How to Access Weblogic's Console Login? ( /console/LoginForm.jsp)

Hi all,
I am working with Weblogic Server 8.1. I would like to take weblogic's current
administration console and make some modifications. Mostly, I would like to access
LoginForm.jsp. Where exactly is this file located? I can find the console.war
file, but the LoginForm.jsp is not there. I can't find the files I need to modify.
Where can I find files to modify the administration console/login?
You help is appreciated, thanks!

Hi KirandeepKaur
I have integrated the AD successfully and I can see all the AD users from my admin console (Weblogic).
We are using IPM (Webcenter content imaging) as our front end system and now i can't log in to the ipm system with previous admin login.
I can log in to other urls without any issue. (Em, console, cs)
what will be the problem ??
And how can i add ipm groups to the AD users ????
Thanks,
Nir

  • WLS 7 Console loginform.jsp Fields

Just curious how the loginform.jsp page for logging into the admin console pre-populates
the username and password fields. With user domains, it seems to remember the
last value for username and password is blank. For the examples domain it pre-fills
in the correct username and password. How do you controls this behavior one way
    or another.
    Thanks
    Jeff

You need to set a target for the pool. Without target
pool service won't start. Also you need to provide
initial and maximum size for the pool.

    Hi,
I need to create a connection pool in WLS 7. Here are the specificsof my
    environment:
    1. RDBMS: Oracle 8i
    2. Driver I want to use: Oracle thin 8.17 (provided with WLS 7)
    3. IP address of machine on which database resides: 192.168.0.5
    4. Port number: 1521
    5. Name of database: MyDB
    6. user: scott
    7. password: tiger
Given the above,I do not know exactly what to fill out in the
    following
    fields
that appear in the Admin Console's connection pool creation form:
    1. Name of connection pool (OK, this one I know!)
    2. URL string (exactly what should it be, given above info?)
    3. Driver Classname (I want to use Oracle thin 8.17, so what shouldI fill
    here?)
    4. Properties (exactly what should I fill here, given above info?)
    5. ACL Name (completely stumped here! Documentation says ACLs havebeen
    replaced
by policies in WLS 7 - so what to fill here?)
Could someone please help me correctly fill out these fields usingthe
    information
I provided in the first paragraph.
BTW, I'm logged into WLS as Administrator.
    Much obliged,

  • How to access solaris management console from web browser??

    Hi,
I am running Sol9 with the latest patches. The console gui freezes every time I try to admin NIS users in my NIS toolbox. It used to work but now it doesn't. I need to access this thing from a web browser if that's possible since there is no console that I can install on my windows laptop that can connect to the server.
Can this be done?? I can't find any info on docs.sun.com on what URL and port to use.
I did find something that says there is a /usr/sadm/bin/smcwebserver but it does not exist on any of my machines.
    Help?? Please???
    Thanks,
    Tom

On my machine, when I point my browser to http://<hostname>:898 (the management server port) I get a nice message telling me that a web version of the Solaris Management Console is not currently available. Running the console tells me I'm running v2.1 which is what came out of the box.
I think the webserver component you refer to only ships with v3.0 and later. You can go to http://wwws.sun.com/software/solaris/sunmanagementcenter/index.html and download a base version for free to check it out.
By the way, I don't use a remote console to manage remote servers. It's too clunky. My solution for running the SMC remotely is to start an XServer on my laptop, telnet to the Sun host, su - root, set DISPLAY=<mylaptop>:0 and then run smc directly from the host. As long as there's no firewall blocking port 6000 between you and your host, you should be OK. This should be straightforward if you've run any graphical X apps before.
However, I don't administer NIS and my laptop is a Mac. Your mileage may vary considerably.

  • How to access Weblogic from Tuxedo?

    Hello,
We have a system where we have an external Tuxedo server that handles registration of a particular service for a customer. We would now like this server to be able to notify an EJB in our Weblogic system of this. How can this be done?

Bidirectional interoperability with Tuxedo is currently not available in the
products off-the-shelf. Jolt is a product that allows Java environment such
as Weblogic to connect to Tuxedo, but not vice versa. Please make sure that
your account representative from BEA is aware of your requirements.

  • How to access a variable from a dynamically included JSP page

I have a jsp (say main.jsp) using the following in its code :
    <jsp:include page="menu.jsp" flush="true" />
I have a variable in menu.jsp which I would like to use in my main.jsp.
How do I get the value of the variable defined in menu.jsp ?
I called this variable in menu.jsp, Public, but this didnot help me use the value of that variable in main.jsp
Any help is highly appreciated.. thnks a lot

