How to avoid Dimension name in my pivot table

I have developed report from cube using excel
in this pivo ttable i have an hierarchy in this fields names contains
dimension name.fields but i want show only fields name only, i don't want display dimension name before fileds name
how to avoid this

Hi,
is it Role playing dimension? In Role playing dimension case you can't hide dimension name prefix. Consider creating new database dimensions instead of using role dimensions.

How to avoid Duplicate Records while joining two tables

I am trying to join three tables, basically two tables are same one is like history table, so I wrote a query like

but this returing duplicate records.
Could anyone please tell me how to avoid duplicate records of this query.

Actually it is like if the record is processed it will be moved to hist table, so both table will not have same records and I need the record from both the tables so i have done the union of both the tables, so d will have the union of both records.
But I am getting duplicate records if even I am distinct.

How to extend No. of columns for PIVOT table in BI Publisher Desktop

I am using the Oracle BI Publisher Desktop to design the TEMPLATE for Oracle Reports.
I need to create the PIVOT table .In my PIVOT table I need to display 9 columns but when I tried to create PIVOT table by dragging 9 columns only first 4 columns are displaying in report.
Can anyone suggest me how can I increase the number of columns in PIVOT table?

if you carefully look inside the form field's you will find the logic of sort . if you remove that you will get the data without any sorting order.

How to hide/suppress empty columns in pivot tables

In a pivot table, is there any way to do something like "suppress missing data" to make an entire column hidden only if it is empty? I have a situation where I can't hide an entire measure because the measure has values for another dimension, but I would like to hide the column that is empty. See the example below. I would like to hide the combination of Dim1 and Measure 2, and the combination of Dim 2 and Measure 3. I can't hide all columns with Dim1 and/or Dim2, or Measure2 and/or Measure3. Is there any way to hide just the column with the empty combination? Thanks.

That made a difference, but it still needs some work. The IfNull() function picked up every value in the columns that I wanted to hide and changed them to zero. The conditional formatting that you suggested hid the content in those columns from the HTML. However, there ended up being several issues:
1) IfNull() picked up other null values that happened to be in the resultset, so the conditional formatting was applied to more than intended. I could correct that by changing the data value in the physical database columns for the entire pivot table columns that I want hidden, but then I have to work around having bogus values in those intersections. Still, that is a possible workaround.
2) The column headers for the columns that I want to disappear did not go away. When I applied CSS display:none, it shifts the pivot table cells to the left, so a lot of the data ends up under the wrong column headings.
3) CSS display:none only hides the content from screen readers. When I view the pivot table on the dashboard and print it to a PDF, the data in the columns that I want to disappear are back.
That still seems like it's a long ways from "suppress missing data" for the entire column. Thanks for your suggestion.

Report totals with dimension hierarchy column on pivot table incorrect

Hi,
I have a pivot table based report that has one dimension column, a dimension hierarchy column and various measures.
The row totals do not match, detail to total, and I have tried both complex server based aggregate and report based aggregation, but neither are giving me the correct answer.
I have also tried adding the column that is the same as the top level as the hierarchy, but hidden, but this does not help.
I have also tried adding the lowest level of detail column, but hidden, but this does not give me the solution I need as all of the figures then appear at detail not aggregated level.
Any ideas please?

To achieve this, use the following:
In column properties, choose data format tab.
Override the default data format, Treat Text as Custom Text Format.
Paste the following into the format box:

How to avoid printer name prompt while calling Smartform

I am calling smartform FM from my program. I am passing following settings in Output-Options and Control-Parameters:
wa_outputoptions-tddest = 'LP01'. "Printer name
wa_outputoptions-tdnewid = 'X'.     "New request
wa_controlpara-device = 'PRINTER'.   "Device
wa_controlpara-no_dialog = 'X'.          "No dialog
Even after these settings I am getting prompt which asks printer name and other details.
Please tell me how I can avoid the prompt which asks printer name and other settings such as new spool request and print immediately.

