How send menu shortcut keystroke from child to parent panel

Hello,
I have simple question:
Parent (main) panel has a menubar and menuitems (menu_callbacks), with some shortcut keys (like <F5>, <Ctrl>+<R> etc).
The task is propagate the keystroke from the child panel to the parent panel when the parent panel is INACTIVE.
I try to make solution via EVENT_KEYSTROKE and CallPanelCallback(), but this solution doesn't work correctly ...
Any hits will be appreciated!

you are right, the example of course works correctly.
I'm such a fool, - because I thought of the child panels in "user", not the programmatic concept.
Explanation: the "child" panels are programmed as "top-level panel", I use
panel = DuplicatePanel (0, gui_dpl_pPoll, title, VAL_KEEP_SAME_POSITION, VAL_KEEP_SAME_POSITION);
because I want to let the child panel 'float' over whole display ().
When I change
panel = DuplicatePanel (main_pMain, gui_dpl_pPoll, title, ...
the keystroke is propagated correctly .... But the child panel is (of course) cropped to parent panel boundary.
So I rephrase the question - how to send menu shortcut keystroke (not processed) from one (top-level) panel to another panel?

External Context Mapping - Pass data from Child to Parent

Hello,
I have the following scenario:
DCParent Component (contains)
- DCChildComp1    (used DC)
- DCChildComp2    (used DC)
- DCChildComp3    (used DC)
- DCChildComp4    (used DC)
What user enters in DCChildComp1 then needs to be made available to DCParent and all other DCChildComp(n) siblings.
I have looked the posts and blogs in SDN and all of them seem to deal with passing inputField data from Parent to Child. May be I am missing it.
In my case, I need the data to be passed from DCChildComp1 to DCParent ie Child to Parent. Then from DCParent to other DCChildComps.
How should I go about
a. defining the context nodes and Component Interface context nodes in parent vs child vs siblings and
b. how should I map them externally?
Step by step instruction would be helpful.

Thanks for all the help. As I had already seen all the links and blogs you had linked here, I was still confused about how it all came together. Finally, I got it after reading Bertram Ganz's response in this thread [Context Mapping problem;.
when you map a context in the parent comp to an interface context in the used child component you do not define an external context mapping relation. That's normal context mapping as the data context resides in the child component.
I have it working now and I am able to push the changes in the child component's context to the parent.
For those who are interested in how I did it (and those who know a better way to do it
In the child component DC:
Map Child's View Context to Child's Controller Context
Map Child's Controller Context to Child's Interface Controller (make sure the inputEnabled is FALSE - as the child is the data producer and the parent is the data consumer, in my case)
In the parent DC:
Add child DC as a Used DC
Add child Component as a Used Component in the Parent Component
Add Child's Interface Controller as Required Controller in Parent Component
Map Child's Interface Controller Context to Parent's Controller Context
Map Parent's Controller Context to Parent's View Context
No external mapping required per the thread above. Now, any change in the child component's view is visible in the parent component view.

SCCM 2012 SP1 | Database Replication Failing on from Child to Parent

I am having a very urgent issue. The symptom manifested itself as an inability to distribute content (this months software update package) to a secondary site server with DP role.
As we dived into it we see that the replication links are dead with "Link has failed".
Using the replication link analyzer it fixes it for about 1 hour but then fails again. On a closer look I noticed that replication is working from parent to child but not child to parent. Also check out the time stamps:
Parent Last Send and Child Recv are both up to date, only Parent Last Recv and Child Last Send are failing.
What do I do?
None of the logs seem to tell me much other than the statesys.log on both secondaries are pumping the following line over and over again almost to fast for cmtrace to keep up with:
total chucks loaded (0)
Oh final thought, we did restore a full offline disk image of the primary server a month ago due to a hardware server failure. The snapshot of the disk luckily was taken only 30 mins before the hardware failure but I suppose there could be something related
to that although the server seems to have been fine these last few weeks until now.

