Yeah. If you're gonna go ACTUAL HTML output, then forget the line break and just put each indexed value into a <p> tag (which, because it's a block-level element, will place it on each line)

Dear all,
I'm getteing mad with the following issue and need your help.
I'm working at a PDF-Form including a table. The Values in this table create a datamatrix. This works fine for now.
Here is my issue: The values in the table are numbers like 12.2 but also 12 or 9 but maximum two digits in front of the "."(dot). Seperation character should be a "." In Germany there is the ","(comma) instead of the "." at the number block.
For better usability it would be nice having a java script that replaces onBlur all "," with a ".". So I don't have to change the keyboard language to English.
Is this possible and if yes, how?
I am an absolutely noob on javascript, so please be patient and do not expect any specific knowledge.
What I tried (menue is translatet from the German version, I don't know if it is correct:
onBlur.replace(",", ".");
I put this in (right click on form) -> properties ->action ->
add action: on mouse exit
choose action: run JavaScript
click on "add"
Then I copied the terminus from the top in the opening window. Ready (at least this was my thought...)
It dit not work, now I nedd your help.

The solution was much easier than expected:
when you open "properties" by right clicking on the form, go to "validation" NOT "action" (make sure you are in the form editing mode: "tools" -> "forms" -> "edit")
then chose "run user defined script" and click on "edit"
type in the following line:
event.value = event.value.replace(/\,/g, ".");
click "OK" and then "Close"
Then you are done. Now, when you leave the form field Acrobat checks if there is a comma and replaces it with a dot.
For me this was the easiest way to make it work.

Öffnet man "Eigenschaften" mit einem Rechtsklick auf das Formular, muss man "Validierung" und nicht "Aktionen" auswählen. (man muss im Formulareditierungsmodus sein: "Werkzeuge" -> "Formulare" -> "Bearbeiten")
dann unter "Benutzerdefiniertes Validierungsskript ausführen" auf "Berabeiten" klicken.
Im Editorfenster folgende Zeile eingeben:
event.value = event.value.replace(/\,/g, ".");
Über "OK" und "Schließen" zurück zu den Eigenschaften
Das war's. Nun ersetzt Acrobat im Formularfeld jedes Komma durch einen Punkt.

M.AnanthuI'm not aware of any mechanism in Javascript that can help with this. In our fully-internationalized web applicaiton we choose to perform all locale-dependent validation server-side. This includes dates, numbers, currency values etc. About the only thing we check in Javscript is that required fields are filled in.
I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has solved this in Javscript. Its possible that you could dynamically generate a Javscript validation routine based on the locale-specific formatting symbols, but we decided it wasn't worth it.

expected the result is

I want to replace only those commas with a ~ if they are part of the string enclosed in a pair of singe quotes.

Then you should find or build a parser.
Unless the DML is very well constrained or the set is very small and will remain so, by the time you finish mucking around with all the possibilities attempting it with regexes you will have a parser but not a very good one. -
How to make Mail break lines at X characters?

Is there a way to have Mail automatically create linebreaks at a certain character length when composing an e-mail? It's a common request on many mailing lists to not send e-mails with longer lines than 80 characters.

/rodaA coworker has the same issue. When he sends to another colleague that uses the command line mail app in Linux, the Linux user only sees one long line for each paragraph.
To (sort of) fix this in Snow Leopard, we created an Automator service that takes highlighted text, runs the Unix command line "fmt" command, and replaces the text with the wrapped text.
To do the same, start Automator and select the Service template. The first line has:
Service receives selected "text" in "any application"
Leave the first item as "text" and either leave "any application" or change it to "Mail.app".
Make sure Replaces selected text is highlighted.
Next, click on the Utilities icon under Actions. Drag the "Run Shell Script" icon to the right pane. Replace "cat" with "fmt -s -70" to wrap lines at 70 characters and collapse whitespace (multiple spaces, tabs) into a single space. If you do not want to collapse the spaces, leave out the "-s". Use Save as to name the new service.
Open System Preferences, select Keyboard and then Keyboard Shortcuts. Click on Services. Scroll down and find your new service. Click on the + at the bottom of the window. Select Application and choose Mail or all applications. Give it a name (I reused the same name as the service) and a shortcut.
To use it, highlight the text and press the keyboard shortcut. The text should reappear wrapped at 70 characters. If you edit some more and the lines no longer wrap correctly, just run it again.

Is there a way to execute only certain lines of code in the script file without executing all the code in it. Wihtout using the comment syntax.
e.g: there are lines to create views and in the next set of line there are lines to create procedures. One of the question in Page 3 is to re-arrange the sentence that is in the form of bullets. In the text area, as there are no formatting the candidate just gives hyphen - and enters all the sentences.. so in the DB the values are saved in the single line and when we evaluate the paper, it looks odd. So we want to replace the hyphen with the line break
, so that when evaluating the paper, the format looks good, enter of one sentence there will be a line break.
After the candidate is done with the Page 3, clickig next button, saves the values to the DB, and the page (branching) goes to Page 4 and clicking the Previous button takes the candidate to Page 2 (branching).

My iPhone 3G (8G) has the White screen with Grey lines, how do I fix it?
Hello!, am a new iphone user I bought an iPhone off my friend and put my sim card in the iPhone.
I've had my iPhone for 2 months nearly, when I got the iPhone it was in Great condition still is...BUT... I have the 'white screen of death' but with grey lines down the screen, I thought it was only tempory because when I smacked the phone against something it would work again, but now the problem is Permanant!!
I've been on youtube and typed in my problem and people have suggested:
- Holding the home screen and lock at the same time (it did nothing)
- Holding the home screen and lock and the up volume key (it did nothing)
- Restoring and updating the phone (it just came up with errors 4,9 and 21)
I really have no idea what to do, can I replace the whole screen? would that work?
or am I utterly screwed?
I really can't live with out having my iPhone! Help!sounds like your LCD is broken. Replacing it would fix your problem. If you're handy with mechanical things you can replace it yourself, there are plenty of video's online who show you how. Order the parts and do it yourself, or you can pay roughly $50-75 to have it replaced.

How do I set the column content to automatic break lines

I have a problem with the column width and the column content of a standard report. Within the report are hugh entries which aren't interrupted by an space character. I set my column width to a special value by usingen "css style: display block; width: 300px;". Now the problem is that some of the column entries have a longer width than the column width is setted. So they overlock the entries of the column next to them.
My question is: How do I set the column content to automatic break lines after a certain count of characters?
After researching a couple of websites and discussion thread I found maybe a reference to the solution. I hope it help you to give me an answer.

PDFs are another animal entirely. Try adjusting the width of the column under the Print Attributes tab of the report.
If that doesn't work you'll probably need to create custom XSL-FO layouts which, depending on the tools you have at your disposal, could take some time.

Send e-mail with a file as attachment - Break line problems

I use the function SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 to send an e-mail from ABAP program.
With SAP4.5B, all work good, but since we have 4.6C, the attached file is malformatted.
An automatic CRLF break line is generated all 1022 char!
The eattachment is create from content of internal table with a line of 255 char.
How can I avoid the automatic CRLF char or how can I to send a good file ?
