How to add Navigation Level to the Portal?

Hi All,
How to add Navigation Level to the Portal?
for example:
1st Level is the Role
2nd Level is Worksets/Folders
I want that the 3rd Level will contain more Worksets/Folders and will be under the 2nd level and not in the "Detailed Navigation".
I tried to change the "Number of display levels" in the framework page but it didn't help.

in fact, almost one year ago we did something similar on a project basis, but as already stated here, this was done by modification. What we did was providing a dropdown box within the masthead, containing the first level, and the second and third level now have been displayed where normally the first and second level are. That was a ten days solutions, some very fine granulated work. But nice
Anyhow, nowadays this can be more easy using the LightFrameworkPage (if that's OK for your purpose) and the Navigation Tag Library, see http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/42/f35146a7203255e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm for details.

The documentation says that
The Portal Favorites iView contains a freely definable list of links for direct access to items that you use regularly. This can include the following:
●     Portal pages and iViews that run as full-page applications
●     Documents, folders, and other items in KM repositories
●     External items, such as Internet pages
So we can't do it for Roles.

How to keep navigation with in the portal when accessing third party applic

I am trying to integrate Peoplesoft applications into portal.I am able to access the PS applications,but when i try to navigate through the Peoplesoft pages,page is not opening in Content area.Peoplesoft page is opening in the browser rather than in the content area.
As for my concren in navigation at oneplace its leaving the portal environment to other Ps serevers environment.As PS link is pointing to PS server.
How to overcome this problem.I want to open all peoplesoft pages within the portal content area.

How to add navigation cuepoints to the mediaplayer and seek to them? (OSMF)

oHi, I'm working in a livestreaming player and I'm having some problems doing a seek to the 1st second, I've been reading something about it and I found that the seek action works based on keyframes.
I found that keyframes can be add using cuepoints (NAVIGATION cuepoints).
So I tried to do it like this:

Okay, there is some things about the CuePoint Sample that don't quite make sense to me.
When I try to add markers to the dynamicTimelineMetadata, I keep getting "null" when I trace the dynamicTimelineMetadata.
For this event:
MediaElementEvent.METADATA_ADD
Is that triggered when a marker is added to the dynamicTimeLineMetaData?
Because if the dynamicTimelineMetadata is returning null,
then how can I add a marker to it?

How to add Friendly URLs in Weblogic Portal?

Hi,
We are developing a portal using Weblogic 10gR3. Right now the URL's that are getting formed are very long which includes the nfpb, nfls, pagelabel e.t.c. The requirement is to have a very user friendly url something like http://www.x.com/portal/<<pageLabel>>
The Weblogic documentation mentions something about URL compression, however unable to apply it for dynamic URL's. We have URL's which are formed on the fly from the WLP Content Repository
Is there some kind of servlet / filter provided within WLP. I read somewhere about an URLTransformationServlet. But there was no documentation on its usage. Can some one share a sample code snippet with me. That would be really really helpful, as we are having a slight time crunch here.
Any kind of help on this will be deeply appreciated. Thanks

While try to incorporate the URL navigation changes at
our development environment we are getting exception Unable to render /framework/skeletons/bharti_skeleton/singlelevelmenu.jsp .
I have also checked feasibility for the URL navigation changes provided and will not work for left menu
and footer URL because while rendering these URL we are not using single level menu jsp or multilevel menu jsp.
Please check with these comments and update ASAP.

In the new SR, please elaborate what you mean by the Rich Text support, whats your proposed use case, whats working and what is not.

WLProxy configuration falls under the weblogic server product hence you will have to raise an SR with that product to get any suggestions.
Before that I would suggest you play around with the parameter I have suggested and see how it is impacting the url and then if there is any specific area you are stuck on check with the WLS team.
Like I mentioned earlier, I do not know if this will completely meet your business requirement, but something you can look into.

URLCompression servlet is the only option that weblogic portal provides out of the box to compress the URL of WLP. I understand this does not suite your requirement.
The other option I can think of that can possibly help you achieve this is to configure any weblogic proxy plugin that you might be making use of, see the document

Customising the navigation structure in the portal

Please help me in solving this issue
Requirement:Instead of two level navigation in the top level navigation and the sub levels in the detailed navigation requirement is all the levels should be in the toplevel navigation like the one in www.ibm.com
for example when we mouse over system administration it should show all the things under that like Transport,Monitoring etc in the table format and when i mouse over Transport it should show all the things under that in another table and so on.