Nothing I can see right now, I started the link up again, ill try to check the log right at the time the link fails this time. Here is a snip of what the child rcmctrl.log looks like:

Hi Meir,
it seems to me that you are missinig a very basic concept about the tab control: each tab actually IS a child panel! That is, all the controls you have on your test panel can be simply loaded on the tab page you want, leaving other pages unchanged.
You may be missing the scroll bar on the right, which effectively is not present on tab controls, but as far as I can see your interface could be reduced to a single table control put on a tab page with appropriate row and colunm headers.
In any case, if you don't want to heavily modify your existing code you can use InsertPanelAsTabPage () command to add a panel you have previously loaded to the tab control: in this case an existing scroll bar is maintained. Keep in mind that this instruction actually make a copy of the original panel, so you will need to retrieve the correct tab page handle to address control on the added page. The original panel can be discarded immediately after adding it to the tab control.

Passing value from child to parent (flash form)

Dear all,
I have 2 pages (both flash form): First.cfm (parent) and
Second.cfm (child).
In First.cfm, I have a textbox and a button. Once I click the
button it will load the Second page.
In Second.cfm, I have a button. Both pages are still active.
Now the question is .. when I click the button on the Second
page, how to pass the value back to the First page and assign it to
my textbox in my First page? I want the value to be displayed in my
textbox without reloading the First page.
Any suggestions and examples?

Flash CS4 - how to create event flow from children to parents?

In my opinion natural event flow direction is from children
to its parants.
E.g. when in dialog box buttons are pressed it is natural to
inform only
this dialog box about these actions. When dialog box can't
handle particular
event then passes it to its parent and so on .
Unfortunately this direction is not well supported by Flash.
To achieve
support for this event direction it is necessary to call
parent.dispatchEvent() with bubbling option off. This
solution is
inconvenient because sometimes I can't predict what event
types will be
triggered inside dialog components. Most likely there is no
function to
catch all events which have no defined handlers in dialog in
order to be
possible to pass them one level higher.

I have ran into a situation where i will have to delete all the records of the child table and then the records of parent table and i was able to write a query to get the column,table both for parent,child and stuck up in deleting them using query and

Javascript is not java, but here are a couple of tips for debugging:
You can use the browser address bar to alert stuff
ie : put this into the address bar of your browser and see what happens: javascript:alert("Hello world")
I would recommend you progress like this - slowly building up the link until you find where you go wrong.
In this case, I think you missed out a "document"

javascript:alert(window.opener.frmPadre)

javascript:alert(window.opener.frmPadre.field1)
Also just as a tip, cross browser scripting is a lot easier to maintain if you limit your self to calling FUNCTIONS in other windows.
ie rather than setting the values in the other windows textfields, call a function (with parameters) which does it.
eg in this case it might be:
window.opener.setPadreFields(document.frmHijo.field1.value, document.frmHijo.field2.value, document.frmHijo.field3.value)
The function would take the parameters and put them in the appropriate place on the form.
Doing it this way decouples the pages a little - you only interact with the other page via the function (single point of entry) and if you modify the page in the future (eg change the name of a field) it is much easier to find everywhere you need to do this.

Detaching Audio from clip from the film library panel?

I was wondering if anyone knows how to grab video only from the film library panel. I want to just pull video and not audio as I layout video only out onto my timeline and don't want to hasstle through detaching audio from each clip in the timeline. Does anyone know how to do this? I know Adobe Premier lets you do this but I'm fairly new to FCP and would like to know

Unchecking the audio in the sequence so that source/left A1 isn't connected(not touching) to timeline/right A1 will ensure audio is not added to the the a1 track.
In Premiere 5.5 if you unhighlight a1(source/left) and A1(timeline/right) no audio will be added to that track.
If you unconnect A1 & A2 in the sequence audio will never be added to timeline whether you drag a clip from a bin or insert/overwrite from the viewer window.

Thanks for the question. You can actually configure this behavior from Mail preferences:
1. Choose Preferences from the Mail menu.
2. Click Composing.
3. Deselect the checkbox for "When sending to a group, show all member addresses".
When you send an email to the group, only the groups name will be seen.
