How set policy.provider to be your class?

I have made a class EJBPolicy that extends java.security.Policy (i'm using jdk1.4), and overrides the abstract methods. Then in my java.home folder, I changed the file "java.security" so the property "policy.provider" now reads "EJBPolicy". I also changed the "java.security" file in my installation folder (just to be sure). I do not have that file in "user.home". I also added the EJBPolicy to the classpath (added both the folder it is in, as well as the file itself). Then I ran my application like this:
java -classpath D:\JAAS;D:\JAAS\M -Djava.security.manager -Djava.security.auth.login.config=jaas.conf -Djava.security.policy=jaasazn.policy JaasAzn
The "jaasazn.policy" file gives me the ability to get/set the Policy. I added a method to my policy class called getName(), which returns "EJBPolicy". However, when I do this in my app:
System.out.println(((EJBPolicy)thePolicy).getName());
it results in the error:
java.lang.ClassCastException: sun.security.provider.PolicyFile
If I call Policy.setPolicy() and set it to my class EJBPolicy, then it works. But I thought I was able to make my class the default polciy class. What am I doing wrong?

Hello,
at first you should save your origninal rt.jar in jre\lib\.....
You have two way to use you own class:
way a.)
you can create you own jar-file
for a example, my class-files are in e:\....\classes\com\myfile\security :
jar cf myrt.jar com\myfile\security\*.class <-- the new jar file is myrt.jar
I use JBUILDER4-Foundation , in his VM-Option I use the parameter:
-Xbootclasspath:E:\JBuilder4\myproject\MyTest\Classes\myrt.jar;E:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\jre\lib\rt.jar
This means, myrt.jar will load at first, then the rt.jar
Jbuilder4 call it so:
E:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\bin\javaw -classpath "E:\JBuilder4\myproject\MyTest\classes;E:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\demo\jfc\Java2D\Java2Demo.jar;E:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\jre\lib\i18n.jar;E:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\jre\lib\jaws.jar;E:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\jre\lib\rt.jar;E:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\jre\lib\sunrsasign.jar;E:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\lib\dt.jar;E:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\lib\tools.jar" -Xbootclasspath:E:\JBuilder4\myproject\MyTest\Classes\myrt.jar;E:\JBuilder4\jdk1.3\jre\lib\rt.jar mytest.App
way b.)
if you want to insert your class file in the big rt.jar-file:
jar uf rt.jar com\myfile\security\*.class
so, then you don't need the VM-Option -Xbootclasspath .
If you want to check which Policy-class is loaded:
System.out.println("Es wird folgende Policy classe verwendet");//which policy class is used ?
System.out.println(Policy.getPolicy());// print the policy class
System.out.println("ende der Policy classe info"); // end of policy info
Here is a example of my java.security-file:
#policy.provider=sun.security.provider.PolicyFile
policy.provider=com.myfile.security.MyPolicyFile
# this is my own policy-class
I hope, I could help you,
greetings, jens

    You can disable regedit  and computer management via group policy.you simply disable certain groups from editing the policy and then put the users in that group.

  • Unable to load your custom module provider's module-factory-class

    I am having a problem while I deploy my application. it gives me following error:

    Dont know how to resolve it. the class is in p13n_system.jar file, I have added that jar as a library in deployment but still it shows the same error.
    Added it in classpath as well but same error. (Dont know exactly how to add in class path, i have added just in "Start Server" tab's classpath)
    Any help will be greatly appreciated

  • How do you avoid your class to be cloned?

    Hi All,
    Can any one let me know how to avoid my class being cloned?and the scenarios where we need to implement this feature.
    Thanks in advance,
    venu.

    Override the clone() method and make it throw CloneNotSupportedException.
    Or make sure that your class doesn't implement Cloneable either directly or by inheritance, and make it final.

  • How to create an object of a class contained in a .jar?

    My application must use an API that is stored in a jar file. For example, in my Api.jar I have classes named Api, MyClass2, MyClass3, which have their methods declared public static.
    I don't know from where to start realy. This is what I did:
    I set the CLASSPATH to where my jar is. In my project properties, I added the jar as the first required library.
    If in the java class where I am calling a Api.method1() I import my class with 'import MyClass1;', I get the error: "Error #: 361 : class required, but identifier found at line 20, column 1". Of course, if I don't import it, I get another error: "Class Api not found"
    Is this problem caused by the fact that my jar's name is the same with one of the classes zipped in it?
    How to solve the problem?!? I read all the documentation regarding jars, I didn't come to a better understanding :( Can anyone provide me a sample with the use of a jar? Thank you!

