How to assign LogicalDirectory in JCA File Adapter - OSB
in SOA Suite, you assign a value to LogicalDirectory by setting a property in composite.xml
how to achieve the same in OSB?
It is possible to register a Java Listener class, which can/will be invoked, when a last batch in the file, is read. Code for invoking the concurrent Program can be written in side this class.
Refer to following document on how to register the Java Listener class

Moreover, as an alternate to the above approach, chunk read interaction specs can be implemented along with the Sync File Read for your scenario( However,This will be a whole re-write, considering your current approach. Good News is, there is full-fledged example readily available for this in oracle docs).

How can I extend the JCA File Adapter
I would like to extend the JCA File adapter. I want to overcome the file size limit of the File Adapter.
I want to the JCA Fileadapter to have the following functionalites.
1. Split a file into smaller chunks, The chunk size will be set at design time and will be in bytes, an example would be split the file into 500K chunks.
2. Each file chunk will contain a Correlation Identifier and Message Sequence identification fields so it can be rebuilt by the receiver.
Is the beat approach is to write my own JCA File Adapter if I do how do I incorporate it within Jdeveloper?In short, you will have to do the following:
1. Develop an adapter which is compliant to JCA 1.5 spec. You should be able to run that as a web application within the OAS.
2. It should create a WSDL which is adhering to the WSDL Spec 1.1. Then JDeveloper will consume the same without any issues during the design time.
Alternately,
You can check with Oracle with the new featuren requrest for enhancing the File adapter. -
Duplicate namespace declarations when writing a file with JCA file adapter
I am using JCA File adapter to write a an XML file. The composite contains a mediator which received and transforms an XML to desired format and then calls a JCA file adapter to write the file.
The problem that I am having is that the written file has declaration of namespaces repeated with repeating elements instead of a single declaration at root. For ex.
instead of
<ns0:Root xmlns:ns0="namespace0" xmlns:ns1="namespace1" xmlns:ns2="namespace2">
<ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns1:Element1>value1</ns1:Element1>
<ns2:Element2>value2</ns2:Element2>
</ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns1:Element1>value3</ns1:Element1>
<ns2:Element2>value4</ns2:Element2>
</ns0:RepeatingChild>
</ns0:Root>What I see in the file is:
<ns0:Root xmlns:ns0="namespace0" xmlns:ns1="namespace1" xmlns:ns2="namespace2">
<ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns1:Element1 xmlns:ns1="namespace1" xmlns:"namespace1">value1</ns1:Element1>
<ns2:Element2 xmlns:ns2="namespace2" xmlns:"namespace2">>value2</ns2:Element2>
</ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns0:RepeatingChild>
<ns1:Element1 xmlns:ns1="namespace1" xmlns:"namespace1">>value3</ns1:Element1>
<ns2:Element2 xmlns:ns2="namespace2" xmlns:"namespace2">>value4</ns2:Element2>
</ns0:RepeatingChild>
</ns0:Root>So basically all the elements which are in different namespace than root element have a namespace declaration repeated even though the namespace identifier is declared at the root elment level.
Although, the XML is still valid, but this is unnecessarily increasing the filesizes 3-4 times. Is there a way I can write the XML file without duplicate declarations of namespaces?
I am using SOA Suite 11.1.1.4
The file adapter has the schema set as above XML.
I tried the transformation in mediator using XSL and also tried using assign [source(input to mediator) and target(output of mediator, input of file adapter) XMLs are exactly same].
but no success.I used automapper of JDeveloper to generate the schema. The source and target schema are exactly same.
I was trying to figure it out and I observed that if the namespaces in question are listed in exclude-result-prefixes list in xsl, then while testing the XSL in jDeveloper duplicate namespaces occur in the target and if I remove the namespace identifiers from the exclude-result-prefixes list then in jDeveloper testing the target correctly has only a single namespace declaration at the root node.
But, when I deployed the same to server and tested there, again the same problem. -
OSB Error in deploying a project with jca file adapter
Hi,
I am facing an issue where I am getting an error when deploying a service from Eclipse. I am using OSB/SOA 11.1.1.5 2 node cluster. I have an OSB service where I am writing to a file and am using file adapater. I created a composite with file adapter to write a file then imported .jac, .wsdl and composite into eclipse and generated a business service out of .jca file. When I deploy the project from eclipse I am getting the below error and am not able to deploy the project.
Conflicts found during publish.
Invalid JCA transport endpoint configuration, exception: javax.resource.ResourceException: Cannot locate Java class oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileInteractionSpec
Cannot locate Java class oracle.tip.adapter.file.outbound.FileInteractionSpec
I have FileAdapter deployed and pointed to OSB manage servers cluster. Here is a snippet of config.xml.
<app-deployment>
<name>FileAdapter</name>
<target>SOA_Cluster,OSB_Cluster</target>
<module-type>rar</module-type>
<source-path>/app/oracle/fmw/Oracle_SOA1/soa/connectors/FileAdapter.rar</source-path>
<deployment-order>321</deployment-order>
<plan-dir xsi:nil="true"></plan-dir>
<plan-path>/app/oracle/shared/SOA_Cluster/dp/FileAdapterPlan.xml</plan-path>
<security-dd-model>DDOnly</security-dd-model>
<staging-mode>nostage</staging-mode>
</app-deployment>
Also inside console -> deployments -> FileAdapter -> Targets and OSB_Cluster is checked also.
Here is the .jca file
<adapter-config name="writeFile" adapter="File Adapter" wsdlLocation="writeFile.wsdl" xmlns="http://platform.integration.oracle/blocks/adapter/fw/metadata">
<connection-factory location="eis/HAFileAdapter"/>
<endpoint-interaction portType="Write_ptt" operation="Write">

