How make insert form in adf

Hello
I try to drag a VO into JSP and make insert form. I don't know why the form always set the first value form DB to my insert form.
Please show me the way to make insert form form VO.

Which Jdev version? if i understood correctly then you want to open a form in Insert mode.... then do the following
if you are using Jdev 11g then Drag and Drop the CreateInsert Method under operation in your data control in the bounded task flow as default activity make a Control flow to your View activity

How to make a form

I've made an sql file and i can connect to it in Oracle Forms 6i. I can see the tables and columns in the Object Navigator, and now i would like to make a form. As you can tell, im new to Oracle Forms, so how do i go about it?

New problem:
I notice that the canvas i am working on has a toolbar at the top with many buttons like insert, exit... However, i do not want these shown when the form runs because i dont want the user to have all of those privelages, so i would like to remove this toolbar and replace it with buttons of my own. So:
1) is there a way to remove this toolbar?
2) I cant see a command button property that does the equivalent of Action -> Save. Does this mean i need to make a trigger to save changes?

Im using oracle forms 11gR2 and everything is working fine, but my question in how to make the forms url short to the end user.
For example my forms url is " http://localhost:9001/forms/frmservlet " now i want to modify this url as "myweb.gov.ae"
can anybody suggest me the possibilities to change to default forms url to our own url as mentioned in the above example.

You would have to either -
* edit the code pointed to by the new action attribute to
include the form
processing and email generation, or
* edit the form processing script to also include the insert
record and
check user name scripting
The former is probably the better procedure, since I suppose
you'd want to
do the check user name before sending the email.
Unfortunately, this means
you will have to get your hands into the code, or hire
someone to do it for
you.

I suggest you insert into both tables separately, with both in the same transaction so you can rollback all changes if one of the inserts fails.
Also, put all your code in a try/catch/finally block, and close the resultSet, preparedStatemnt, and connection in the finally block.
You can search Google for examples of how to do the above.
I also suggest you form the sql statments as follows
String sql1 ="Insert into employee (employeeId,name), values(?,?);
String sql2 = "Insert into department (departmentId,name) values(?,?)";

I have table employees and this is my master table
Table Name: Employees
Columns:
Employee_id(PK)
Employee_name
Employee_Salary
I have a child table that is called related employee that contains employees related to this employee
Table_name: Related_Employee
Columns:
Related_Employee_Table_Id(PK)
Employee_id(FK)
Related_Employee_Id
When I open employee id = 100 for example and add related employee id = 10
this is added with no problem but the requirement is that when I open employee 10 I find employee id 100 as related employee
How can I make this scenario.

The best way to understand this is to look at an example. If you are using an oracle database such as XE for you have a schema called hr. This shema has a number of tables two of which are departments and employees. a department has multiple employees correct. So in your example a employee may be related to x # of other employees perhaps. A very similar scenario as that in the hr Schema. If you don't have an Oracle XE database, download one from here -> http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/express-edition/downloads/index.html
Create Business Components off of the Departments and Employees schema and you'll see that due to the db design, you get what you're talking about for free (i.e. the join). Thus, you have the master-detail relationship you're looking for. For a quick tip, here is the relationship between departments and employees in the hr schema via a create script that you can exam with data inserts included:

Calling Oracle Forms from ADF - refresh problem makes it unusable!

Hi everybody!
I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 and I need to call an Oracle form (Forms 10g) inside my ADF application. I did exactly what explained in the Oracle doc at this link

and it works fine. I've put the code inside a region that is in a tab page of my ADF application. The problem is that EVERYTHING I do outside that form (changing tab page, pressing a button,...) makes the page refresh and my form resets (actually it's the applet that reloads).
How can I avoid this? Is there any way to make the form stay alive even if ADF events trigger? As it is now launching a form inside ADF is completely useless.
I posted this question also in the JDeveloper forum but nobody is answering so maybe here someone can help.

