How netbeans starts you off...

When I start a new project in NetBeans, it starts me off with the following code.
public class Main {
     /** Creates a new instance of Main */
     public Main()
      * @param args the command line arguments
     public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
}Why does it include this:
     /** Creates a new instance of Main */
     public Main()
     }It's not necessary is it?

Meh....I'm familiar on the academic end of it. I've spent the last 8 months doing highly structured mainframe programming (the farthest thing from OO programming).
I'm trying to do a project/favor for my boss to automate a task that takes up several days out of each year. It's actually a great project to start wrapping my head around OO programming.
Anyhow - yes I'm familiar with it. However, I still learning to think that way.
In any of the programs that I've ever written, it's main that calls everything else. I guess it makes sense if, at some point, something else needs to use Main or it's instance methods.

    BTW how do you people quote other people in colour like that? I can't find out how to do it. This website is NOT helpful or intuitive the way Apple used to be.
    If you are referring to regular text, then use the advanced editor and use this for different color:
    And if you're referring to clickable links (in blue) -  that is by default if you use this to paste a URL:

    this is a very annoying feature.

    For applications, there is a setting in the General System preferences, or use cmd-option-q to quit applications.
    For the system, you can uncheck the box on shutdown each time or use one of the techniques posted in other threads. There are quite a few threads discussing it: https://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?peopleEnabled=true&userID=&containerTy pe=&container=&spotlight=true&q=disable+resume

    hey,

    You really should be asking this NetBeans question at the NB site - these forums are for Java language topics, not NB support.

    Almost any NB question you have can be answered by either the NB web documentation or the NB program's Help.

    how do I turn off the default radio in my music app.  I cannot play my playlist until it first defaults to radio and then I have to start all over. this is very tedious!!!

    This got me curious when I first saw it... It does indeed seem very Un-Apple-like (at least historically) to prevent a user from customizing their own device - Mac or iDevice - but today I'm unsure. I cannot grasp how a UX designer could leave a simple "OFF" switch out of the control panel. Another thing that Music Data Streaming does is eat up your Data Plan.
    This May  not be the exact issue as you describe, but seems to solve an issue of a Radio Playlist in iTunes resuming where it left off from the last use...

      Re: How do you turn off i tunes radio on the ipad air once it starts playing songs?  in response to Betty91545
    Play last song on list, songs will then stop.  Works for me on iPad. Haven't tried yet on iPhone.
    It is likely that THIS may be part of the real reason to push the iTunes Radio feature - revenue stream (nobody remembers "Payola?"):
    Apple is more beholden to the shareholders than in the old days

    Thank you for all of your answer.

    I've seen it mentioned on here that a PRAM reset may solve it:
    Reset PRAM
    Shut down the computer.
    Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P and R.
    You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
    Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • How can I turn off Start up Sound?

    How can I turn off the start up sound, on both my 10.7.5  iMac 24" Late 2006 and my 10.8.3  iMac 27" Late 2009 Mountain Lion.
    Plus my Superdrive has stopped working on both Computers. Please help asap.
    With kind regards, and many thanks.

    The best way to turn off the startup sound is to mute speakers before turning off your computer.
    Also, apps that help you turn off the startup sound don't work with iMacs. There's a command that will allow you to turn it off without muting your speakers. See > http://osxdaily.com/2012/11/04/disable-mac-boot-chime/

  • How do I turn off the "bong" start up tone without turning off all other sounds?

    How do I turn off the "bong" start up sound without turning off all other sounds?

    The start up tone is an important part of the start up sequence however if you want turn it off there are utilties that will do that. You can use Google to find one.
    BTW, if you look in your owners manual it says;
    "If you‘ll be away from your iMac for less than a few days, put it to sleep. When youriMac is in sleep, its screen is dark. You can quickly wake your iMac and bypass thestartup process."
    My recommendation, follow the manual and don't shut the computer down.

  • How can I turn off other languages on my ipad running ios7?  It has Japanese or Chinese and the international keyboard is set to English.  Thank you.

    How can I turn off other languages on my ipad the next generation running ios7?  I have the international language set to English but it's showing a foreign language and sometimes it shows the foreign language with English.  Thank you.

    The complete backup and restore procedure is explained in the link above.
    If you don't want to do a restore, then your iPad may remain in the unstable state you have for the moment.
    You can change the country in the App Store. Have a look at the bottom of the App Store screen, you can change the country and also do the permanent change via Manage > Account.
    You can change the language in iTunes via General Preferences > under General tab.
