  • How to add a vertical scrollbar?

    Been searching FOREVER now!
    How do I make a Tabbed panel with a fixed size, and then content is scrollable in vertical direction?
    like this site: Sigurd Rakel | Bilder
    Or inside a composition for that matter?

    There is a way of doing this using an iFrame. It’s not particularly elegant but it does work. The only caveat is you wouldn't be able to have the lightbox effect shown in the site you referenced, as it would appear within the panel's frame, rather than on the main page.
    Create your tabbed panel on the page. Make a note of the content area’s width.
    Now you need to create a new page for the content you want to display in the tab. I’ve created a Master page for this, as it will let you quickly create new content at with the correct settings.
    Open the Master's Page Properties. Set the page width to the width of the panel content area. Remove all padding and margins.
    Open the new master. Remove the header and footer padding.
    Go back to the Plan view. Create a new page based on the new master page. Also remember to remove the page from the menus!
    Add your content so it fits the width of the page.
    Go back to the page with the tabbed panel. Select Insert HTML from the Object Menu. Add this line of code (substituting the page name and panel dimensions for your own): <iframe src="panel-text.html" width="480" height="510" frameBorder=0 />.
    Position and resize the HTML frame inside the panel. The content won’t show in the frame as it’s referencing a page that’s yet to be rendered. You might also want to adjust the panel size to suit.
    Select Preview Site in Browser from the File Menu. All being well, you should see the content inside the panel, which will scroll independently.
    I hope this helps.

  • How do you add a Vertical scrollbar to a JTextArea?

    How do you add a Vertical scrollbar to a JTextArea? This is what I've tried so far but it hasn't worked. I got that off of someone asking a similiar question here.
    aTextArea = new JTextArea(10, 40);
             JScrollPane scrollPane = new JScrollPane(aTextArea);
             aTextArea.setText( " " );

    JScrollPane(component)
    this constructor will only show the scrollbar (vertical and/or horizontal) as needed..so, if the scrollpane viewport is larger than the component, then it will not show the scrollbar.
    you can force the scrollbar to alway show
    setHorizontalScrollBarPolicy(int policy)
    setVerticalScrollBarPolicy(int policy)

  • How to add vertical scrollbar to a tree region

    Hi,
    I have a page containing two regions. The first is a tree region displayed on the left hand side of the page. The second is form region displayed to the right of the tree, showing details relating to the selected node from the tree.
    How can I add a vertical scrollbar to the tree, so that I can I browse all nodes in the tree without affecting the position of the form? Currently, if my tree extends beyond the height of the page I have to use the page vertical scrollbar to view the bottom of the tree. This obviously means that the form is no longer in view.
    Thanks
    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,
    You can't add a scrollbar directly to the region's contents, but you can wrap the contents within a DIV tag.
    In the Region Header add in:
    &lt;DIV style="height:500px; overflow:auto"&gt;
    In the Region Footer add in:
    &lt;/DIV&gt;
    Obviously, change the height value to suit your needs.
    Regards
    Andy

  • How to add scrollbar to jpopup menu

    Hi everyone,
    Do u know how to add a scrollbar to jpopup menu ?

    Menus don't scroll, and shouldn't scroll. Given that, you shouldn't try and use JPopupMenu at all... rather, create your own component that implements the look and behavior you want. It will be far easier and less frustrating.
    Either that... or you should re-think what functionality you are trying to provide, and how you are trying to implement it. A scrolling menu just seems like a counterintuitive wacky UI design to me.

  • How to add scroll bar to JDesktopPane?

    Hi All,
         After download the "InternalFrameDemo.java" from the swing tutorial, I want to add scrollbars to JDesktopPane so that whenever a internal frame moves off the desktop view port, a scrollbar will display. I have tried many ways to implement this but no success.
    Do you know how to add scrollbars to JDesktopPane?
    Thanks
    Anson

    You can't get there from here! Assuming that wou want is to make the desktop scrollable that is.
    The trick to make somthing scrollable is to make JScrollPane CONTAIN the component to be scrolled. If you could ask the desktop to return the component it contains, you might have a chance but no luck, the desktop pane actually inherits a layered pane which is most likey is what you would like JScrollPane to contain.
    Now here's another angle to this story... the desktop is complex enough without scrollbars, why would you want to complicate things by adding a scroll bar anyway? Say one of its window is maximized and has a scrollbar of its own AND the desktop has one.... that makes TWO scroll bars side by side. Talk about confusing.
    I believe the desktop was designed so scroll bars can't be added for a very good reason: good UI practises.