    Do your classes have a state their package?
    Don't forget your Jar files manifest must also state its package. This is my problem - I am using a third party .jar file, which contains 3 classes not included in any package (practically they are only zipped into a .jar). I don't know how to access them...

    It is quite clear you have an incorrect setting in your weblogic configuration:

    Can you please check your config.xml and ensure your admin host and port is valid?

    Hi all.
    I have stanalone offline RootCA, and enterprise domain SubCA on DC on Windows 2012 server. I have Windows 2003 Terminal Server, users logon to TS via smart cards - and this work fine.
    Now I added Windows server 2012 as "Terminal Server".
    Now I added Windows server 2012 R2 as "Terminal Server".
    I configured both servers identically.
    Users can logon via smart card to Windows Server 2012.
    Users CAN NOT logon via smart card to Windows Server 2012 R2.
     When user trying to logon via smart card, they have information:
    "An untrusted cartification authority was detected while processing the domain controller certificate used for authentication. Additional information..."
    I run a certutil.exe -scinfo on both Windows 2012/2012R2 servers.
    I found differences in the (~) same place in the output log.

    Whether Windows 2012R2 is not trying to build a certificate path, treating smart card logon certificate as (Sub)CA certificate?
    Previous and probably wrong idea:
    The only thing that comes to my mind is my SubCA.
    I have two CA Certyficates:
    Certyficate #0 (expired)
    Certyficate #1 <- valid.
    I guess that all Windows before Windows 2012 R2 build certyficafion chain from valid (second #1) certyficate. Windows 2012 R2 take first and we have:
    "A certification chain processed correctly, but one of the CA certificates is not trusted by the policy provider.
    [ value]  800B0112 "
    This is a bug or feature?
    How I can fix this without removal Certificate #0 from my SubCA?
    Best regards

  • How to restructure this code into separate classes?

    I have C# code that initializes a force feedback joystick and plays an effect file(vibrates the joystick). I have turn the console application into library
    code to make a dll so that I can use it in LabVIEW.
    Right now all the code is written under one class, so went I put the dll in LabVIEW I can only select that one class. labVIEW guy told me that I need to
    restructure my C# code into separate classes. Each class that I want to access from LabVIEW needs to marked as public. Then I can instantiate that class in LabVIEW using a constructor, and call methods and set properties of that class using invoke nodes and
    property nodes.
    How can I do this correctly? I tried changing some of them into classes but doesn't work. Can you guys take a look at the code to see if it is even possible
    to break the code into separate classes? Also, if it is possible can you guide me, suggest some reading/video, etc.
    Thank you

    Imho he means the following.
    Your class has performs two tasks:
    Controlling the joystick.
    Managing the joystick with a form.
    So I would recommend, that you separate the WinForm from the joystick code. E.g.
    namespace JoystickCtlLib
    public class JoystickControl
    private Device device = null;
    private bool running = true;
    private ArrayList effectList = new ArrayList();
    private string joyState = "";
    public string State { get { return this.joyState; } }
    public bool InitializeInput() { return true; }
    public void PlayEffects() { }
    private void UpdateInputState() { }
    So that your joystick class does not reference or uses any winform or button.
    btw, there is a thing which is more important than that: Your polling the device in the main thread of your application. This will block your main application. Imho this should be a job for a thread like background worker.

  • RE:How to call a constructor or a .class file using jsp?

    try like this:
    <%@page import="folder_name.*%>
    <jsp:useBean id="info" class="folder_name.class_name"
    />
    now use your code:
    <%info.method_name()%>But my GetInfo class reside in this following folder!!!
    GetInfo.class location:
    D:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/webapps/chart/WEB-INF/classes/GetInfo.class
    Configuration.jsp location
    D:/jakarta-tomcat-4.1.24/webapps/chart/Configuration.jsp
    This effectively means that I do not have a folder!!

    Okay, Tomcat doesn't like it when you don't use packages in the WEB-INF/classes folder, don't ask me why, it's just the way it is.
    Rewrite your class so it exists in a package:package myclasses;
    public class GetInfo { ... }Compile it and put it in the WEB-INF/classes directory so you should have:
    WEB-INF/classes/myclasses/GetInfo.class
    Your import statement should be:<%@ page import="myclasses.GetInfo" %>and continue coding as before.
    Let me know how it goes.

  • How to insert the new Servlet Api Class files?

