How to actually get help with iWorks or how to return it

I have lost over an hour of work today trying to get some assistance from apple. Bought iworks and the serial number doesn't work. They route me to different people who can't seem to help me. I try to return it and the store doesn't help me. Does anyone know how to get the serial number accepted or how to actually get help from this company or should I consider buying the product a loss and warn colleagues within the university? Thank you!

I also bought iWork online and had it delivered to my office. I didn't want to carry the box home, so I stuck the disk/manual in my bag and threw the box away.
Well, was that a mistake! I realised upon installation that is exactly where the only copy of the serial number is printed.
Or so I thought.
I hit on the idea of going back to the Apple email that notified me of the shipping of my product. On there I found the serial number and simply cut and pasted from there to the dialogue box asking for it during install.
For me that worked. No problems with figures or letters being misread.
Don't know if that's any help.

    I would like to know the answer to that one.  I realized this was happening just after upgradeing my iOS to 6.  Then when I looked up my purchase date, I was about 5 days past my one year warranty.  So I'm dead in the water.  Apple will replace the battery, but it will be about $80+.  I took it to the Apple store, and they checked a bunch of stuff, but said that it seemed ok.  I'm debating getting a battery for a more reasonable price off of ebay.  But if it's the iOS thats draining the battery, then I'm not going to be able to help it.  I wish I knew a better way to tell if its the battery, the phone, or the iOS.

    You can try a Samsung network extender ($249) which uses a high speed modem connection, or a signal booster from elsewhere ($250 and up) and that might help.

    I just want to get some help using itunes.  I have downladed music - paid for music, and can't get it into itunes.  When I used th e'support' thing it just wanted to know my Mac serial numbers!!  I don't have a Mac I hace a standard non Mac PC.  So why can't I get help with itunes?  Its taken me half an hour to get into this support thing because every single name I chose was taken!!!!  Its just a nightmare.  I hate it!
    And now it tells me I must 'choose a community' and itunes isn;t listed!  It gets worse!  So I chose any community because this is just a never ending nightmare.  40 minutes ago now I clicked on support for itunes and I ended up here!

    Thanks again.  I bought two albums.  I've no idea what I use to open a zip file.  I just tell it to open and it ususally does but this time Windows media player won't do it!
    I am in the UK and its 23.43 so I have to give up and go to bed now.  As I said I have had no probes with Amazon downloads.  I did email CD baby for help but they just sent the links that you offered earlier.
    I have tried to burn to CD so I can listen that way but though I go through all the motions I can't add the tracks to the burn list by copying and pasting, and I can't 'drag the tracks here' beacuse the tracks aren't showing, just the whole album folder.  It looks like this:

  • How Do I get Help with a Major Customer Service Issue?

    Hello,
    I am a Pro Care member and I took my Macbook Pro in to one on the local stores to ask them about a font issue that I was experiencing. One one the Genius guys came over and asked me a few questions and told me that this wasn't a big deal at all, that they just needed to reinstall my default fonts and that it should take maybe 45 minutes. This was at 4:30pm. Six hours later they came back to be to tell me that they had corrected the font issue but all of my user data and applications were lost! It was if I had a brand new Macbook Pro! This was a Friday evening. I was told to take my laptop to a company called Data Savers the next day to have this company try to restore my data/applications.
    I took my laptop to Data Savers on Saturday and they told me that they would need to keep it for a day. I went back to pick it up on Sunday and I was given an external drive that had "raw restored data" on it. When I had been speaking with the store manager about the situation and he wanted me to provide him with a list of software that was on the machine. So, when I got home from picking up my laptop from Data Savers I started it and all I got was an icon of a circle with a slash through it!! I called the guys at Data Savers and told them about this and they asked to bring the laptop back to them on Monday. I did. After running some diagnostics on the machine I was told that my hard drive was "toast!"
    Needless to say I was both upset and distraught! The store manager told me (in emails that I still have) that he understands how upset that I was about coming in for a font related issue and three days later being told that my laptop was no more that a big paper weight. He said (in these emails) that he would replace my laptop and he would try to get me the latest versions of the software that I had to make up for the business that I had lost in the last few days due to the fact that I didn't have have my machine.
    The store manager then called me back on a Tuesday and said that his superiors had told him that he cold not do what he said that he would do. Obviously, this increased my level of frustration. I was able to speak to this manager, think it may have been some sort of regional manager and after indicating that I had emails of the store manager acknowledging the facts of the matter and stating that he was very sorry for what happen, the regional manager said that she wanted me to send her copies of the emails. I told her that the store manager had copies of everything. She told me that she would get back to me. This was Wednesday afternoon. That same evening the store manager called me to say that "because I was lead to believe that Apple would replace my laptop, they would do so. I was told to be be at the store around noon on the following day (Thursday) and to bring my laptop. I was told that they would replace it.
    When I got to the store on Thursday, the manager came up to me and shook my hand and said that he was sorry for all the trouble and inconvenience. He went on to say that before he could replace my laptop that I would have to sign a document saying that I agree that they were not responsible for anything that had happened in the past six days!!
    The fact is, that isn't true and they know it. I have the email to prove it. I didn't sign the document. the next day because I could no longer afford to lose money and clients I went into another Apple store and purchased in brand new system!
    The fact is that I believe that Apples products are far superior to PC products. I was told by some to never buy from Apple again and tell everyone that I know about my experiences with this particular store. All I want is for Apple to do the right thing! Just replace my Macbook Pro like they said they were going to do. They don't have to provide any software updates, just do the right thing and replace my machine!!
    Can anyone tell me if they have had a similar experience and if so, how it was resolved? Who in the corporate office can I talk to about this to get it resolved? Are there and Apple insiders out there that can help me resolve this situation? I would like to avoid having to take legal action if at all possible.

