How to bind component to template iterator/vo?

Hi,
I have a tree in my page template that needs to be accessible throughout the whole application.
The application will have many hundreds of pages, so it would be quite annoying if we have to redefine iterator & vo's in each single page def.
Is there a way to bind the tree to the template page's definition? Or maybe to make other pages inherit the template's page def?

Thanks John,
While re-reading that section I realized what the problem was :
I created my page template, then created some pages.
Afterwards I added the tree to the page template.
It appears that in this case, the calling page does not automatically add the page template's definition as an executable to its own page def.

How to package a page template as a reusable component??

Hello, i need to package a page template as a reusable component, this template has images and lot of parameters.
Any suggest?

How to bind complex input/output types in web service data control

Hi,
I have created data control using external web service for simple input & output data type and its working fine.
But I don't know how it can be done for complex data types.
My external Web services have complex input & output types. Such as java object which contains another java object again it contains another java object or arry or java collection etc.
Each my service has one complex input data type and for this no user input is require so how I can do it without using any component for it.
I want to bind my page components with this input & output type.
What is the best approach to do this and how to bind screen component.

How to bind a user selected value to a view object bind variable?

I have two pages in ADF BC application. In the first page ,i will give a drop down menu to user which displays all the table names in my databse.
when the user selects a table and goes to the second page..he should be given a menu or a check list of all the columns in the user selected table....
to display the columns i have used the query
Select COLUMN_NAME from user_tab_columns where table_name = : table_name in the view object.
now how to bind the user selected table value in the first page to the table_name bind variable in view object ?

Hi,
depends on how the select box is implemented. With ADF and ADF Faces, the default value selection is the list index. In a value change listener you could look up the selected value from the underlying iterator. Store this value e.g. in a session attribute and point the NDValue of the ExecuteWithParams operation to #{sessionScope.your_attribute}

How to bind modal efficiantly

Can any one tell me how to bind modal to other views or custom controller. Because a modal have many bapi but in a application we required very few field as compare to whole modal. If we bind whole modal to each view then this is not a very good idea. But if not then some how It may lead to some unexpected result.

if u have more number of models in ur project, u can customise according to u r use....
let us say...
i am 4 views.........
i had already one component controller present in the data modeler...if u can, add the custom controller.. so that u can add some of the models to custom controllers and some of the models to component controllers, that depends on the use of ur models in the views.....

How to Bind a Combo Box so that it retrieves and display content corresponding to the Id in a link table and populates itself with the data in the main table?

I am developing a desktop application in Wpf using MVVM and Entity Frameworks. I have the following tables:
1. Party (PartyId, Name)
2. Case (CaseId, CaseNo)
3. Petitioner (CaseId, PartyId) ............. Link Table
I am completely new to .Net and to begin with I download Microsoft's sample application and
following the pattern I have been successful in creating several tabs. The problem started only when I wanted to implement many-to-many relationship. The sample application has not covered the scenario where there can be a any-to-many relationship. However
with the help of MSDN forum I came to know about a link table and managed to solve entity framework issues pertaining to many-to-many relationship. Here is the screenshot of my application to show you what I have achieved so far.
And now the problem I want the forum to address is how to bind a combo box so that it retrieves Party.Name for the corresponding PartyId in the Link Table and also I want to populate it with Party.Name so that
users can choose one from the dropdown list to add or edit the petitioner.

The problem, presumably, seems to be is that the binding path "PetitionerLookup" of the ItemSource of the Combo box in the view vPetitioner exists in a different ViewModel vmCase which serves as an ObservableCollection for MainViewModel. Therefore,
what I need to Know is how to route the binding path if it exists in a different ViewModel?

Steps to follow to create WAD in WEB Template in 3.5 or 7.0 u2026u2026..
Go to All programs and select your web application designer
Select the button to create a new page in WAD
Select the chart and place in the layout
Next goto Data provider Target and select your query
Give your report name in the given data provider screen
Select your query in History/find/Favourites/Infoareas button
Select your query in this screen and click OPEN
Now we can see the data provider is assigned to the chart.
To edit the chart you have to right click on the chart
After right click on it we will find another screen where we can edit all the settings
In this screen we can find NEXT click button to change our settings
In this screen we can state the tasks (Title, units, values, range)
In this screen we can change our background /validity/color
In this screen we can add values to the chart
In this screen we can add validity/positions/order/axis types to the chart
In this screen we can change the global settings/and overview of the chart.
This screen shows that we have customized the chart successfully
After successful creation of the chart we have to save the chart
Save your chart in your favorites by giving the description and technical name in the given block.
Now execute your WAD by selecting the execute button

PA_CONTRACT_XSLFO: How to invoke a RTF-template with related data template

Dear Reader,
actually I want to extend the standard Document Type Layout for a Purchase Agreement Contract with additional data from approved supplier list (ASL).
Therefor I have created a RTF-template and a data template with the needed sql-statement. For testing I put this in a standalone concurrent programm and it works fine (result was a blue table with all data rows).
Next step for me was to invoke the RTF-template into the PA_CONTRACT_XSLFO template for extending the Document Type Layout for my Purchase Agreement Contract. So I put the neede invoke-statements
<xsl:import href="xdo://XXOC.XX_RTF_TEMPLATE.de.00/"/>
and
<xsl:call-template name="XX_RTF_TEMPLATE"/>
into the XSLFO-template. Also I extend the RTF-template with the define template statement

So all seems to be fine.
As result I get the standard document for Purchase Agreement Contract with the additional blue table from RTF-template BUT WITHOUT DATA !
From my point of view there is no execution of the sql-statement in data template. But I dont know why.
Do Oracle support a combination of XSLFO-template with data template?

calls [RTF-template] with related [data template (with included sql-statement)]

IMHO you can not attach it to main. it'll be second independent report
you can try subtemplate but it's not about rtf from rtf by click
it's about call automatically rtf subtemplate from main rtf based on some conditions
for example, main template contain some data and if some condition is true then call subtemplate and place it instead of its condition

How To Call a Broadcasting Template within an ABAP program

I was wondering if anyone knew how to call the Broadcast template via an ABAP program so it will execute? The scenario that I have is we are doing validations via BW. We put the data (for conversion reasons) through validation rules and then load a data target. From this, there are 2 situations that could occur:
1) There are errors
2) There are not any errors
If #1 is true, then I would like to execute the Query Broadcasting Template that I have created. If #2 is true, then I would like to execute another process via the ABAP program. In the past, I was successful using exception reporting via reporting agent, since I was able to call that program but the report did not look good at all. Please let me know if there is a program that I could call in order to execute this broadcast that I have set up.

Pages stores those you created & saved as templates in (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates. The door to the user's Library is hidden in Lion but it is easy to open. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your users Library will appear about halfway down the list.

Please try with CMD: REFRESH_DATA. You can find this under 'Commands for Planning Application'.
Otherwise, you can take Action as : SCRIPT_FUNCTION and give "javascript:location.reload(true)" under Script Function.

Hi people!
I get to resolve any items. Anything important are:
- you can to view a structure of page template. The first you view it in the menu Shared Components >> Templates. There is a icon in the column "Preview" for the page, report and region template items. In the click on the icon you can view a template structure that should be shown in the execution.
- You can view where will be inserted a region on the option "display point". You need to click on the icon in the right of the "display point" option;
Well, If you pay attention in the two options you will know how to modify a template and how to create.
