that the usual method of clicking on the text is failing and that I cannot edit those very same text windows anymore...How is this so and how can I edit them once again?

Unfortunately I'm still unable to edit the text...When I select the 'View' menu; the 'Highlights and Notes' is greyed out and therefore unable to be selected.

Group Web-Calendar, how does one edit an event's 'Notes'?

I have an OSX Leopard server hosting several Group Calendars. One question I keep getting is how to edit the 'Notes' section of a web event.
When you hover over an event in the Web Calendar, the last field of information presented is 'Notes'. Clicking on the event however does not present 'Notes' as an editable field.
Is there any way to add text there, if not, what is it's purpose?

Go to the calendar event page. You can do this by clicking on the calendar event from the search results or in the 'Upcoming Events' category on the Wiki home page (if it's there). You can then edit that event to add the 'Notes'.
It appears that if you leave the 'Location' field blank, the note added populates that field instead of the 'Notes' field. I suspect this is a bug. But if the 'Location' field has a value, then the information appears in the 'Notes' field.

The standard templates differ in various fundamental aspects which don't know how to edit. The background colour of a page, for example, or where the page number goes. (I'm aware that one can edit the background colour of characters or sections. But the templates also give blank pages different background colours, which affect a page when it contains no text but just a large image.)

Details depend on the template...you may need to study how iBA works first, and then tackle edting a given example

My new podcast - A Life of Play - was up around the top 25 in the travel section for a week and then it's dropped off the map.
1. How can I get it back into that listing? (I think that is directly tied to subscriptions in a week...so I've got to increase week over week subscriptions) BUT tell me if it's something different.
2. How do you get Apple to feature you? THAT is not tied to subscriptions because there are plenty of New and Notable podcasts that show up there without being ranked. THEN after they show up there their subscriptions skyrocket and then they're ranked and it's a sweet circle of success.
3. When will you be able to list your podcast in more than one category? A Life of Play is both recreation AND travel, but there's not a Rec category and Health and Fitness is too vague...but I feel that I'm not reaching everyone.

There is not ON/OFF toggle for Ripple Edit. It is ON, by default and design.
However, it is easy to change it to Insert Edit, by holding down the Ctrl modifyer key.

You can try using Adobe ExportPDF (https://www.acrobat.com/exportpdf/en/home.html) though it only produces Microsoft Word files. If WordPerfect can import .docx files, that will work. Note that the ability for ExportPDF to convert the file depends on the quality of the scan. If it's hard for ExportPDF to interpret the scan due to smudges, fuzziness, etc., it cannot do a very good job.

How does one drag a song to a new album?

How does one drag a song from one album and drop it into another album?
Many of the mp3 files that I use are ones that I create myself for my students. It would be great if I could drag them into the correct album without having to type in the information (very tedious).
I am new to Mac from Windows and I can't discern how to accomplish re-assigning albums in the manner that I was able to previously using Windows Media Player.
Any suggestions or perhaps different workflow suggestions?

I'm a high school music teacher and a lot of the tracks are student-created (or instructor-created). It has always been easier for me to leave the mp3 tag "unknown" and then drag them to the appropriate album in Windows Media Player.
I actually took something from your reply that I think will work well. By adding newly created files to a playlist, I could select them and then edit the tag data every few days by selecting all of the items in the playlist (I think that will work!).

Since the upgrade to version 9.0.1 of Firefox, the Bookmarks feature changes are confusing me. They seem to be confusing themselves as well. The list of bookmarks has changed. The font size is so small that my aging eyes cannot read it without fogging the screen with my breath. Some folders are out of alphabetical order (where I know they were previously good), and some are missing altogether (folders to which I frequently add references).
As for missing or deranged files or folders, was there something that I should have done or now need to do to recover those after the upgrade (or before)?
With regard to font size,
1. there is no “Edit Bookmarks” or like option to edit the list in this version
2. the “zoom” option in the “view” list of functions is greyed out when in “Show All Bookmarks” window
3. expanding the browser window has no effect on font size
4. “Preferences” settings for font size has no effect in that window either, including advanced settings
5. “Help” offers none that I can find.
Can any of you Help?!?