<property name="Append" value="false"/>
<property name="FileNamingConvention" value="a_%SEQ%.doc"/>
<property name="NumberMessages" value="1"/>
</interaction-spec>
</endpoint-interaction>
</adapter-config>
Any idea what might be wrong.
Thanks.I already have the fileAdapter JNDI is already configured in console. The error I am getting is during the deployment

How to assign directory path of File/FTP adapter into a variable insideBPEL
Hi,
i need to get the directory path given to file/Ftp adapter (write/PUT) into a variable while invoking, which will be later used in some other BPEL service for processing.
i am able to get the directory path easily using "jca.file.filename/jca.ftp.filename" in case of invokin Read\GET adapter but am struggling to get these details while invoking a file/Ftp adapter (write/PUT).
kindly tell me is it possible to get these properties in case of file/Ftp adapter (write/PUT) !!!!
Thanks

How to get value of jca.file.IsEof using fromproperties in file adapter
Hi Guys,
I have a scenario where i use a file adapter for syncread (for doing chunkRead).
While invoking this adapter i send jca.file.FileName and jca.file.Directory as input properties dynamically.
In response i expect jca.file.IsEOF and jca.file.IsMessageRejected, for this i have done the following steps.
1. Create a file adapter for SyncRead
2. Create an invoke activity and input/output variables along with it.
3. set input properties as below ..
4. get the values of jca.file.IsEOF and jca.file.IsMessageRejected using bplex:fromproerties
<invoke name="Invoke1"
inputVariable="Invoke1_SynchChunked_InputVariable"
outputVariable="Invoke1_SynchChunked_OutputVariable"
partnerLink="SamplSyncChunkRead"
portType="ns19:SynchChunked_ptt"
operation="SynchChunked"
bpelx:invokeAsDetail="no">
<bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.FileName"
variable="inputVariable"
part="payload"
query="/ns11:fileHeader/ns11:fileName"/>
<bpelx:inputProperty name="jca.file.Directory"
variable="inputVariable"
part="payload"
query="/ns11:fileHeader/ns11:directory"/>
<bpelx:fromProperties>
*<bpelx:fromProperty name="jca.file.IsEOF" variable="isEndofFile"/>*
*<bpelx:fromProperty name="jca.file.IsMessageRejected" variable="istheMessageRejected"/>*
</bpelx:fromProperties>
</invoke>
5. Flow of the project is fine but im not getting the fromProperty values assigned to variables.
Note : rather using from proerties like give below
<bpelx:fromProperties>
*<bpelx:fromProperty name="jca.file.IsEOF" variable="isEndofFile"/>*
*<bpelx:fromProperty name="jca.file.IsMessageRejected" variable="istheMessageRejected"/>*
</bpelx:fromProperties>
if i use output proerties as given below it is not working..
<bpelx:outputProperty name="jca.file.isEOF" variable="isEndofFile"/>
<bpelx:outputProperty name="jca.file.IsMessageRejected" variable="istheMessageRejected"/>
Any suggestions on this ???
Thanks in advance guys...Thanks veejai...
i have used the following properties in my code..
<bpelx:fromProperties>
<bpelx:fromProperty name="jca.file.IsEOF" variable="isEndofFile"/>
<bpelx:fromProperty name="jca.file.IsMessageRejected" variable="istheMessageRejected"/>
</bpelx:fromProperties>
if i use output proerties as given below it is not working..
<bpelx:outputProperty name="jca.file.isEOF" variable="isEndofFile"/>
<bpelx:outputProperty name="jca.file.IsMessageRejected" variable="istheMessageRejected"/>
any suggestion on <bplex:fromproperties> ?? -

