How much interfaces can be driven in "real-time" with a VI in LABVIEW 6i

In my application I need to merged data from different devices hanging to my computer via different interface types. Each data set in to be specifically formatted in a file. Each data set comes a a rate of ~ 10 Hz.
As acquisition devices I do have
- 4 digitizers connected to the PCI bus and their labview driver are already given by the constructor
- an instrument from which data to be imported via a GPIB interface
- an instrument from which data are imported via a serial port
- and probably in the future, 2 devices mounted on two USB port
I wish to developp a LABVIEW 6i code which permit me to make the request to all instrument, to import the data and to merged them as quick as possible so
that I can store data set coming every 0,1 s. All data from all instruments must be recorded for the same event at the same time (in a triggered manner) before it performs the acquistions for the next event
I would like to know what is the best way to each my goal.
- Is it possible to control all this with one VI (containing lot of VIs) ?
- Should I execute a VI for each interface and run them at the same time and save all data set with a time stamps in a file and then, off-line, process all the files and merge my information.
In a general manner, are there any rules which indicate the maximum number of interface (according to their nature) which can be properly controled on a given platform from one computer.
Thanks you very much for any answers

Its been a couple of days with no reply....
Look at the occurence functions.
You can have one loop send occurences at teh rate you need.
Put each of the other functions in seperate loops that wait for the occurence on each interation.
Provided each of your loops runs fast enough this approach should serve you up till you run into the indeterminism of Windows. If the the indeterminism will be an issue, you may have to go with LV Real-Time.

  • How much text can be displayed at one time on a 5th gen 60 gig ipod

I am going on a trip soon and have 2 text files that i am going to put in the Notes section on my ipod. Before editing those files are 64k and around 250k.
Which ones will fit? And what is the max size the ipod can bring up at one time?

Both notes will fit, but only the first 4000 characters of each will be displayed; you can split the files at this site.

  • How many people can you email at one time with Mail?

I am using filemaker pro 9 to email some of my customers. Does anyone know if there is a limit? Can I send 3,000 people the same email? I have them in my address book. I sent one email yesterday to my list and it appears not all emails were received.
Thanks if anyone knows what the limit is.
    Judy

Mail does not set any particular limit; your email provider would be setting limits. But if you're sending bulk emails, all the recipients should be in the BCC field, not the To: field, as everyone in that field is counted as a separate message. You (the sender) should be the only one listed in the To: field.
At the same time, putting everyone in the To: field violates the privacy of everyone else and exposes them to the very real risk of having their email address hijacked and used to send and receive spam.

  • Why is it that I can no longer play Real Time with Bill Mayer on my IPad or IPod.

My IPad and IPod Touch software are up to date.  This is the first time I have not been able to download; I've been listening to podcasts for several months.
    Thanks, Juanita

The latest three episodes, released 20 June, do not play: there is no file on the server. This is his problem, not yours.

  • How can I implement a real time datawarehouse

Hi, I'm a little lost here but I want to know how can I implement a real time datawarehouse in sql server, I don't know if it is only to make the extraction process the shortest time possible.
    Thank you

    Hi Mega15,
I agree with everything Seif and Louw said, but I'd like to add that if you are using SQL Server 2012 or 2014 and you want to use DirectQuery or ROLAP mode (depending on what SSAS mode are you using, tabular or multidimensional) you may be interested on
using columnar indexes on your base tables.
Analytical and aggregated queries will take GREAT advantage from these indexes, they will perform much better than with traditional B-Tree indexes in most of your scenarios.
    Regards.

  • How much Ram can I add to my MacBook Pro?