I do notice the variable var1 has the value populated - in menu.jsp - (from View -->
Source in the browser) but for some reason not able to use it in main.jspI'm not quite sure of the way your jsps are structured from your code snippet but I think there is something to be aware of here that may be part of your problem, namely the difference between the include directive and the include action.
You are currently using the include action, this treats the included resource as a dynamic object - i.e. a request is sent to that resource and the resulting response is included in your page. So when you think of what there is no java variable actually included - you'll just get the resulting HTML that is generated by menu.jsp
The include directive, as in <%@include file=menu.jsp %>, on the other hand treats the resource as a static object. This means the actual bytes in the included resource are inserted into the including jsp and then the result of that is compiled and processed, effectively you are cutting and pasting the menu.jsp into your calling jsp. In this case the variable would be available to the calling jsp.
However this approach does bring other difficulties that may break your current code, you'll just have to try it and see what happens.
Hope that's relevant to your problem,
    Matt

    Hi Paja,
Please check any weblogic process are running by using.
    ps -ef | grep java
    use " *kill -9 < pid >* "
    Now under %Domain_Home%/ bin folder.
    you will find startWebLogic.sh file.
start this one using following way.
    ./startWebLogic.sh
Once you provide your username and password
Check your last logging like this.
    *<Notice> <Server> <BEA-002613> <Channel "Default" is now listening on 10.17.62.212:7001 for protocols iiop, t3, ldap, s*
in this case 10.17.62.212 is my IP address or listen address and 7001 is my http port.
if you enable SSL list port it will also show you that one.
now try to access console using http://<IP address>:port/console

    admissionRank = document.forms[0].admissionRank.value;
    for(var j = 0; j < document.forms[0].allAdmissionRank.length; j++)

  • Read only access for bpel console in SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.1(weblogic)

    Hi
For SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.1 on weblogic, Is there any way to restrict certain users to some pages in bpel console.. e.g. read only access to bpel console.
I have found articles on web regarding this but they all are for SOA Suite 10.1.3.3 (and 3.4) on Oracle app server. Article provides a hack by using servlet filters.
How to do a similar thing in SOA Suite 10.1.3.5.1 on weblogic ?
Can somebody provide step by step instructions?
    Thanks

    Hi James,
I have already seen this link and several refined versions of it but it wont work for weblogic. For example
There is no j2ee/oc4j_soa/applications/orabpel/console directory (i looked into home directory as well but could not found orabpel/console dir).
So question is where to put filter class and how to make changes in web.xml as this file is not present in j2ee/oc4j_soa/applications/orabpel/console/WEB-INF/
I checked deployments in weblogic admin console and seems BPELConsole is deployed as a module under BPELPM ear.
    Any idea?
    Thanks.

  • Painfully slow access to admin console (how can I fix it?)

    Hi,
I'm using using Sun Java System Web Server Version 7.0U4 B12/02/2008 02:17 running on CentOS (Redhat EL) release 4.4.
The problem is that using the Admin Console (on port 8989) is painfully slow. It takes minutes for each page to load, but they do usually load.
Any ideas on how to fix that?
There are some other things going on that might be related and helpful to know:
I get certificate errors when I access the Admin Console (e..g, IE complains about a mismatched address). I've tried following the directions to install the certificate in IE7 and FF3, but neither has stopped bothering me about the certificate error.
I have the server behind a firewall which allows all outgoing traffic and select incoming ports to the server. The firewall also maps a public IP address to the server's local IP address (e..g, 10.10.10.8).
If I access the Admin Console locally via the LAN address (https://10.10.10.8:8989) it is no longer slow, but I get booted back to the login screen very frequently (e.g, every minute or two of casual browsing through the console), and I still get the certificate error
We haven't given the server a name, but access it by IP address, and the virtual server configuration in the Admin Console is name "localhost.localdomain"
Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! I've tried searching for solutions several times, but haven't succeeded.
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Thanks for the thoughts

sounds more like some network issues. are you running your browser on your centos 4.4 as well ? also, did you try to connect using your IP - some thing like https://<ip>:8989 ?
No, we're not running the browser on centos 4.4. We're runing browsers on laptops, connecting both offsite via public IP address and in the office via both the public IP address and the LAN ip address.
Yes, we're using the ip address as you demonstrated. This machine does not have a domain name attached, so we only connect via ip addresses (mapped public or LAN)

I get certificate errors when I access the Admin Console (e..g, IE complains about a mismatched address). I've tried following the directions to install the certificate in IE7 and FF3, but neither has stopped bothering me about the certificate error.it is not a certificate error. web server 7 admin server uses a self signed certificate . this is necessary step. however, IE reports a warning when it sees a self signed certificate. it wants you to know that it does not understand who sent this certificate. you need to create an exception - saying that you know what you are doing then there won't be any certificate error ..Okay, I'll look for how to do that, but so far I've only found instructions for how to install the certificate in the browsers, and unfortunately, that hasn't made a difference.

sounds like some network misconfiguration - outside the scope of this forum.I cannot rule that out, but other servers/websites seem to work fine with this same setup. Although, only this server is using https

if you want to increase this time out, you could do so by manually editing <install-root>/lib/webapps/admingui/WEB-INF/web.xml and change the value for session-timeout to say 600 (for 10 minutes).. . pl . note that this is not a supported way and you could potentially leave others to use your session if you are careless. but, if you know what you are doing .Thanks I did that. It surprises me that the default timeout appears to be 1 minute.