How to transform data received from file adapter
hi',
I am reading the data from XML file using file adapter, now I want to write the same contents which I have read from this file to a different/new XML file, the issue is I am unable to perform a transform here, when I use a transform with source element as the output of the file read and target as the input to the new file it is writing an empty file,
I have checked the audit trail which showsme that the transform is empty.
please tell me how can I transform the element which I have received from one file to make them as input to next file
thanks
Yatanthanks James for input, this is my XML and XSD files
XML file:
<?xml version="1.0" ?>
<xsd:schema xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
xmlns="http://www.example.org"
targetNamespace="http://www.example.org"

<xsd:element name="name" type="xsd:string"/>
<xsd:element name="empid" type="xsd:string"/>
</xsd:sequence>
</xsd:complexType>
</xsd:element>
</xsd:schema>
I am reading XML file, I will describe my process.
1.) File adapter>read operation ---> receive activity
2.) Transform > source(receive input variable) <--->target(Invoke input variable)
3.) File adapter > write operation ---> invoke activity
Now when I am deploying this process it is sucessfully completing and able to read the file.
when I check the audit trail receive activity shows XML data but when I check the transform it
shows empty as below, however the write activity is performed which creates a xml file but no values in the elements
transform in audit trail

SooryaHi Sejoon,
when we changed the host of XI server in one of our projects one of the things we had to change was the exchange profile entries
http://server:port/exchangeProfile/index.html
to see how your adapter engine is configured
http://server:port/sld
SLD -> Content Maintenance
then
Subset: landscape description
Class: XI Adapter Framework
buth check the exchange profile entries first

How to add fault handling for file adapter??
Hi guys I am new to SOA technology ,I have one scenario in file adapter ,when file adapter reads a file from directory .If file is there then read the file data else it can give user defined exception that the file is not there .How can i write user defined exception in SOA?? Give me any ideas please.............
Thanks in advance..So, you want to (1) Fetch the data from these 3 type of files and (2) Also, store the payload data of the file, which is in XML format, into the same database tables ?
If this is the requirement.. then, I would say, you could :
(1) Read files using file adapter, but not as opaque.. Define schemas conforming to the file structures. In that way, you'll always have the file data read in the form of XML.
(2) Fetch relevant data from such XML payloads of files and insert into database tables. Then, insert the XML payload into WHO column. You might have to convert the xml data into blob/clob before inserting.
Job done ! -

How to find EOF in BPEL File adapter
Hi All,
I am using file adapter in BPEL(SOA 11G) to read a csv file. The CSV file is very large so we have are processing the files in batched of 20000 records.I am inserting the records form CSV file to a staging table and after that I am invoking a concurrent Program for further processing.This is working fine and BPEL is initiating no of instances based on the file size.
The issue here is, I want to submit the concurrent program only once when all the records are stored in staging table, I mean to say the BPEL Process should process the file in batches and then insert them in to the staging table. Once all the records from the file are stored in the table, then only the Concurrent Program should get submitted.
I am using DB Adapter for invoking a PL/SQL API and from there we are submitting concurrent Program.
Please help me on this to solve this.
Thanks!It is possible to register a Java Listener class, which can/will be invoked, when a last batch in the file, is read. Code for invoking the concurrent Program can be written in side this class.

How to handle large data in file adapter
We have a scenario Proxy -> PI -> File Sever using File adapter.
File adapter is using FCC for conversion.
recently we had wave 2 products live and suddenly for this interface we have increase in volume of messages, due to which File adapter is not performing well, PI goes slow or frequent disconnect from file server problem. Due to which either we will have duplicate records in file or file format created is wrong.
File size is somewhere around 4.07 GB which I also think quite high for PI to handle.
Can anybody suggest how we can handle such large data.
