HOW The **** DO I PUT MY DVDS ONTO MY IPOD

ok i may not bell super smart but i got like 300 dvds dieing to go onto my ipod how to i put them onto my p.c to put them on my ipod huh

You need to burn your DVD's onto your PC first. To do this you will need a DVD burner. Once you have done this you need to follow the instructions at apple.com to convert them into the correct files to play on your I-Pod

  • What do you think is the best way to get DVDs onto your iPod?

I haven't recieved my video iPod yet, its coming in the mail, but I'd like to be ready when I get it. In your opinion, what is the best way to get DVDs onto your iPod?
I have Windows, so Handbreak doesn't work.
I've tried videora, but its taking ages...
    Thanks!
    *Just noticed you can edit*
I would also like to add that I would perfer that it was free...
Videora is driving me up a wall... It still has 3 hours to convert this thing its been going for 10 min and its still at 0%

Depending on the specs of your computer, time taken to convert DVD's to an iPod-playable format can vary. On my computer (see below), it takes about 10 hours to convert a 2-hour DVD to the iPod format, using Videora.
So, due to the extremely large size of the DVD rip, it'll take a while to convert it, regardless of how fast or slow your system is.

  • Putting A DVD onto my iPod? Will iTunes do it?

Is it possible for me to archive my DVDs into iTunes? If so, will somebody please walk me through it?

I assume you are talking about commercial DVD's that you have purchased. If this is the case, no one on this forums will be able to help you as any discussion of how to rip commercial DVD's is against the "terms of use" of these forums. Sorry.

  • Dvd ripping to put home dvds onto ipod video

ok so i was told to use "decrypter" and so i went to google and typed it in and it came up with a few results
    the first one was:
    DVD Decrypter
so i click on that and this is what it says:
"This software is no longer available, this page is stored for archival puposes only.
On 24th of November, 2005, Macrovision Europe contacted AfterDawn.com, notifying us that they have acquired full rights to the DVD Decrypter software and have changed its licensing terms. Effective immediately, they have decided to withdraw all distribution rights from all third party companies, including AfterDawn.com. Thus, distributing DVD Decrypter is now as illegal as it would be to distribute cracked copies of Windows operating system or pirated copies of games."
ok so first off what does my trying to put dvds on my ipod have to do with pirated movies and games?
    anyways
    the second result was:
    DVD Fab Decrypter
so i click on that and this is what it says:
"This software is no longer available, this page is stored for archival puposes only.
On 1st of January, 2006, a new copyright legislation came into force in Finland that made it illegal to distribute tools that allow circumvention of technical copy protections. The legislation was approved by Finnish parliament and was based on European Union Copyright Directive, a law that each EU member state has to implement to their national legislations"
So basically how the heck do i get dvds on my ipod using decrypter if it's now illegal to use it?

  • Backup the iLife '06 Dual-Layered DVD onto Single-Layered DVD-R

In another closed posting, someone mentioned that they were going to use Toast 7 to create a backup of the Dual-Layered iLife '06 DVD onto a regular Single-Layered DVD-R.
Does anyone know HOW to do this? I have T7 and can't figure out how. I want to accomplish the same task. But it seems to me that if it breaks up the installer between two DVD-R's, then how can you use these 2 DVD's if the original goes bad? Please explaine.
    thx.jas.

When you span the discs using Toast, the program
(Toast) copies a program called Roxio restore. You
would open this program up and let it do its magic
and combine both DVDs into one again!
So then does that mean you'll need twice the hard drive space available?
I mean, it seems to me that this way Toast would need to copy all the contents of the DVD's to your hard drive to combine them. Then once on your hard drive you can run the installer. So instead of needing ~6gb of available space for the normal installation, you'll need ~12gb of available space for the copy AND the installation (then, of course once installed, can trash the installers freeing up that original ~6gb of space).
If this scenerio is true, and one doesn't have ~12gb of available space, then what?
This doesn't seem to me to be a very good option.
    thoughts?
    -jason.

  • Putting MIDI files onto an Ipod.

Is there a way to put MIDI files onto your Ipod?

One option is to load the midi file into iTunes (via "add to Library..." menu), and then "Convert Selection to MP3..."
Then you can treat it (the MP3 copy) the same as any other MP3 tune.
At least this works for me, with with MacOS X v.10.4 and iTunes 7.0.2.

    - Are you also having problems with the Home button?  Maybe it is sticking a little since to take a screen shot you depress the Home and Power/Sleep buttons at the same time.
    - I have not seen your problem discussed here before.
    - I would first try resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next would be to restore the iPod via iTunes.  First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.

It's against the AD forum terms of use to discuss removing copy protection from DVDs.
    +8. Keep within the Law+
+1. No material may be submitted that is intended to promote or commit an illegal act.+
+2. Do not submit software or descriptions of processes that break or otherwise ‘work around’ digital rights management software or hardware. This includes conversations about ‘ripping’ DVDs or working around FairPlay software used on the iTunes Store.+

The studios want you to purchase another copy, just for your ipod.
My advice is to ask your quesiton elsewhere.