  • How do I get help with a malfunctioning Safari app on my iPad mini?

    I've been using the app successfully for quite some time. All of the sudden today, it started spontaneously closing. There is no warning or otherwise abnormal behavior. It simply shuts off. My device home screen appears, I re-open the app and it continues working (but not from the exact same location as before it quit) for a minute or two, then repeats. Is anybody else having issues, know what the problem is, or know who I could contact to get it fixed? The seems to be limited support for my query. I really don't know what to do. It's unusable.

    I have reset all settings myself and it is a PITA to enter all of the settings again back to where you had them so I know how you feel.
    Issues that crop up in Safari that cant be fixed by clearing the cache and/or resetting all settings only leave a couple of other possibilities that I can think of.  An app conflict, or something corrupt in the Safari software now.
    I'm guessing that you know how to close apps in the recents tray and you could try that now, unless you have already attempted that. You could try restoring form a recent backup - if you have a very recent backup. You said that this problem just started today, so there could be something that went corrupt on the iPad today that's causing the problem. Or you could try backing up, restore to factory settings and then restore from the backup.
    If none of that works, then a trip to an Apple Store would be your next step. An appointment at an Apple Store for software issues is not necessarliy a paid visit. As far as I know, the overwhemling majority of the time there is no charge for their help at all.

    Downloaded ios8 on my trusty I Pad 2, 64G, and now it's a mess.  I know this is happening to a multitude of people. My favorite app stopped functioning, Facebook is super slow and crashes, internet is slow, Words with Friends is slow and crashes, the screen shifts and it's hard to scroll. Typing is slow.  It's even difficult to close programs.  Apple is by all reports aware but in denial.  What's the chances of a fix for this? Especially on the older products.  I've read that IPad 2 can support the upgrade, but performance is horrendous.  If i have to scrap my old, used-to-be trusty I Pad, it won't be for another Apple product Just on principle.  How can I join a group that will make them sit up and take notice? 

    I updated my iPad 2 64GB  And have had no issues. Its dare I say it faster than iOS 7 was. Everything works except one Game which also does not work on my iPhone, thus I take that to mean its an issue with the game rather than the update. Does that automatically mean the update is flawless?  That the installation can go down with out a hitch in all scenarios? Of course not.
    Millions of people have updated, a small minority is having issues this is always the case with Os updates on any platform. Nothing in this world is perfect.
    There will always be bugs and glitches that cannot be anticipated. The fact it works fine on the majority of the devices that have been updated, and only a small percentage is having issues means its a situational based on hardware or other specific cause with the devices havingthe  issues, rather than some inherent flaw with the update. In which case there is nothing Apple can really fix on their update. Also of note is that issues are varied, from slowness to crashing, to
    Apps simply not working. Its unlikely the update package itself would cause all these different issues in one device, but at the same time cause nothing on an identical device.  So you see, its not so simple to identify the issue if in fact there is one that can actually be fixed.
    To me it sounds like the installation process experienced an issue at the time it was being executed locally on the device which means again we are back to some internal cause with the specific device which can be different between devices.

  • How do you get help with an iWeb problem?

    I've got a problem with iWeb that because I have been unable to fix and no one on the Forum has been able to address I'm stuck. The only advice that I rec'd was that it might be related to MobileMe. Regardless I don't have access to my website on my computer and can't perform any edits on the Welcome page (all other pages seem ok).
    So is there anyone at Apple that I can call (a help line) with which to discuss my problem? OR do I have any other alternatives? If not, I really don't know what I can do to resolve this issue. Any help or input would be greatly appreciated.

    OK, so my problem is that although I've used iWeb for a personal website for over 6 months w/o problems, last week I went to edit the site and when I opened iWeb I was unable to "view" to edit my Welcome page (basically the page is for lack of a better term - blank). As I was trying to troubleshoot on my own, I tried to add new content to the page, but could not add anything...it's like the page does not exist. However, all the other pages for my site are "ok" - i.e., they are viewable on my laptop and I can edit them. One more thing, the site appears ok on the web....the only problems are local, i.e., when I open iWeb on my laptop and try to edit the website locally. I am hopeful that my problem is clear.

    I am posting this here as my fiancé is pulling her hair out over Verizon's customer service (or lack of it).
    I'm from the UK, my fiancé came to visit me from Florida. Originally for 3 weeks then decided to stay for 6 months. I advised her to contact her cable and phone providers and let them know she was out of the country. She did. Verizon suspended her service and that was that.
    Until we got back...
    We have a bill for 300 dollars. For service we haven't used. She called Verizon and was informed her service had only been suspended for 3 months. Something she was absolutely not told when she made the call or something we asked for.
    The operator who took her call said she could only go by what the notes on the call said. Would not take any evidence from us (I can prove she was out of the country with assorted paperwork).
    They also claimed there had been calls made on the phone. Which is impossible as the handset was off and out of battery the entire time she was with me. The only thing I can think of is she has Google voice attached to that number and as soon as the number reactivated it started forwarding calls to her Google voice.
    Again this didn't occur to us as we were told her phone was deactivated.
    So I have one very cross fiancé. Who's fed up and doesn't want to call again as shes frustrated and upset. I am completely furious. I will be looking for a phone myself over here and I have been completely put off of Verizon.
    I have always praised US customer service as in the UK we don't do it very well. This however is really poor.
    If anyone can offer some advice I would really appreciate it.