How Does One Modify Photoshop Templates in Dreamweaver

I posted this over on the Photoshop forum, but no one has
replied. It is a hybrid sort of question.
I've been trying to modify the Horizontal Neutral template of
the Web Photo Gallery in Photoshop CS using Dreamweaver MX (v.6.1)
on my G5 running Tiger and am almost there. Aside from the overall
design (fonts and colors) I really like the interface of this
particular gallery with a horizontal slider to quickly scroll
through images, that when selected, appear in large form in the
center of the page. But I need to customize it to get it to match
the feel of my site.
My problem: I'm trying to point to a gif file that is part of
my website image library as my background. I want the Horizontal
Neutral Gallery to float in that image background. But, I can't
seem to get the background image to appear where it is supposed to.
I've gone into the various components of the template
(FrameSet, SubPage, etc.) and by duplicating the files and
modifying the code, I am able to get the background image to appear
within the tables that make up the navigation and image gallery
components. But, I've not been able to get the image to appear as
the background itself.
I'd even be happy to simply have the entire Horizontal
Neutral Gallery float in the middle of one of my own pages with the
image file as a background if it is possible, but can't seem to
even get it to do that. How does one access the code that controls
the background image in this template or the script that generates
these galleries?

The reason the that the edit button ( - ) top righthand corner had 'disappeared', was that iCloud was enabled but that the Addressbook subsetting under iCloud was set to off in the phone settings.
Changing it to 'on' made the edit button reappear.

Right click or Control click on the selected text.
From the menu, choose Font > Show Fonts
Select the second item on the toolbar, which is Text Strikethrough
Choose a single, double or color line

I created a new set of Flex component library slib.swc (Flex 4.5). Would also like to have a default style. defaults.css file, making it the default style of the component library.
Like flex the builder install directory of sdks \ 4.5.0 \ frameworks out \ libs directory has a spark.swc file, open with Winrar will see defaults.css this file. Defaults.css file defines the default style of the flex spark components.
How can it be achieved?

slib.swc contains a CLabelEx components, and a defaults.css file

dj is right. Any Folder can be a picture folder.
Create a root level folder and add it to your Pictures Library in Windows. It will show up with all the scattered pictures from other programs. It can even be a different dirve if you like. You can even specify one to be the default save location for pictures in this dialog.
Navigate to Pictures in your Libraries in Windows Explorer Right Click and select Properties.

How does one create LOV Map between 2 fields for custom lookup mapping

In Internet Expenses, Expense Report Line Detail we have two unrelated fields; namely Expense Location & Tax Code.
The requirement is to map a default tax code to locations; basically when a user enters Expense Location then the mapped tax code value should default into field Tax Code.
The location-tax code mapping is stored in a custom lookup (FND_LOOKUP_VALUES).
My question is how does one go about implementing this? For example is it possbile to create a new (hidden) LOV based on the lookup mapping & then create a Personalization LOV Mapping between the 3 LOV... Or is it necessary to modify the Tax Code drop down Message Choice in JDeveloper? Of course details are appreciated!
FYI below is the relevant Personalization Structure from "Personalize Stack Layout: (NormalDetails)".

Hello all
The correct & supported method is this:
Extend the location LOV in JDeveloper & add a "default tax" attribute, this could be derived from a new location DFF storing the default tax code for each location. Now simply create a location Personalization LOV Map which takes this new location lov tax attribute & target it to the tax message choice field.
That's my 2c worth anyway, so please give comment if you feel there is a better way.
There is just one more little problem however... The requirement has changed! Now we require the tax code to default according to not one location field, but other fields too. For example if the user selects Expense Type of Beverage & Location of Netherlands then Tax Code should be NL19%, for Expense Type of Hotel then it should be NL6%; if the user ticks "Missing Receipt" field then it should over ride all others & set the code to NL0%.
Any ideas?

How does one rename or even delete templates in Pages?

At the top of this page, click on your name or avatar to go to your profile page. You need to have more than one product listed in My Products and the one you need to edit can't be set as the default. So, add a product if you only have one & set this second as default. Then back to your profile page where you can edit the settings, including your OS version. Then back again to set this one as default. This is just one of many, many things that the current forum software makes very difficult. I have to go "hunting" for the setting each time, it's that difficult. If I were invited to test changes or a new version, this is one thing I'd mention.
