How to call a method if I have a name of a method in String format

Hi Guys,
I need an idea how to replace this large code. It has more then 50 else-if in a row
if ((readerElement.getFunction()).equals("clickButton")) {
testFrameWork.clickButton();
}else if ((readerElement.getFunction()).equals("clickButtonWait")) {
testFrameWork.clickButtonWait();
}else if ((readerElement.getFunction()).equals("clickCreateJob")) {
testFrameWork.clickCreateJob();
Of course switch can't be helpful in my case. I am using a Strings and switch will not make my code better.
I need something like:
testFrameWork.((readerElement.getFunction()).toString)() - This is of course bad code but I just want to give an idea what I am looking for
Can I call somehow method by adding a name of that method by String?!

While reflections can be error prone, so is maintaining 50 if/else statements or 50 Command classes. You appear to have a good use case.

2- How to capture the In/Out parameter in the response.

However when i tried mapping it to Package.procedure, communication channel throws the error saying that Package.proceudre needs to be declared.
As i said , the procedure has IN-OUT parameter too.In oracle we need to write a block if we want to read the IN-OUT parameter.

How to call a dll which has one VISA name as input

The Labview application builder can generate a dll file from a vi which is a simple serial comunication program using VISA name as one control.
The problem is how to call the dll file in Labview which has a VISA name as INPUT?

I would suggest modifying the LabVIEW VI so that the input is a string control instead of a visa control. The LabVIEW application will work the same and there is no need for any casting. All visa VIs can take a string as an input. Then when you recreate the dll make the input a string. Then you can easily pass a string to the dll from any API.

i have a method of a class in the form of a string and i have the object of the class to which it belongs .what i want to do is call this method.
for ex:

// this is the object of my class. this class has one method called executeMe()

//i have the name of the method with me in the form of string.
so how can i call the class's method in this scenario from the string like what should i write in sucha way that i get s.executeMe(); it is not presumed that this will only be the method that will be called. there maybe some other method too and it has also to be called this way. so please guide.

you have not mentioned the version of the forms you are using.
In forms five you can use Run_Product built-in.
In Forms 10g you have to attach the report in the form as report object. then use Run_report_object
procedure. ensure that the report server is running and report server name is passed correctly.

How to convert BLOB data into string format.

Hi,
I have problem while converting blob data into string format.
for example,
Select dbms_lob.substr(c.shape.Get_wkb(),4000,1) from geotable c
will get me the first 4000 byte of BLOB .
When i using SQL as i did above,the max length is 4000, but i can get 32K using plsql as below:

end loop
return my_var;
I comfortably convert 32k BLOB field to string.
My problem is how to convert blob to varchar having size more than 32K.
Please help me to resolve this,

How to call a static method in a class if I have just the object?

Hello. I have an abstract class A where I have a static method blah(). I have 2 classes that extend class A called B and C. In both classes I override method blah(). I have an array with objects of type B and C.
For every instance object of the array, I'm trying to call the static method in the corresponding class. For objects of type B I want to call blah() method in B class and for objects of type C I want to call blah() method in C class. I know it's possible to call a static method with the name of the object, too, but for some reason (?) it calls blah() method in class A if I try this.
So my question is: how do I code this? I guess I need to cast to the class name and then call the method with the class name, but I couldn't do it. I tried to use getClass() method to get the class name and it works, but I didn't know what to do from here...
So any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Umm... So what you're saying is there is no way to do
this with that method being static? The behavior you describe cannot be obtained with only static methods in Java. You'd have to explicitly determine the class and then explicitly call the correct class' method.

I have a situation where I need to call AM method (setDefaultSubInv) from Managed bean, under Value change Listner method. Here is what I am doing, I have added AM method on to the page bindings, then in bean calling this

This works and able to call this method if there are no parameters. Say I have to pass a parameter to AM method setDefaultSubInv(String a), i tried calling this from the bean but throws an error

To clearly specify the problem.
I have a big part code that I use many times in my applications. So I decided to put it in a static method to reuse the code. but my method calls functions module of HR module. but just after the declaration ( at the first line of the call function) it thows an exception. So I can't call my method.

The problem is that I have no jobject (obj) of the class, because I don't want one...I don't need one. How can I call that void method without an object and only using the classname..??

You have to make the java method a static method, and use CallStaticVoidMethod.
"static" means that the method belongs to the class, and not an object of that class.