Another non-techie here with a memory question
How much RAM can I add to my MacBook
    Model Identifier: MacBookPro2,1
    MacBook Pro (late 2006)
Processor 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Current memory: 2GB (two SO-DIMMs) 667 MHz DDRs SDRAM (PC2-5300)
The actual installation sounds quite simple.  I just want to be sure I get the right chips.  Any sources you can recommend?
    TIA

  • How much RAM can go into my Macbook Pro

Hey, I wanted to ask how much RAM can go into my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro I looked at this guide http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1270?viewlocale=en_US#link1 and it said I can only but In 8 GB I want to put 16 GB but was wondering if this would ruin my computer. I am asking because I have heard about 16 GB going into many Macbooks   Thank you!
    Here are my specs
    13-inch, Mid 2012
    Memory  4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Processor  2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
Graphics  Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
    Serial Number  C1MKLGFEDTY3
    Software  OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
Your Mac contains 2 memory slots, each of which accepts
    a 1600 MHz DDR3 memory module.
If any more info is needed than plz tell me and I will ad it

  • How much ram can my MBP support?

First of all, there are two slots for RAM in a MBP, right?
Is there a limit to how much each can support, and a total limit for both?
I just discovered an article on DIGG about 8 GB sticks of RAM, and it got me thinking.

The actual amount of RAM depends on the specific model, since you don't mention that, it's impossible to tell.
However, I can tell you that currently the most any MacBook Pro supports is 4GB of RAM - two 2GB DIMMs.
I don't know the Digg article you're referring to, but it's highly unlikely that it's referring to laptop memory. It's likely to be full-sized DIMMs where space and power consumption are less important factors (all laptops use low-profile DIMMs which consume less power and take up less space than DIMMs used in desktop computers).

  • How much ram can my iMac take?

Hi all, just bought a iMac a few days ago and I'm just wondering how much ram can it take as I want to upgrade it. It didnt come with a manual, so I don't know.
    Here's the spec so far
    Early 2008 20"
Processor  2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory  2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Graphics  ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT 128 MB
    Software  OS X 10.8.2 (12C60)
Thanks for any help in advance

There are two answers: the official Apple answer and the "you're on your own" answer.
1 - For the official iMac max RAM, see iMac Memory specifications and upgrades
2 - For the "your're on your own" answer, everymac.com has a list of the Actual Maximum RAM you can put in every model Mac.  In many cases this is more than the official maximum RAM.
After deciding how much RAM you want to put in your iMac, I suggest going to Crucial.com and use the memory advisor or system scanner to see what RAM modules are compatible with your iMac.

  • How much ram can a macbook pro 2GHz Intel Core i7 Handle

Wanting to upgrade my RAM and need to know how much it can handle. HOpefully someone can answer this for me

Be sure you buy from a reputable Mac-friendly supplier as Macs are notoriously sensitive to memory.  Two of the best are Crucial and OWC, http://www.macsales.com
They stand behind their products, have great support, and on-line videos on doing the installation.

  • How much memory can I install in my mac book pro?

Mac book pro 2.4 GHz late 2011 i7....How much memory can I install? Currently have 4Gb but want to run Win 7 on VMware and want to make sure my user has enough

The position of Apple is that the Late 2011 can take 8 GB, however, OWC, http://www.macsales.com and Crucial, http://www.crucial.com both guarantee their 16 GB ram packages to work.  Both are sellers of high quality ram that is guaranteed to work in Macs.

  • How much ram can I put  In a 12" 867MHZ?

    Hi,
I've just picked up a 12" 867mhz Powerbook for a very reasonable price! My question is how much ram can i put in it? It currently has 640mb. Also if i can put some more in it will it run Leopard?

Bear in mind you can customise the install of Leopard to exclude some languages and particularly exclude printer drivers that aren't relevant to you, this will substantially lower the total required space. 12" Powerbooks are rather fiddly to work on - here's a really thorough guide on Hard drive replacement etc. for your Powerbook:

  • How much memory can i put in my imac

how much memory can i put in my new imac

Assuming it's a 27" 2012 machine, it will accomodate up to 32GB. I'd strongly recommend reputable vendors such as OWC (www.macsales.com) or Crucial.
If you bought a 21.5" iMac the RAM is not upgradeable. The 21.5" machines will accomodate up to 16GB from Apple however you have to order the machine with 16GB directly. OWC does provide RAM upgrade kits for the 2012 210.5" iMacs however it is MAJOR surgergy and is full of risks including fatally damaging the machine and invalidating the warranty.
