Application Express verion
Application Express 3.0.0.00.20
I am using my own Custom Function authentication which will check against eBusiness login Username and password.
When I intially access I get below URL
http://ortest.eatonsteel.com:8010/pls/htmldb/apps.xxapplication_express_pkg.Launch_103_Application
In this URL I was entering eBusiness User Login details and I press OK Button
Then it is redirecting to below URL
http://ortest.eatonsteel.com:8010/pls/htmldb/f?
and it throws below error
Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
Error ERR-7620 Could not determine workspace for application ().
OK
When I press OK button it is redirecting me to below URL again
http://ortest.eatonsteel.com:8010/pls/htmldb/apps.xxapplication_express_pkg.Launch_103_Application
In this URL again it shows login details. When I enter username and password this time it is logging into the Application correctly. And it redirecting to below URL
http://ortest.eatonsteel.com:8010/pls/htmldb/f?p=103:1:6916299608406263518
Initially when I am trying to access it will not connect.

  • Invoke external application from Oracle Application Form

    Hi,
    I need to invoke external application such as AutoCAD from Oracle Apps Form. Does anyone know how this could be done.
    Form Version : 12.0.11.12010000.2
    Oracle Applications Release R12.
    Thanks,
    Ash

    You can use DDE.App_Begin to open apps such as MS word.
    Try and see if it works for you.
    The other option is you add a menu option (called Launch Autocad) using personalization.
    And then use personalization to launch a web page. This assumes that Autocad app is available as a web service.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to access environment variables from Oracle Forms

    Hi,
    Any idea how to use the Environment variables from Oracle Forms.
    My basic problem is that from Oracle form I am calling Batch file which calls excel file with a macro.
    So i want to check whether the macro was successful or not.
    So in my batch file i will set %errorlevel% which I should be able to read from Oracle Forms.
    I am able to read the registry from oracle forms, so is there anyway to read environment variable as well?
    Thanks!

  • How to access ucm table from external application?

    Hi All.
    Is it possible to access an ucm table (configuration manager-> tables) from of the other external application?
    If yes, how to do it?
    Regards,
    Diovani

    It's just another DB table so JDBC would work fine.
    You can connect to the UCM schema using a free tool like Oracle SQLDeveloper and look at the tables this alos uses a JDBC connection.
    HOWEVER
    I would not really recommend you use this approach without knowing a lot more. Certainly you should not have an external application making changes to the UCM DB. If you just want to read data SQL over JDBC is fine
    BUT
    It is better really to use the existing UCM services to access the data - if there is not a service that does what you want then you create it. This keeps you within the same design pattern of UCM and means you can continue to benefit from security and other rich services that UCM provides over and obove JDBC

  • How to access same ejb from different applications

    Hi
    I have two applications (.ear). Each application has 4 EJBs. These EJBs are same in both applications including their names. JNDI names are also same in each application.
    in detail
    ApplicationA (appA.ear) contains
    web1.war
    ejb1.jar
    ejb2.jar
    ejb3.jar
    ejb4.jar
    and
    ApplicationB (appB.ear) contains
    web2.war
    ejb1.jar
    ejb2.jar
    ejb3.jar
    ejb4.jar
    both web1.war and web2.war has same JNDI references to these EJBs.
    The problem:
    If you access the applicationA, works fine. But if you access applicationB, it throws ClassCast Exception
    After restarting.....
    If you access the applicationB, works fine. But if you access applicationA, it throws ClassCast Exception
    Both the applications are not working same time.
    I suspect that It is because both applications have same ejbs and with same JNDI names.
    Please validate.
    Thanks

    ORA-06512: at "SYS.UTL_HTTP", line 1029
    ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
    But I can link to the web server by going to **webservice address** through my browser.
    Is there any ACL should be open in order to have this capability? I asked my DBA but she asked me I will need to give her username/password/ip in order to open an ACL...
    however there is no username/password required while visiting the web service...
    Any help would be highly appreciated..

So it could be a firewall on my database side that needs to be open in order to visit the hostserver?The "web browser" code (your PL/SQL code using UTL_HTTP) runs on the Oracle database server. It needs the same type of network access that your browser on your PC enjoys. (firewalls opened, proxy authentication if required, etc).
    On 11g. Not on 10g.I saw the example code you post through the link you provided... will those only work on 11g?
    If it can work on 10g, what package or what steps I need to follow in order to have that working on me?The code I've posted will work on both versions. My comment was regards to ACLs. No ACLs existed on 10g. So you only need execute privs on the relevant packages (e.g. UTL_HTTP, etc).
    ACLs were introduced with 11g - so on 11g you also need the DBA to create an ACL for you that will allow UTL_HTTP access to the network.

  • How to call a web Service from Oracle Applications?

