How often have inverted commas in an inserted text to be doubled?

Hello,
if I want to insert a text into a string field and the text contains inverted commas, how often have these inverted commas to be doubled, to avoid inserting errors and to keep the original inverted commas after insertion?
Example "this is a text to be inserted and it contains *'text in inverted commas'* and normal text" How has it to look to keep the single inverted commas in the the text after inserting it?
Regards
Carsten

Use (a) the quote operator or (b) escape quotes.
For the first case, assuming you're on 10g or higher, your example would be:
Insert into tab1 values( q'{this is a text to be inserted and it contains 'text in inverted commas'}'); For the second case, simply add a single quote to escape another. Your example would be:
Insert into tab1 values( 'this is a text to be inserted and it contains ''text in inverted commas'''); (Notice the trailing quote is the end-quote for the entire text.)

I often have to open files .cue with Text Edit. Right Click, Open with, Others, Text Edit. Is it possible to put Text Edit in the menu avoiding to use "others"?

The easiest way is to keep Textedit in the Dock and drag the .cue file(s) to the Dock icon.
You can also create an Automator Service:
    Open Automator
    Select: Service
Select Service receives selected [files or folders] in [Finder]
    and:
Then select one or more .cue file, right click (or Control-click) on the selection to display the contextual menu. Scroll to the bottom of the contextual menu and select Services -> (what you named the Service).

My new iPhone 4s is needing to be charged more than once a day with moderate usage... is this "normal"?   I know it is not an exact science and depends on many factors such as what the phone is doing and various settings, etc., but in general / ballpark: What is the expected "normal" range for how often one would expect to have to charge the 4s?  Thanks in advance for any help/insight...

  • Avoid Commit after every Insert that requires a SELECT

    Hi everybody,
    Here is the problem:
I have a table of generator alarms which is populated daily. On daily basis there are approximately 50,000 rows to be inserted in it.
Currently i have one month's data in it ... Approximately 900,000 rows.
    here goes the main problem.
before each insert command, whole table is checked if the record does not exist already. Two columns "SiteName" and "OccuranceDate" are checked... this means, these two columns are making a unique record when checked together with an AND operation in WHERE clause.
we have also implemented partition on this table. and it is basically partitioned on the basis of OccuranceDate and each partition has 5 days' data.
    say
    01-Jun to 06 Jun
    07-Jun to 11 Jun
    12-Jun to 16 Jun
    and so on
    26-Jun to 30 Jun
    NOW:
we have a commit command within the insertion loop, and the each row is committed once inserted, making approximately 50,000 commits daily.
    Question:
Can we commit data after say each 500 inserted rows, but my real question is can we Query the records using SELECT which are Just Inserted but not yet committed ?
a friend told me that, you can query the records which are inserted in the same connection session but not yet committed.
    Can any one help ?
Sorry for the long question but it was to make u understand the real issue. :(

Don't worry about it - I just said that because the experts over there will help you much better. If you post your code details there they will give suggestions on optimizing it.
Doing a SELECT between every INSERT doesn't seem very natural to me, but it all depends on the details of your code.
Also, not committing on time may cause loss of the uncommitted changes. Depending on how critical the data is and the dependency of the changes, you have to commit after every INSERT, in between, or at the end.

  • Inserting inverted comma in constant

    Hi
I have to include an inverted comma in text literal.
    How to do this.
The text is  'MSD Int' l Services B.V.'
Note the comma after "int" in above text
    if i declare like this
    constants:c_1048_text TYPE char40 VALUE 'MSD Int' l Services B.V.'.
    this is giving error.

    Hi Ajay,
You can write (so 2 inverted commas):
    constants:c_1048_text TYPE char40 VALUE 'MSD Int'' l Services B.V.'.
    Regards,
    John.

  • How often should the Cisco 6509 and 3750 switches be rebooted? Does Cisco have a best practice recommendation?

How often should the 6509's and 3750's switches be rebooted?
Does Cisco have a best practice document on this and recommendation how long the switch should be up before it gets rebooted?
Why is a reboot needed if there are no indications of issues on the log?

    I'd agree with Larry here.
If you're not seeing any issues with your IOS revision and there are no relevant PSIRTs (security notices applicalble to features and or exposure of your device requiring an IOS upgrade) then you can go a very long time without rebooting, if ever.
I'm sure it's far from a record, but our corporate distribution router that supports >1000 downstream devices day in and day out has never been rebooted since installation just over 5 years ago. I have a top of rack Layer 2 switch (2900 series running CatOS) that's almost at 10 years.
That said, you should have some monitoring scheme that assures you everything is healthy. But as long as memory and cpu are happy, the device will run forever.

  • Does anyone know how often camera raw is updated for new cameras I have a nikon D750

HI, I was wondering how often camera raw is updated for new cameras as I have just got a Nikon D750 and at present cannot adjust raw files

Thanks for the image sample, bsailus. I am also unable to open the file.
    A couple of questions.
How did you import the image (Nikon transfer, Adobe Photo Downloader, etc.)?
What was the in-camera quality setting for the image (NEF (RAW), Lossless compressed, 12-bit, 14-bit, etc.)?
    Thanks!

i have been getting this message " no sim installed " too many times then my phone goes off , its iphone 4S , its really a problem i cant get calls or anything and im not sure how to take the SIM out then insert it again , what to do ??

Use the sim tool that came with your phone or a safety pin and just insert it into the hole at the side of the sim tray and push it in and then pull it out.  It is no more difficult than that and then just close it again.

  • Problem with inverted commas in texts in WAD

    Hi all,
I've a problem with description texts in WAD. In a graph where one of the columns have the description, let's say something like ' bla"bla ' (in Hebrew we've texts with inverted commas in the middle of the word) and when I point with my mouse on the point to see the value in numbers the text is cut. let's say 'bla"bla' had 15 value it wouldn't show it, but it would show 'bla'. if the text is ' bla ' with value 18, it shows ' bla 18' .
    How can i solve it?
    thank you,
    Yoav.
