Is there any way I can automate the process of creating BIAR files from the repository (Crystal / Webi reports)?

You can generate BIAR files from the command line and thus automate this at OS level.

How to automate the process of Uploading RPD ?

Hi All,
I am on 11.1.1.6.0 and Windows server 2008. What I am wanting to do is to automate the process of uploading the repository on my development server and restarting the server automatically. And I want this to happen 3 times a day at specified intervals. For ex, I want that automatically, at 6:00 AM, 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM everyday my MUD repository should be uploaded to my development BI server without any manual intervention whatsover.
I know this can be done using the wlst sctipts. I have couple of questions around that will appreciate if anybody can answer both of them.
1. I don't know and understand the language which wlst scripts use. And even if somebody gives a ready script I should be able to understand that. So the question is from where can I learn that language. Like for BIP, we can learn xslt from w3 schools. How can i do for wlst tool/ scripts?
2. Lets say I learned the language and created a script abc.py which uploads the repository. But How will that be automatically called or run on my Development Server? By a windows batch script? If yes, then who will run that windows batch script ? Do I need to manually run that? Or running of Windows Batch script can also be automated and can be run at specified intervals as I want?
I'll appreciate if somebody can explain me this in detail.

How to automate the process of adding members into the planning workflow and assigning owners to it?

Hi,
We have a workflow XYZ. After every two-three days our entity structure is getting refreshed - so new entities comes in.
Every time we have to manually add these new entities to the workflow and assign owners to it.
Please let me know if there is any option to automate the process.

Currently, ExportPDF can only handle 1 file at a time. Adobe Acrobat can do batch export to Excel, however.
This idea has already been added to the ExportPDF Ideas list ("Export multiple..."). If you'd like to see this improvement to ExportPDF, please add your vote or comment here.

In PP61 we have to select either target plan or actual plan and also there are radio buttons for selecting the periods,how do you automate the data upload,i think there is only one field to upload (organizational unit )only then what about other parameters,if it is possible to upload all the parameters,let me know.

How to automate the process of converting a pdf to excel online?

Hi,
Each morning I recieve a bunch of pdf files form my clinet and I need to convert all of them to MS - excel and then use them for further calculations.
This is a repititive, tedious and time consuming process.
So the idea is to automate the following steps-
1. Open the pdf file from the suggested/given location
2. Convert it to excel- online
3. Save it at a desired location
4. Repeat the process for all files.
Can some one please suggest how to write and execute the code to fulfill this algorithm?

How to automate the process of loadind data from XML to BI.

We have configured all settings that is required for web service portal(web application server).
But, the problem is that when we go to the T-Code WSADMIN----> XMLA -->Test
After entering the data manually i.e material,plant etc. it will be available for RSA7.
Now, we want to automate these process i.e to load data thru files.
We have gone thru the XML to BI document. Anyone who have worked on these scenario would be helpful.
This is the HTML code for for uploading an XML file and sending this to the BW Web application server by using HTTP.

How to automate the process of vendor invoice verificaiton from SAP

My client to scan the Invoice (once it is received from vendor), upload it in SAP, the User will look at the Invoice in SAP and then perform Invoice Verification in MIRO.
The Process mechanics is
1.Plant Manager will receive the Invoice physically by the vendor
2.Plant Manager then will fax the Invoice to a central location/Team
3.It gets scanned and gets uploaded in SAP
4.The Manager/FI folks will looked at this scanned copy and then perform
Inv. Verification.
After this i need to enhance the MIRO screen so that once PO or GR no will be entered,
then corresponding vendor invoice has to be displayed in same screen
Kindly can u give me approach to for the above requirement.

How to Trigger the process chain using Excel Files?

Hi All,
We have 9 excel files(4 master data attributes and text files and 1 transaction file).
Everyday new records will be added into the excel sheets and we need to trigger all these files into the bw server through process chain automatically . As we have all these Excel files in the desktop.
Please suggest how to achieve this task?

Hi,
You cannot load flat files to BW automatically using process chains.
You have to upload them to Apllication server and point your Infopackage to the directory path of the flat file in application server. then process chains can load it.

How to find the process responsible for deleting files

We have a process which stores a file in a particular location say /tmp/mydir/. The files getting stored in this directory are getting deleted. Is there any way to find which process is responsible for deleting the file. Is there any way we can truss on the directory/file and check which process accessed it or deleted it.

How do I drrace for "anything that touched taht file" or, "anything that touches files in a directory"That's actually a somewhat difficult task for dtrace. First, you might download the "Dtrace toolkit". One of the tools in there is "opensnoop". It reports on file opens and you can examine the script to see how it does it. You can even give a filename and it only reports when that filename is accessed.
But the main problem is that files can have many names, and dtrace is just looking at the name in many cases. So "/etc/passwd" can be called "/etc/passwd", or if you're in /usr it could be called "../etc/passwd", or any of a variety of names. It's not too hard to set a probe predicate to fire only on a pattern match, so you could set it to only fire when the filename is matched.
Good luck, and see if any of the existing tools in the toolkit are close enough that you can use them directly or modify them slightly.

What are the options to create .biar file in 4.1. Business objects used to have Import Wizard in 3.1, now its being eliminated. Any alternatives now?

You can create a .BIAR file on BI 4.1, i do it all the time, using .bat and .properties files.
.bat file :

.properties file for juste save public file and dependencies (for exemple) :

But you can used other query, and more than 1.

To follow up on your question are you using the maxl scripts for the dataload?
If so I have seen and issue within the batch (ex: load_data.bat) that if you do not have the full maxl script path with a batch when running it through event task scheduler the task will work but the log and/ or error file will not be created. Meaning the batch claims it ran from the task scheduler although it didn't do what you needed it to.
If you are using maxl use this as the batch
"essmsh C:\data\DataLoad.mxl" Or you can also use the full path for the maxl either way works. The only reason I would think that the maxl may then not work is if you do not have the batch updated to call on all the maxl PATH changes or if you need to update your environment variables to correct the essmsh command to work in a command prompt.

Need to genrate the deletion program using tcode Delete_Facts.
steps : 1 run the Delete_Facts tcode and give your cube name in the input parameter
step2 . select deletion program and execute . you will get the system genarated program
step 3 copy this prg and save as zprg.
step4 : run the program with selection
step 5. if your selection is date then you need to create dynamic varient needs to be populate the value for the date fields
step 6: you need to maintain the date values in the TVAR table if necessary
step 7. you need to use this custom prg in your process chain after completion of test
