I have a class named for example X. in this class i have instanciated some objects of type Y that their number is not fixed. how is it possible to invoke the particular method of these objects at runtime.

I assume you mean without knowing the classes and/or method names at compile time, i.e. via reflection. Use Class.getMethod(String methodName, Class [] argTypes) to get a reference to the method, then do theMethod.invoke(Object thiz, Object [] methodArgs), where thiz is an instance of the class you're calling the method on. Both of those methods throw about a million exception types.

How to access objects in the Child Form from Parent form.

I have a requirement in which I have to first open a Child Form from a Parent Form. Then I want to access objects in the Child Form from Parent form. For example, I want to insert a record into a block present in Child Form by executing statements from a trigger present in Parent Form.
I cannot use object groups since I cannot write code into Child Form to first create object groups into Child Form.
I have tried to achieved it using the following (working of my testcase) :
1) Created two new Forms TESTFORM1.fmb (parent) and TESTFORM2.fmb (child).
2) Created a block named BLK1 manually in TESTFORM1.
3) Created two items in BLK1:
1.PJC1 which is a text item.
2.OPEN which is a push button.
4) Created a new block using data block wizard for a table EMPLOYEE_S1. Created items corresponding to all columns present in EMPLOYEE_S1 table.
5) In WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE trigger of TESTFORM1 set the first navigation block to BLK1. In BLK1 first navigable item is PJC1.
6) In WHEN-NEW-ITEM-INSTANCE of PJC1, code has been written to automatically execute the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger for the "Open" button.
7) In WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger of OPEN item, TESTFORM2 is opened using the following statement :
open_form(‘TESTFORM2',no_activate,no_session,SHARE_LIBRARY_DATA);
Since its NO_ACTIVATE, the code flows without giving handle to TESTFORM2.
8) After invoking OPEN_FORM, a GO_FORM(‘TESTFORM2’) is now called to set the focus to TESTFORM2

After Step 8, I notice that it passes the focus to TESTFORM2, and statements after go_form (in Parent Form trigger) doesnot executes.
I need go_form with no_activate, similar to open_form.

isn't it easier to find a solution without a second form? If you have a second window, then you can navigate and code whatever you want.
If you must use a second form, then you can handle this with WHEN-WINDOW-ACTIVATED and meta-data, which you have to store in global variables... ( I can give you hints if the one-form-solution is no option for you )

You can only access a third-party plug-in's "text frame" if they programmed scripting support into the plugin. You would have to contact the third party to know whether they included scripting support in their plugin.

How to access Captivate Objects From Widget

Using the widget factory, is there a way to access a specific property such as a button or textbox in a captivate movie from an widget?
The button in captviate does have an instance name called button_mc. In my widget, I do have
myRoot = MovieClip(root);
mainMov = MovieClip(myRoot.parent.root);
Also, how can you get the slide properties such as total frames?

In short, pass in the instance name of the button into the getSlideObjectByName() method:
var myButton:Sprite = getSlideObjectByName("button_mc");
Also, WidgetFactory has a property widgetSlide wich gives you access to the slide that the Captivate Author placed the widget on. This is a MovieClip, so if you wanted to read its total frames, you'd write:
widgetSlide.totalFrames;

i have created a business object type object along with attributes and methods. Now inside the method i want to access the attributes. inside the method i am writing:
data a type XXX.
a = me->attribute
this is creating a compilation error.
Now the method is defined as a function module in some package, so can anyone inform me how to access object attributes from the function module ?

thanks for your answer, but this too did not work, "=>" is for static attributes and the attributes i have are not static. Moreover, i tried it but it gave the same error :
the abap error was when i was checking the code is :
the type me=>documenttype is unknown
as you know in SWO1 i created an object and when i create a method you link it to a function module and this is where you have the implementation of the method, so from this method how can i access the attributes on the main object that i created in SWO1

How to access last object in a Collection.

Hello. I'm trying to figure out how to access the last element in a collection. This is how I have it coded now:
Collection coll = someMethodThatReturnsACollectionOfMyTypes( );
Iterator It = coll.iterator( );
MyType myType = null;
while ( It.hasNext( ) )
myType = ( MyType) It.next( );
At this point myType should reference the object I'm interested in, but there has to be an easier way. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Containers either are or aren't expected to support random access, depending on the container. For those containers that do support it, like ArrayList, you can do the following:

does anybody know how to access the content of a mime object of a Web Dynpro component? I added a XML file as mime object to a web dynpro component. Now I want to read the content of this xml file within a method of the component controller. The code would look something like:
DATA: xml_content type xstring.
xml_content = read_mime_object("test_123.xml").
Any ideas?

I am new to Business Objects and would like to know how to access Business Objects Explorer from my local system. I have Business Objects XI 3.1 installed on my system.
I would like to know if BO explorer requires a separate installation package? If yes, how can I acquire it?
If No, what are the steps to integrate the BO Server with the BO explorer?

I want to know how to access the remote objects without db_link.That is i want to access a object in some other server which has different database.

SanjayBala, just so you know that it is possible to create a database link in Oracle to non-Oracle databases in some circumstances. Look up Generic Connectivity aslo know as Heterogenous Services. With 11g Oracle has basically renamed the feature and replaced it with somethinkg named ike DG4ODBC.
I have not spent time studying the details for DB4ODBC but with HS Oracle provided the interface and you had to obtain the necessary ODBC driver on your own. I had Oracle on AIX reading and writing to SQL Server on Windows but the developers chose to write a java program and connect to both via it. On Windows and Linux platforms the necessary ODBC drivers might be available without the requirement to go out and purchase one.
The Oracle Open Gateway product is an advanced version of the above features with drivers for specific non-Oracle databases included like DB2 or Informix.

Can anyone tell me how to access a view object under a nested appmodule in a servlet?
I know that I can use
ApplicationModule app = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef, config);
ViewObject vo = app.findViewObject(viewObjectName);
to get hold of an appmodule and view object.
But in a nested appmodule, for example, I have am0 as root, am1 as child, and voZ within am1, what should I use for this amDef? config? and viewObjectName?

I am using Crystal Reports 2008 v1
Using VB code, I am attempting to modify a Crystal Report before exporting it into a PDF format and then displaying it on the Web.
My problem is that I am unable to access the formula used to dynamically suppress a field.
The following code is working:

I can not find any reference to the actual suppression formula in the SDK help file.
Note, the EnableSuppress can be set to True for False, but if there is a formula for dynamic suppression, the True or False value is overwritten. The results of the formula determine the suppression.
Is there a way to reference this formula. I know that I can put on in using the Crystal Report Designer software, I need to modify this formula using VB code and the SDK.

If you are using the ReportDocument object you do not have access to the Conditional Suppression formula. You can get around it by using a formula field in the report for the supression and then using the FormulaField code to change it at runtime.
If you want to change the supression condition directly at runtime you need to use RAS and the ReportClientDocument.
