How to add increment number to file name properly
Hi, all:
I have a simple question. As shown in the attached code, I need to add an increment number to file name and save the file. The problem is, if you run the code and put something like ".dat" in the extension name, you will see a blank space between the number and the dot in the file name. What should I do to eliminate the blank space? I can't specify the format of the file name since the file name would vary from case to case.
Thanks a lot for any suggestion and correction in advance.

Hi,
Please take a look to the attached VI. I hope that I understood what you really want.
I've replaced the Vi: Format into string with Number to Decimal String plus a Concatenate String.
Now, this is working for me, I don't get a space anymore. If something is wrong, please let me know.

Paul

ITunes appends incrementing number to file name
Hi,
I noticed that with some of my mp3 files iTunes 6 keeps on creating copies of them, appends an incrementing number to the file name and adds the new file to my iTunes library, which means I end up with multiple copies of the same song in my library.
So if I have got a file called "03 All I Need.mp3" iTunes will create
03 All I Need 1.mp3
03 All I Need 2.mp3
03 All I Need 3.mp3
etc...
Perhaps it could be related to the fact that I have got two computers accessing the same mp3 folder via a network?
I really can't explain to myself why iTunes would be doing this, but it is terribly annoying, as I end up with the same song over and over again in my iTunes library.
Does anybody know how I can prevent iTunes from doing that?
Thanks heaps!Hi,

Hi
I am working on idoc - file scenario. I need to get the idoc number as file name in the receiver side? How could it be done ?Hi,
You need to use Dynamic Configuration to set the file name dynamically in your mapping. In your receiver Communication Channel, on the Advanced tab, mark the Use Adapter-Specific Message Attributes and File Name checkboxes. Please refer to this help if you need further information about it:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/44/6830e67f2a6d12e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
Then create a user-defined function in your graphical message mapping, with the following code:
DynamicConfiguration conf = (DynamicConfiguration) container.getTransformationParameters().get(StreamTransformationConstants.DYNAMIC_CONFIGURATION);
DynamicConfigurationKey key = DynamicConfigurationKey.create("http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/File","FileName");
String SourceFileName = a;
return SourceFileName;
The "a" here is the importing parameter of the user-defined function. Map IDoc number to this function to have the parameter set.
Hope this solves your problem,

Limit on the number of file names retrieved using FM 'RZL_READ_DIR_LOCAL'
Hi All,
I am using FM 'RZL_READ_DIR_LOCAL' , to retrieve file names from a specified directory.
When executed, i am getting 10,000 records(file names) only against lakhs of files present in the directory.
I would like to know if there is any limitation on the number of file names retrieved using that FM and how to over come it.
Also please let me know if the FM 'EPS2_GET_DIRECTORY_LISTING' also has any such limitations.
Thanks in advance,
Sreeni VallemI did not know about this limitation of number of files returned. You can give a try to the external command way of doing it in your development system. Well, creating 10001 files in development is a boring job . You can write a sample program as Rob has mentioned in this thread and copy files to a specific directory ABAP: Copy files from one R3 directory to another. This doesn't disturb the existing program written.
Mean while let's wait for expert's reply.

2) It would be equally helpful if there was something that would take the name of the picture file and spotlight comment, copy and paste it to a movie file's comments with the same name but obviously has different extention. For an example
In a Pictures folder

In a Movie Folder
Name: Dark Knight, The.m4v Comment: <- paste

This Bash script will do it.
Edit "PicDir" and "MovDir" to the location of your Folders
(Note: The comment is written to the m4v file using xattr, so the Spotlight comment field appears blank in Finder, but the comment metadata is still indexed by Spotlight (If you add a Spotlight comment from Finder, it is stored both as an extended attribute and in a .DS_Store file)

How to stop adding " copy" to file names?
First off, I don't mind the save as a copy feature. If I have a psd file with layers and smart objects and such, and I Save As > JPG, I don't want the jpg open, I want the psd open. I like how PS does that behavior, but I don't like how that jpg gets " copy" added to it's file name. Yes it's easy to remove, but I'm using a batch action on over 300 pictures, I don't feel like renaming 300 jpg's. Yes it's supposed to be a safety net, but I basically never work from jpg's as original's, and if for some reason I do, I set them as read only and copy the files off to a safe location, so I don't need it.
I know it's possible because my old school's computers with photoshop CS5 never saved jpg's with copy in the file name. So, how do I stop PS CS5 from adding copy to my file names? Because I need photoshop to not add copy to my file names on my work computer (and it's my old school, can't use their computers or ask someone why it's like that).ikumajap's response made me realize the reason the "save as copy" is greyed out is because it has layers. So all you have to do is add a "flatten image" action first, then a new "save as jpg" that does not include the copy. I tried adding flatten to my old action but it still added "copy" so you do have to make a new save action. This, of course, will not alter your original file as long as you don't add a plain old save in there first.

How to get the number of files currently open?
hi,
does any one know how to get the number of files currently open in windows OS?
e.g. lets say .txt files...
any comment will be really appreciated.
thanksAssuming that you don't want to actually do this from within Java code (which would obviously require native code), here's a utility that will give you a list of which file handles are opened by which processes (on Windows):

Sharepoint Workflow : how to get document full path + file name into variable?
Hi,
Anybody knows how to get document full path + file name into a variable in Sharepoint 2010 workflow?
Example http://sp1:80/InvoiceQueue/Shared Documents/123.pdf
I am using List Workflow which links to a document library.Hi SAMSUNG,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to get the full path of a document in a list workflow.
You can set the variable to the Enconded Absolute URL of the document. The screenshot is my testing. In my testing (in the red area), when the title of a document was equal to the tile of the current item, set a variable to the Enconded Absolute URL of the
document. I used ‘Log to history list’ to check the value of the variable in Workflow History .
I hope this helps.
Thanks,
Wendy

How to show rating dots and file name underneath thumbnail in Bridge CS4 preview workspace?
How to show rating dots and file name underneath thumbnail in Bridge CS4 preview workspace?
Thank you! That was it. The option to change it is not available in preferences (though I believe it was in early CS versions). It's hidden in a dropdown menu associated with an icon at the top. It sure wasn't easy to find, and I probably would not have done so without your lead. Thanks again!

How to retain numerical order (Of file names) when combining files in Acrobat (9) Standard, please see the attached screenshot for a clearer explanation.
I understand that if we prefix all files with leading zero's this will probably resolve the issue but I just wondered if anyone new the answer. The ironic situation is that version 6 has no problem.
I have spent over an hour with techincal support who were unable to provide me with an answerIt is not clear how you are trying to do the order. Have you tried to select a set of files and then use the arrow buttons to move them in the list? If you select the heading, that will typically reorder the files by that heading and undo everything you had done before.
You should be able to select groups of files and move them up and down in the list. All of those options appear on your view, so what is the real question? -
Hi all,
Can any one tell how to get the number of files(.EPS) count inside a folder when the folder path is specified in VC++ 6.0?
Thanks in Advance.
Regards
myriazI'm a little confused by the question, but it sounds like you're asking how to count the number of files with a particular extension in a given directory? That's not really an AI SDK question, but it's a fairly easy one to find if you google it. If you're trying to use Illustrator to do it, AI doesn't have a general purpose file API. It has a few functions to do some things that Illustrator needs, but I don't think enumerating directories is one of them.