My doubt is can we implement this requirement because there are two different iviews DetailednavigationIView and TopNavigationIView.can we combine these two iviews and create a single navigation structure.

I had seen ur other thread. In that thread u had specified that u had made the changes. does it work?
Anyway to make changes to the top level navigation (in case of levels)
Go to Portal Users --> Standard Portal Users in the portal catalog.
Open the Default FrameWork chose Properties
Set the "Number of Display Levels " according to u r requirement.
To change the detailed navigation level
Select the "Desktop InnerPage" select the iview "Detailed Navigation" --> Properties
Change the "Start at Level" value property to u r required value.
May this will solve u r problem in a simple way.
if u want to it like what u specifie in the thread u need to go through the Navigation API and develop it u r self.

How to add more comments in the Nomination Header notes tab
In the nomination screen, there are the tabs for header and item notes.
Within each of those tabs, there are categories for the type ofcomments. Currently in the nomination maintenance screen header notes
there are onlythree comment categories are available 1) General comments 2) Carriercoment 3) Shipper Comment and We would like add more comments in this
section. In the configuration we couldn't find a place where we can add
more customer specific comments. Can we add comments in the header
notes tab and if so where can we add the additional comments ?

Hello Giri,
You could try the following to create new text types for nomination header.
1) Execute transaction SM31
2) The view here is V_TTXIDI
3) Click on maintain .
4) Create new entries .
5) Since you want to add new more comments in the nomination header enter the text object as OIJRCODE_H
6) Enter a text ID starting with Z
7) Enter a description and save the new entry.
In case you want to add new comments at the item level use the text object as OIJRCODE_I.
When you restart the transaction O4NM again you will see the new entry added.
This will solve the issue.

new page will create in sap scripts using new page command.
you have to set condition like after some number of records displayed in page new page has to be trigger.
ex:YOU HAVE SO MANY RECORDS FOR PRINTING BUT YOU WANT TO DISPLAY 100 RECORDS IN FIRST PAGE REMAINING IN SECOND PAGE LIKE THAT.
Here you can use NEW PAGE COMMAND .
IT IS OPPOSITE PURPOSE OF PROTECT AND ENDPOTECT.

How to add Navigation attributes values via ABAP while creation of CVC

Hi,
I have a requirement like, I have to add navigational attributes to the cvc record while CVC creation ( /sapapo/mc62 transaction).
There were two scenarios: 1. Usually when they load master data from BW side those navigation attributes available and when we do CVC creation it's automatically picks those values. If NOT then i have to bring Market segment and Business unit navigational attributes values from ECC via RFC function module by passing MPN and End customer division as a input.
I am facing problem when BW side if business unit and Market segment were blank.
Do we have any Function modules available to add navigational attributes data and should update corresponding master data tables.
Please help me step by step process on this.

Are you intending this as a commercial solution or a work around?
To take an existing equivalent, one would build a view in the database tailored for each grid in an Oracle Forms application. Or a separate query layered over tables for each form/grid in a Delphi or Access application? Even if it is ninety nine percent the same over half a dozen forms/grids?
And now you've added a whole slew of "slightly different" rowSetInfos to maintain.
So if you wanted to add a column that needs to appear everywhere... you've just increased the workload multi-fold?
That would be a management nightmare, wouldn't it? Not to mention yet more performance cost and a slower system?
Hmmmm..... I'm not sure I like where this is headed... someone needs to do some convincing...

in spro in Define customer-specific search control -> mark fields with X.
and enhance html template CRM_CIC_SEARCH_DISPLAY. -> tcode smw0, look for package CRM_CIC_COMPONENTS for html CRM_CIC_SEARCH_DISPLAY. export it from SAP, edit, and import.
you will need to enhance function module used for searching - you will find him in spro in Search Strategies.

If I understood you correctly, you are just trying to add new fields to the invoice form and then use them in your form. you should first go and add the field to your tables, which you would do by going to Tool --> User Defined Fields --> Manage User Fields. There are different documents or categories given. For ex. for invoices, Sales Orders you would add your field under the Marketing Documents. If you want the field to be just one per invoice, add it to the Title, otherwise if you want a field per invoice or Sales Order line, add it to the Rows section. Once you have done that then you can just create a edit box or drop down to represent the field and set the datasource for that to your field. If you want example code to do that, let me know.