    Hi friends,
    I've posted this question on OA Framework forum , but may be it's more appropiated put it here. Sorry for do it again:
    It's about how to call a web service from a Form or a .sql (via Request) in Oracle Applications:
    Could you please explain here the detailed steps (with code example if it's possible) to invoke a webservice from Oracle Applications?.. how did yo do it...?
    I've read differents posts here and the 33097.1 metalink note (by the way, the first recommended link in this note is broken...), but there are lots of theorical concepts and no real examples to see how/from where invoke the WS
    I'll have to call one webservice (I suppose the customer will give me the interface implementation)...but I've never did it with Applications so that's why I ask you for all the detailed steps...
    I work with Forms 6i, Apps 11.5.10.2 and DB 9.2.0.7.
    Thanks a lot.
    Jose.

    Hello Jose,
    I did using java program to call BPEL web services in 11.5.10.
    I pasted below the metalink note for your reference (Note:250964.1)
    The idea is first write a java program to call the webservice (in my case it is calling an BPEL web service, so this may not help directly), test it.
    Then port the java program as specified in the note, so that you could call your web service through concurrent manager scheduler.
    Is this ok?
    Thanks
    Arun.

  • Migration of application from Oracle Express 6.3.4 to Essbase 9

    I got a requirement to migrate an application from Oracle Express to Essbase.Can any one help me if there is any documentation for migration or else do I have to rebuild a new application in Essbase with the same functionality as in Oracle Express.
    Rgrds,
    G.K

    As far as I am aware there is no migration tool to convert to essbase and you will have to build a new application in essbase.
    On a side note this campaign from Oracle back in 1998 amuses me - http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=4VEEAAAAMBAJ&lpg=PA17&ots=Amg-YO3m5X&pg=PA17#v=onepage&q&f=false
    The line "Oracle Express Server slaughtered Arbor Essbase in both load and calculation times and query times" is a classic.
    I wonder if Oracle feel the same way now :)

  • Invoke function from oracle application express

    Hello,
    I am using oracle application express 10g.
    I wrote a simple function.
    I want to call the function from oracle application express.
    *Is it possible to invoke the function from oracle application express?*
    I search the web and find no example for it.
    Can you please write any good links for an example? What have I missed?_
    I am really stuck with it. Any help will be appreciated!
    Thanks a lot,

    Hi,
    You can call function in e.g. computations, validations and process like you call it in SQL sheet.
    Process example to get value to variable from function sending item value as parameter
    DECLARE
      l_my_var varchar2(32700);
    BEGIN
      l_my_var := my_function(:Px_MY_ITEM);
      /* other code */
    END;Regards,

  • How to run two applications from same application server

    hi,
    i am working on oracle application server 10g , is it possible to run 2 applications from one application server by using different url ? but same report server name .
    if i can do so plz tell me how ?
    regards

    hi,
    offcourse,you can do this you.you can deploy n no of applications on a single application server.
    and even you can run all the reports on a single report server
    to the below location.
    $ORACLE_HOME/forms/server
    create a new enviroment file(for eg fd.env) using the default.env as follows and make the following FORM_PATH and REPORTS_PATH changes in the fd.env
    FORMS_PATH=/oraApp/Ora_bi/forms:/oraApp/backup_29_11_2010_0.12/fd/pll:/oraApp/backup_29_11_2010_0.12/fd/forms
    REPORTS_PATH=/oraApp/backup_29_11_2010_0.12/fd/reports
    similarily create another env file (eg appr.env) and make the above changes in it.
    Now make the following changes in formsweb.cfg
    for example:
    [xyz]
    envFile=appr.env(env file name)
    form=xyz.fmx(your start form)
    lookandfeel=oracle
    separateFrame=false
    userid=appraisal/[email protected]
    splashscreen=NO
    logo=NO
    background=NO
    color=automatic
    render=yes
    archive=frmall.jar
    archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar,ofasIcons.jar,icons.jar,OfasPrint.jar,newicons.jar(these jar file are the images files of your applications..needs to be stored in $ORACLE_HOME/forms/java.
    imagebase=codebase
    term=frmpcweb.res
    baseHTML=webutilbase.htm
    baseHTMLjinitiator=webutiljini.htm
    baseHTMLjpi=webutiljpi.htm
    WebUtilArchive=frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar
    [fd]
    envFile=fd.env
    form=fd.fmx
    lookandfeel=oracle
    separateFrame=true
    userid=fdmmfsl/fdmmfsl@mmfdlive
    splashscreen=NO
    logo=NO
    background=NO
    color=automatic
    render=yes
    archive=frmall.jar
    archive_jini=frmall_jinit.jar,frmwebutil.jar,jacob.jar,icons.jar
    imagebase=codebase
    term=frmpcweb.res
    baseHTML=webutilbase.htm
    baseHTMLjinitiator=webutiljini.htm
    This depends on your application which your deploying
    now for about accessing the seperate application then
    use as follows
    1st application
    http://ip address:7778/forms/frmservlet?config=xyz
    2nd application
    http://ip address:7778/forms/frmservlet?config=fd
    you can even deploy 2 war files on one application server...and you can even make these 2 war files to access the same report server
    If you require any other help then do let me know
