How take a list of POSIX paths and move the related files?

Question

Just wondering if anyone could help me with this, I am probably making a really obvious error.
I have quite a simple applescript set up where by it searches a specific folder for whatever you like (, generates a list of posix paths and then moves them to another folder.
It works great when it finds just the one file but when it finds more than one i get an error.
The part of the script that moves the files looks like this:
if NoOfFiles > 0 then
                    tell application "Finder"
                              set imagestomove to POSIX file founditems as string
                              set folderpath to "Macintosh HD:USERS:Mark:Desktop:Workflow:EDIT:"
  move imagestomove to folderpath
                    end tell
                    (display dialog "Search returned \"" & NoOfFiles & "\" Files and successfully transferred to Edit Folder." giving up after 3)
          else
                    (display dialog "Search for \"" & spotlightquery & "\" produced no results." with icon caution giving up after 3)
          end if
The founditems variable is the variable that contains the list of paths.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks for getting back to me, Just tried this but I'm not sure I fully understand where it should go, should it look like this once applied to my workflow?
          set theItems to {founditems}
          repeat with thisItem in theItems
                    set contents of thisItem to POSIX file thisItem
          end repeat
tell application "Finder"
                              set folderpath to "Macintosh HD:USERS:Mark:Desktop:Workflow:EDIT:"
  move the items to folderpath
                    end tell
Sorry if I am making some obvious mistakes here, still trying to learn!