In Forms 11g, you can set the following parameter in the Forms Server's formsweb.cfg configuration file "legacy_lifecycle=true", which will prevent the applet restarting when the ADF pages are in between page loads. However, I dont know if this exists in 10g Forms. Give it a try.

If you are using ADFBC, the easiest way is
- drop the data control as ADF form
- add CreateInsert method binding to the pagedef
- add an invokeAction for the createInsert with a refresh property set to renderModel so that an empty creation form will be shown on page load
for insertion
- Finally, add the commit action as button

For smartforms u need to go for the transaction (tcode) SMARTSTYLES... here u can create paragraph and character formats globally...

open TNAPR table and give the output type you need to modify.... get the print program name and check if some structure already have the date you wanted... if you have it already... then open the form in SE71 tr. and provide the strcuture name - feild in the position you want to have the date...

That's a pretty basic form built using an older version of Acrobat (not sure what you are using. This is the Reader forum by the way).

How can I make a form show complex composite data?
We would like a form to display the following information:
Employee Names as the columns, 1 row for each calendar day, and each item in the block containing the total sales amount (and other information) for that employee for that day.
This would require the block to function as a (composite) crosstab report.
Here is an example:
We have employees: Jane, John, Jim, and Janice
We would like to see their total sales for the following days: 5/1 .. 5/5
Jane John Jim Janice
5/1 50 8 10 3 30 5 20 7
5/2 40 7 60 8 10 2 30 4
5/3 20 3 50 8 70 9 50 9
5/4 51 8 40 7 40 8 50 8

We have a table with records of each day, for each employee, and their sales for that day.
There is a possibility our list of employees can change as well as the number of days.
Anyone tried doing anything like this with a form? We don't want to just embed a report because we would like to include other data as well besides what is mentioned above and we would like them to be able to change some of that data. Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a VERY similar problem where I want to have this matrix on the form with six days worth of data (three columns for each day) for my data table. I have done as Momen has suggested and created a view (using SQLPLUS):
create table weekdays (weekday varchar2(3), date_x date);
drop view employee_absences_v;

select weekday,
absence_date,
hours,
absence_code_lvid,
adjustment_status_lvid
from employee_absences ea, weekdays wd;
that hopefully provides a row for each day of the week for my data table. The view is created OK but I'm not sure how to get it into the form properly. Also, I am using the form to CREATE rows in the data table not just SELECT and DISPLAY and there may or may not be a row of data for a corresponding day which is going to be a problem for me using this view method, I think. Let me know how this goes and if you get your form to work and how? Momen, your method appeals to me but it's not 100% clear how to get it to work in a form?

How can I make my form be a certified document?

In my form, I want to export xml by using the script "Reference_Syntax.exportData( [ STRING param1 [, BOOLEAN param2 ] ])",
for example, xfa.host.exportData("filename.xml",0).
However, it is invalid.
It says that "This parameter1 is only valid on certified documents where the user has sufficient
permissions".
But how can I make my form be a certified document, or how can I get the sufficient permissions?
Script "xfa.host.exportData("",0)" can be valid, but what I need is specifying the location and file name so that users can export xml just by clicking the button.
Can I achieve this function?

Please take a look at this discussion. Also, are your end users using Adobe Reader? If so, your document must be Reader Enabled withed LiveCycle RE to use the import / export xml functionality.

Tou need to do a couple of things
1. On the Essbase server, set up an odbc system connection to your MySQL database
2. In the load rule , go to the file menu and select open SQL data source and in the data source put in your SQL statement . A couple of hints. Where it says Select, don't put in the word select and where it say from don't put in from. The system adds them for you. The easiest way ti enter a SQL statement is to do it all in the select area So if your SQL would normanlly say select * from mytable just enter the code as * from mytable in the select area
The click ol/retrieve and enter in your connection info. Itshould bring data back into the load rule. Save the load rule and use it
