How to alow non-default domain users to set share folders.

From Messanger Express, users who are in non-default domains cannot set any share folders, and only get an error message "You do not have permission for setting permission". However, Users in default domain can do it without any problem in same server[iMs5.2].
Is there any specific permission to allow non-default domain users to do it ?
If yes, how to give this permission to these users ?
Thanks & regards,
Takuto

In deed it is fix in the GA.Another way to set the alias table is to do it in the Admin client. If you add a connexion to a user there is a new 6.5 button "set alias" that allow you to set the default alias table for this specific user. But, it does not exit on a user group level.

However, we can consider to use Software Installation Group Policy or WSUS to centrally update these software.

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 non-default domain admin limitations

Enivronment: Windows Server 2012 R2Problem: members of Domain Admins group are restricted in ways the default domain admin account is not. This is with or without UAC disabled; there are even more prompts with UAC enabled. Here are two examples:Attempt to copy to Public Desktop. Built-in domain admin or local admin account can do so without restriction; any other member of Domain Admins group is prompted for administrator permission (although clicking Continue proceeds without actually requiring further authentication/permission)Right-click -> Properties of hard drive in Explorer is missing Shadow Copies tab for non-default Domain Admin. Yes, I can simply right-click the drive and go to Configure Shadow Copies, so this one is not so important. But it is an inconsistency that means I have to access things just a bit differently...

  • How could I allow selected Domain users or Computers to install programs and not be asked for Admin credentials.

We have a handfull of Laptops in the company. They are all joined to our
Domain. The default domain policy keeps these non-adminstrators from installing
software without prodiving the administrator credentials for the domain. We have a
few users that we would let install programs but would prefer not to make administrators.
I have been all over the place searching for solutions. Is there an actual field to allow this
in Group Policy? All the suggestions I have seen have dead-ended on me....Any thoughts.
Server is Windows 2003R2 and clients are all WIndows 7 Pro. Again, at this point I would like
to be able to allow specified computers this right.

Based on what I have found Power Users group has no added user rights in Windows 7:
    From http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc771990.aspx:
By default, members of this group have no more user rights or permissions than a standard user account. The Power Users group in previous versions of Windows was designed to give users specific administrator rights and permissions to perform common system
tasks. In this version of Windows, standard user accounts inherently have the ability to perform most common configuration tasks, such as changing time zones. For legacy applications that require the same Power User rights and permissions that were present
in previous versions of Windows, administrators can apply a security template that enables the Power Users group to assume the same rights and permissions that were present in previous versions of Windows.
So despite the caution it does not  seem like an option. As for Publishing Software, if the user needs to install something "on the fly" that will not work. I guess i could just add to the administrator group as needed in order to install programs then
remove. Now the user is remote operationg on cached credentials. Would then not need to come to the domain and log in locally in order to update their security tokens.

  • How to avoid applying Default domain policy?

Hello! Hope to get some ideas on the following:
I have one PC that I DO NOT want to apply default domain policy to. I have created a separate OU in AD with one security group, that contains only that one PC.
I made sure that pc is a member of only that group and not domain computers or any other groups.
I have created a separate GPO for this PC and linked in to the domain.
I am seeing in the gpresult /r  that both the new  GPO is applied to the workstation and the default domain gp as well.
Default domain policy is designed to be applied to all authenticated users.
I have create a separate user for that workstation that is not a member  of authenticated users. It is only a member of domain users.
Ultimately I want default domain policy to be filtered out and the gpo specific to this pc to be applied.
    Any ideas?

    > Default domain policy is designed to be applied to all authenticated users.
    >
    > I have create a separate user for that workstation that is not a member

You cannot exclude any computer or user from being an authenticated user...
    > Ultimately I want default domain policy to be filtered out and the gpo
    > specific to this pc to be applied.
Then simply block inheritance on the OU this computer lives in, and link
the specific GPO to that OU.

  • How to use non default port 1521 while 11.2.0.1 grid upgrade to 11.2.0.2

    Hi Team ,
We are planning 11.2.0.1 Grid infra rolling upgrade to 11.2.0.2 with out any downtime.
But while up gradation due to default scan port 1521 , 11.2.0.1 databases are not able to connect (remote connections)
We are using 1900 port for existing 11.2.0.1 grid infra scan.
While up gradation it is taking default port of 1521 insted of existing port 1900.
Please provide the solution to use non default port while 11.2.0.2 up gradation.
After upgrade the status as below.
    grdoratst104:/apps/grid/grdhome:+ASM4> srvctl config scan_listener
SCAN Listener LISTENER_SCAN1 exists. Port: TCP:1521
SCAN Listener LISTENER_SCAN2 exists. Port: TCP:1521
SCAN Listener LISTENER_SCAN3 exists. Port: TCP:1521
Here I was getting TNS:no Listener errors from the client connections.
I have modifyed the scan port then it is working fine.
    grdoratst104:/apps/grid/grdhome:+ASM4> srvctl modify scan_listener -p TCP:1800
    grdoratst104:/apps/grid/grdhome:+ASM4> srvctl config scan_listener
SCAN Listener LISTENER_SCAN1 exists. Port: TCP:1800
SCAN Listener LISTENER_SCAN2 exists. Port: TCP:1800
SCAN Listener LISTENER_SCAN3 exists. Port: TCP:1800
    grdoratst104:/apps/grid/grdhome:+ASM4>
Here the problem is we need to do the grid infra upgrade with out downtime, but due this default port issue clients are not able to connect to the database.
    Thanks