How to Load file name in to Oracle table column

I am loading data from flat file(TEST_GRET.DMP) to oracle table.
while the Target Oracle table has four coloumns, in which one is File_name.
I want to load the FILE NAME into that table too. as there is no ????

If you are loading multiple files using a single interface, using variables, Bhabani's first solution and my solution are good.
If you only have one interface with your datastore, you know the file name and it won't change, you can use Bhabani's second solution or mine.
I did not test my solution but it is quite simple to test.
Just put the code provided for the mapping of your target column.
This solution has the advantage it should always work.

How to avoid displaying empty rows in a table?

The situation is as follows:
I have got a set of questions under a particular category say marketing category.
The user will be displayed with a table consisting of a set of questions from a particular category with four radio buttons for each question.
Now once he is done with all the set of questions under a particular category, he will be navigated to the next set of questions under some other category say 'xyz'
Now instead of creating seperate view objects for each category, we have created a view object which will hold all the set of questions from all the category but will display only the set of questions under a particular category by declaring a variable in the backing bean and setting the question rendering to the value in the variable. the value to the variable will be changed once the user is done with answering all the set of questions under a particular category.
Now the problem that i am facing is:
Because of the rendering condition that i have used, it displays only those rows that have the rendering condition set to the variable in the backing and displays all other empty rows overlapped.
How do i avoid this situation ??

How can show dimension's attributes as BIBeans table's columns?

I want to create a table like that:
customer...phone_no....address....money

customer info is a dimension ,and money is a measure.
customer dimension has three attributes: customer & phone_no & address,
I set customer attribute as a short_description,then it can be shown as a column,
but only a short_description attribute allowed,how can I show phone_no & address as table's columns?

Hello ming,
You might want to create a new column/attribute in your dimension for each level that contains a description of that level. So when you are doing your mapping, you could put the customer||phone||address into the level description and use that attribute as your short description.
Example level1_desc = customer||to_char(phone_no)||address.

How to avoid deadlock when multithreading updates one table same time?

Multithreading calls the stored procedure at the same time to update data in one table. For a instance,

There are several steps I want:
1. Get the data in Table1 where Col1 = C1 in a cursor which has Col1 column and Col2 column.
2. Cycle them one by one, and get the Col3 data from Table2 where Col1 = C1 and Table2.Col2 = Table1.Col2. (Due to deadlock is my concern, we use temp table, definityly it is not a good way. :( )
3. Update Table1 Set Col3 = Table2.Col3.
My new idea is when I get the collection from Table1 which Col1 = C1, I use this way below.
First I set transaction in below way.
SET TRANSACTION ISOLATION LEVEL READ COMMITTED;
Then
select * from Table1 where Col1 = C1 for update nowait;
In my opinion, if one thread lock the data for update, other thread won't select out that locked data. Does it work?

Why is the data submitted as a collection in the first place?
A collection is great as a program data structure - dealing with program variables. It is a very poor choice to use it to deal with Oracle data in a CRUD fashion.
The purpose, ito dealing with Oracle data, of a PL/SQL collection is for one thing and one thing only - context switching.
To reduce the number of times you need to step out of PL/SQL and into the SQL engine in order to pass data from one to the other. A collection allows you a bigger buffer area and thus less context switches.
And that's it.
A client (Java, C#, etc) that submits data to Oracle to be CRUD via a collection is a design flaw. A collection resides in "expensive" dedicated, non-sharable and non-scalable server memory.
In order to CRUD a collection, you either need to write bare bones feature methods yourself, or cast that collection into a SQL structure and use more powerful and flexible and feature rich SQL against it.
Which then begs the question - why did the client not submit that data directly to the SQL engine, either into a permanent table or a temporary table?
Performance and scalability are issues that need to be addressed at core design level. It is not something that can be tacked on and "fixed" after the fact. So you need to make very sure that your reasons for not wanting to use a temp table (for example), are valid and sound technical reasons.