  • How to add the new line in reciever FCC

    Hi All,
    I have my reciever FCC with me, but I just need to add one more additional line or you can say seprate the first line.
    So how to add extra or new line in the current structure?
    Please let me know if there is any parameter for this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Rahul Kulkarni

    Hi Rahul,
    You can achieve this by endseperatot "nl"
    If record set structure is * means fine, you just add second line field names by using end separator "nl".
    If you added first line names in recordsetstructure add second line names as well and remaining same use end separator.
    Example (below file is having two lines):
    <NameA>
    name,address,id
    empid,sal,region
    <NameA/>
    your FCC will be (according to your requirement the below 3 fileds will be use full).
    Recordsetstructure  - *
    NameA.fieldvalues - name,address,id
    NameA.endseperator - nl
    NameA.fieldvalues - empid,sal,region
    Thanks & Regards,

  • How to add contents of an arrayList to a JList

    Hi,
    I am trying to figure out how to add the contents of an arraylist to a Jlist.
    Basically I have 3 classes which are as follow:
    1. AuctionItems(String name, int bid) which represents an item in auction
    2. AuctionItemsFactory which creates AuctionItems and adds them to an arraylist called stock
    3. AuctionBidsGui1 which is the interface where the user can see the items in the auction and select them from a JList.
    But I dont know how to read the contents of the stock(arraylist) into the JList which is in AuctionBidsGui1. Below are the 3 classes mentioned above
    public class AuctionItems {
         String name;
         int bid;
         public AuctionItems(){
              name = null;
              bid = 0;
         public AuctionItems(String name, int bid){
              this.name = name;
              this.bid = bid;
         public String getName(){
              return name;
         public int getBid() {
              return bid;
    public class AuctionItemsFactory {
         private ArrayList<AuctionItems> stock;
         int size;
         public AuctionItemsFactory() {
              stock = new ArrayList<AuctionItems>();
         public void addItems(AuctionItems item) {
              stock.add(item);
    //removes last element of the arrayList
         public void removeItems() {
              int n = stock.size() - 1;
              stock.remove(n);
         public void printNumOfItems() {
              int n = stock.size();
              System.out.println(n);
         public int numberOfItems(){
              return stock.size();
         public void printItems(){
              for (AuctionItems item : stock) System.out.println(item);
    and this one is a small part of the AuctionBidsGui1 class which represents the JList where the list of the items will go.
    public void addItemListWidgets() {
              itemsList = new JList();
              itemsList.setSelectionMode(ListSelectionModel.MULTIPLE_INTERVAL_SELECTION);
              itemsList.setLayoutOrientation(JList.VERTICAL);
              itemsList.setVisibleRowCount(10);
              itemsList.setSelectedIndex(0);
              JScrollPane itemsListScroller = new JScrollPane(itemsList); // put the list in the scroller
              itemsListScroller.setVerticalScrollBarPolicy(ScrollPaneConstants.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_ALWAYS);
              itemsListScroller.setHorizontalScrollBarPolicy(ScrollPaneConstants.HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_NEVER);
              itemsListPanel.add(itemsListScroller);
         }

    I know that I have to use the toArray() but i dont know what type of method to use for this because i will need to implement a method in my AuctionItemsFactory class which will copy the contents of the arraylist into an array so then i can call this methos from my AuctionBidGui1 class.
    I would appreciate if you could give me a bit more hints.

  • How to add a scroll bar within a view window ?I want to display x and y axis outside the scoll window and keep those axis static and move the graph within scroll area

    how to add a scroll bar within a view window ?I want to display x and y axis outside the scoll window and keep those axis static and move the graph within scroll area
    ananya

    Hey Ananya,
    I believe what you want to do is possible, but it will not be
    easy.  If you want to add a scroll bar that will scroll the graph
    back and forth but keep the axis set, you would want to add a
    horizontal or vertical scrollbar.  Then you would create an event
    handler for the scroll event.  You would have to manually plot
    different data within this scroll event.  Unfortunately, there is
    not really a built in way to do this with the Measurement Studio plot
    control.