Why are you using a non default port? It does not improve security. It makes network management more complex. And causes the type of issues that you are facing now.
So before changing defaults, make sure that your reasons are technically sound. And using port 1900 when 1521 is available, is not technically sound by any means.
As for addressing the problem you have created for yourself by mucking around with port numbers. Use a NAT firewall (on each RAC node) to rewrite packets headers received on port 1900 and send these to the server's port 1521 instead (on the VIP or static IP as required).
This can be fairly easily done using iptables if your o/s is Linux. You need to:
    a) create a pre-routing NAT rule
    b) create a post-routing NAT rule
    c) create a forwarding filter rule for port 1900/tcp
    d) create an input filter rule to accept traffic on 1900/tcp

  • Windows 2012 R2 default domain controllers policy set to enforced

    Hi Guys,
So I've migrated my domain from Windows 2003 R2 over to Windows 2012 R2 and so far everything is running ok. Had a few problems relating to orphaned DC's but have cleared this up now. However, i'm now trying to get to grips with using group policy. When
i migrated, the old policy settings seemed to have come across and things seem to be still locked down ok, in relation to certain OUs. I run a network at our local college so i have a student container which applies a lock-down policy. All these GPOs where
    previously setup by someone else.
I setup a test network at home before i did the said migration and am now comparing some group policy settings, namely the default ones, and i have noticed that default domain controllers policy has been set to enforced on my newly migrated domain. At home
on my test server i see it is not enforced by default and am wondering why this is? I have been reading up but i can't find anything that tells me it should be enforced but wary to disable this setting. The students return on Monday so i don't want to mess
    it up at this stage.
One thing that i did find odd is when i first opened up the GPO's, i was prompted with a message which stated that the policies in the sysvol folder where not consistent with the ones in AD so i followed its recommendation to update.
Any advise you guys have on this would be greatly appreciated.
    David

    > So I've migrated my domain from Windows 2003 R2 over to Windows 2012 R2
    > and so far everything is running ok.
This does NOT touch any GPOs, so your GPOs are not "migrated" or
something like that - they are still what they were before.
    > enforced on my newly migrated domain. At home on my test server i see it
    > is not enforced by default and am wondering why this is?
"A sever misunderstanding of how group policy inheritance and link order
works" is the closest reason I see for this. The DDCP is linked to
"Domain Controllers", and as long as you do not create subordinate OUs
there (which I've never seen) and block inheritance on them, there's no
    reason to enforce.
To add my experience from the field: When I see enforced GPOs, in most
cases this enforcement is not required. People simply use it because
they do not understand "link order".
    > One thing that i did find odd is when i first opened up the GPO's, i was
    > prompted with a message which stated that the policies in the sysvol

That's fairly ok and nothing to hassle about.

  • How to use non-default Alias Table in Analyzer report

Hi,I defined many alias tables in Essbase. I would like to use a different alias table other than the "default" in Analyzer 6.5 report. In the on-line help, it said I can modify in "database connection properties" when first defining a new report to use a specific alias table. It tells me to do the following: Click the "New" toolbar button. Select a Display Type or Layout, and click OK. Right-click a database connection name in the "Select Database Connections" dialog box, and select Modify from the right-click menu.So I did this, but as I did the last-right click, there is no "Modify" option available. Only has "Add New..", "Database Connection Properties.." However, if I defined a new personal database connection using the login user, I can select to use other alias table. But this will go to personal database connection properties. Is it possible to specifically tell Analyzer to use other alias the global level in database connection? What I use to do is to have certain reports to use the default alias, and another to use another alias table. These reports should be able to share across all users.Sam

In deed it is fix in the GA.Another way to set the alias table is to do it in the Admin client. If you add a connexion to a user there is a new 6.5 button "set alias" that allow you to set the default alias table for this specific user. But, it does not exit on a user group level.

  • How to map printers for domain users?

That's exactly how I've done it.  I have a print server, and I deploy the printer via Group Policy (User config > preferences > control panel settings > printers).

I'm looking for some help. I need my end users to be able to print but I don't want to go around to all the work stations and add the printers manually (way too busy for that!) so I'm looking for a script, .vbs or .bat that I can put in the sysvol folder so I can have the printers be added once the user logins and will follow the user around no matter what computer that they log into.

  • About default domain user account details

    Hi...
I used to use username: default
pw: welcome1 for the BPEL console, when I installed SOA suite last time. But when I install it again it is not accepting this account details. I use SOA suite 10.1.3.1
    What might be the problem?
    Thanks,

Hi...I got the answer for this. The user account details are same. but the problem is I should not open this one in Chrome.
    Chrome and Firefox:
BPEL administrator is getting opened: username: oc4jadmin pw: oc4jadmin (The one that I gave at the time of installation)
    BPEL console: not getting opened
    Internet Explorer 5.0:
Both BPEL cosole (un: default & pw: welcome1) and BPEL admin getting opened.
I don't know the reason why BPEL console is not getting opened in chrome.

Try using the webapp name in your uri if it is not the default webapp. for example:
