How does the cloud connector work at the back end?

Hi Everyone,
As i am new to the Cloud connectors i am curious to know how connectors work.
Can any one help me understand how the cloud connector (program builder) step calls the custom logic that is written to perform an external action. I beleive that we need to create a configuration page that is plugged in the Cloud connector step, where credentials, field mapping etc are configured. I guess the custom logic is not included in the Configuration page.
What next! Does this information get stored in the external database and based on the unique instancename and program builder step ID these configurations are retreived.
Also, hitting the "configure" button in the Cloud connector step opens the URL that is set up in the Cloud Connector manager. So, when the contacts flow through this step how do they get processed? While the configuration page is configured in the step but not the Custom Logic URL.

You are correct that Cloud Connectors leverage Program Builder and have a separate configuration setup page that handles login authentication and customization of the specific Connector. However, each connector can have a drastically different configuration within the configuration page. Which Cloud Connector(s) are you looking to set up? Let me know which Connector I can help you with and I will post a walk-through with screenshots for that specific example. Hopefully that will help!
To clarify your comments in the meantime:
Based on your selected Eloqua Instance name, login authentication (for connector login), and other attributes, the information will be automatically pulled from the chosen Cloud Connector and stored in Eloqua (usually on the contact record). Depending on what connector you are using, you may want to create custom fields on the contact record to store this new information that is being transferred from the connector service (ie Webex attendance information). Keep in mind that all of the information that you bring into Eloqua will still reside on the Cloud Connector Service/Company’s servers as well.
Again – feel free to let me know which Cloud Connectors you are looking at and I can send over a more specific walk-through on how they work and how to configure them.

How Does SDQ Universal Connector Works for Cleansing?

I have a question about the Siebel Data Quality Universal Connector.
From the Siebel Bookshelf:
In real-time mode, data cleansing begins when a user saves a newly created or modified record.
When the record is committed to the Siebel database:
1. A request for cleansing is automatically submitted to the Data Cleansing business service.
2. The Data Cleansing business service sends the request to the third-party data cleansing
software, along with the applicable data.
3. The third-party software evaluates the data and modifies it in accordance with the vendor’s
internal instructions.
4. The third-party software sends the modified data to the Siebel application, which updates the
Siebel database with the cleansed information and displays the cleansed information to the user.
What is not clear is what happens if the cleansing engine identifies a problem in the data that has to be raised to the user (e.g. an invalid zipcode has been specified for an address). Is there a point

Currently if an address could not be cleansed by SDQ, user will get a popup window with error message. For example Invalid/Out of range Street Number etc.
There are two approaches towards address entry/cleansing/validation:
1. As described the thread the application sends the input address the cleansing engine, and the engine returns cleansed address or error message. If the input address does not match to one of the validated address on reference file, ideally a list of approximate address should be displayed similar to the scenario for matching results, for user to review and make a decision.
2. As user enteres part of the address, the eligible matched address will be displayed as a list for user to pick from. Certain engines could offer such capabilities for number of countries.
At this point, SDQ universal connector supports the first scenario, but with no UI to display potential address matches.

I have recently met some weird problems with running ME84 - Create Releases, where I picked 1 Changed Only in the field of Scope of Selection. Actually before running the program, there was no change on that scheduling agreement. But there were some IDocs that were sent by SAP. Is it normal?
Also, I would like to ask whether we can modify the release order in ME84. Is there another transaction or process that could be used to modify the Release Order for Scheduling Agreement?

Hi,
When the program is run in background, At-Selection-Screen is not called, hence doing anything under At-Selection-Screen wont work in back ground. While running in background, you have to enter code in Initialization after putting a check for background execution.

How does automatic client setup work in the clients connected to a standard leopard server ?
I used a standard leopard server and I was so happy about the automatic configuration of my leopard clients. Utility Directory setups all the applications in the right way.
Now I have an advanced leopard server and I have lost this option. Can I reproduce it in any way? (For example with terminal commands).
Any help is appreciated...

There is no difference please be aware that each login is provided with two activations however. If you wish to have a computer at both work and home activated though that is perfectly fine as long as your employer is ok with using company software at home.

Hi,
I was wondering, does iTunes in the Cloud only work for purchased music?
Also, does the automatic wifi sync feature not sync everything that it would if you manually iniate the wifi sync? The reason I ask is because my iPhone is often connected to my charger, and then today I decided to perform a manual wifi sync and it had a lot of content to update, definitly way more than any changes I've made since I plugged it in to the charger last night.

You can turn on Music, Apps,and Books by tapping Settings > Store
Connecting your iPhone to a wall charger should not have any effect on sycning.

How are we supposed to work with the new motion tweens if there's no motion editor anymore?

How are we supposed to work with the new motion tweens if there's no motion editor anymore? Without motion editor we can't see what kind of keyframes are set and we can't set any accelerations anywhere. Does Adobe now want us to go back and use the old motion tweens?

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

How Does EJB 2.0 Specification Change the BC4J?

I had read the while paper of BC4J thoroughly. The following statement interested me:
"As Oracle9iAS, WebLogic, and other J2EE application server vendors begin to rollout complete support for the new EJB 2.0 specification in the first half of 2002, a new release of the BC4J framework will be released which includes support for the new local entity beans. This work entails enhancing our lightweight, local entity classes to support the necessary interface to be lightweight EJB 2.0 Local Entity Beans. ...."
I have searched all the documents about BC4J, but I couldn't find anything more about "How Does EJB 2.0 Specification Change the BC4J?"
I think the "Local EJB Entity Beans" is similar with BC4J DAO. So is there someone who can tell me how does EJB 2.0 Specification change the BC4J?
Any help would be appreciated!

We support using local CMP entity beans as your persistence layer for your entity objects, but as it adds an extra layer, it's turned out (in all honesty) to not be that popular a feature.
The performance offered by the simpler BC4J entity object (plain old java class) is fine, and the notion of using simple java beans for your model is widely recognized as a fine option for J2EE applications.
For example, check out Rod Johnson's book called "Expert one-to-one: J2EE Design and Development" which covers this subject excellently.