    Hi,
    I need to know how do I add the Servlet Api Class to my java directory
    after i download it from the net? Thanks for your help in advance!

    niceguyme,
    If you downloaded the J2EE 1.3.1 API and installed it to (for example) c:\j2ee131, then what you need to add to your class path is:
    c:\j2ee131\lib\j2ee.jar
    I also add c:\j2ee131\lib\ejb10deployment.jar to the classpath, but it is not necessary.
    there are several ways to add these to your classpath. It depends on what Operating System you are using. On windows 98 type OS, you can edit the autoexec.bat and add these directly to your already existing classpath. Windows NT,2000, and XP: you can add them to the system environment variables classpath. Hopefully you know how to do this on your machine. What I like to do on the windows machine is create a batch file that will start it from within a command prompt. I do this because there are times when I need to compile my code using different versions of the Java api. I am enclosing an example of one for J2se1.4.1 and j2ee1.3.1.
    contents of java141.bat
    @ECHO OFF
    ECHO JDK 1.4.1 and J2EE 1.3.1 are current versions

    set PATH=%PATH%;"C:\Program Files\TextPad 4"
    set PATH=%PATH%;c:\windows\command
    set PATH=%PATH%;%HOLD_PATH%I hope this helps.

    The problem is that your WLS domain is created in a directory whose path contains blank spaces (e.g. "...\Document and Settings\...").
    Please, have a look at this message for a solution: {message:id=9588131}

  • How to call a variable from another class?

    Greetings
    Im designing a program that is called Senior.java, and I want to design its menus, for simplicity in reading the code, I want to write a separate java file for each menu. For example I want a file.java, edit.java etc.
    Since Im not a professional Im having problems in calling the variable bar, that I created in senior.java,
    In Senior.java I have :
    JMenuBar bar = new JMenuBar();
    setJMenuBar( bar );
    In fileMenu.java I want to add file menu to the menu bar bar:
    bar.add( fileMenu );
    When I compile the fileMenu.java I got a cannot resolve symbol message, where symbol is the variable bar.
    Can you please help me, knowing that i'm using SDK1.4.1?

    Sun has recommendations for naming conventions. Class names should start with a capital letter. You should avoid using class names that are the same as classes provided in the SDK. Following these conventions will make it easier for people to help you. For example, you should not use file, nor should you use File. It's better to use MyFile, replacing My with something that makes sense to your application (SeniorFile?).
    Also, check the Formatting Help link when posting for a desciption on how to use the code tags for posting code.
    1. You need to establish references between your classes. One way is to have a constructor that has a JMenuBar argument.
    2. You can not add a file to a JMenuBar because a JMenuBar adds a JMenu. I don't think you want file to extend JMenu. It may be better for file to have a JMenu.
    I haven't tried to compile this code so no guarantees - just trying to show you an approach.
    public class Senior extends JFrame {
       public Senior() {
          JMenuBar bar = new JMenuBar();
          MyFile file = new MyFile(bar);
    //whatever else you need
    public class MyFile {
       public MyFile(JMenuBar mbar) {
          JMenu menu = new JMenu();
          mbar.add(menu);

  • How to call methods defined in another class ? is it possible?

    Hi all,
    I am new to using JNI, was wondering if this is possible and how I might be able to do this. I'm trying to call some set/get functions defined in a class that is not part of the class where I have my native code defined and called...
    Let me explain a bit, I have a class JobElement (singular Job) that stores all the data associated with a Job, such as job name, job id, etc.
    Another class JobsElement (plural Jobs) contains all the Jobs that are currently running.
    The code is set up something like this...
    class JobElement {
         String jobID;
         String jobName;
         public void setJobId(String newJobID) { jobID = newJobID; }
         public void setJobName(String newJobName) { jobName = newJobName; }
    class JobsElement {
         Date timeDateStamp;
         JobElement job;
    class AppRoot {
         JobsElement allJobs = null;
         JobElement _currentJob = null;
         public native getAllJobs();
    }In my native method, getAllJobs(), I essentially want to call the set functions that are defined for JobElement when filling in the information of the Job. (then finally add the JobElement to the JobsElement list)
    In summary, I basically want to know if it's possible to call the equivilent of this java code from the native code??
         _currentJob.setJobName(newJob)
    In the native code I tried to find the setJobID method but got a NoSuchMethodError. (which is what I expected)
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    In your getAllJobs(), the JNI Equiv would be JNIEnv_ClassName_getAllJobs(JNIEnv** anEnv, jobject jAppRootobj)
    Since you are calling the AppRoot object's method, the jobj in the native method call will be jAppRootobj-AppRoot's instance.
    What you can do is
    Get the field id of _currentJob.
    Get the <jobject-value of currentJob> of JobElement i.e. currentJob.
    Then get the method ids of setJobID and setJobName.
    Call these non-static methods on <jobject-value of _currentJob> to set the values.
    I hope I made a try to help you. Please correct me if I am wrong.
