How does one get tech support from adobe?  is there an online "chat" service?  There formerly was a telephone help service.  There is no phone number shown in "help.adobe.com"  Has phone support been eliminated as a cost-saving measure?

  • How to do performance tuning in SRM procurement?

Our SRM procurement is very slow.
Could you share your experience in tuning SRM procurement?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    Please go throught this .
Rebuild the indexes of the following tables on a regular basis:
    ARFCSSTATE
    ARFCSDATA
    TRFCQOUT
    TRFCQIN
    TRFCQSTATE
    TRFCQDATA
    ARFCRSTATE
This will significantly reduce the database load and therefore result in reduced database response times, in
particular for all index accesses against the qRFC tables.
Implementation: See SAP Notes 407125 and 332677 for instructions.
    For oracle 8i.
See SAP Note 332677 for advantages and disadvantages of the different methods.
The index rebuild might take up to several minutes for large tables and should be carried out during times
    with low RFC traffic.
    For oracle 9i or higher
The Size of the tRFC and qRFC Tables can vary for Applications that use this Functionality frequently. For Databases which use a CBO (Cost Based Optimizer) and that do not keep the Database Statistics current incorrect access paths may be chosen. This can lead to very long Runtimes.
Download the pre-generated statistics for the RFC tables TRFCQIN, TRFCQOUT,ARFCSSTATE, ARFCSDATA, ARFCRSTATE, QREFTID, TRFCQDATA, and TRFCQSTATE from SAP Note 1020260 and import them into your Oracle database using the instructions in the SAP Note. Ensure that the statistics are not overwritten by the next run of the BR tools by following the instructions in the SAP Note

  • How does one get tech support?

ThinkVantage suggested some system updates. I ran them and now my laptop is almost useless. I called Lenovo at (800) 426-7378 but, because I am out of warranty, they won't help me even if I pay. Please, does anyone have advice?

    1) You mean technical support other than the one from Lenovo? Forum is one avenue, it is free, but response time is usually couple of hrs or couple of days (or never) depending on whether people view the post and they have the technical expertise to help you out.
Another one is probably a paid technical support systems, i.e. from local computer store.
    2) is there anything more specific? like the error code? can you burn a linux live discs from some other computer, and try to run from the drive?

  • How does HTTP live streaming support subtitles?

Our app currently is on HTTP Live Streaming and everytime we scrub (fast forward or rewind) or if with low connection (buffering), the subtitle gets off-sync. Videos are segmented into 10 seconds so when you scrub, it jumps back to the nearest start of segment and when it does, it does not provide the exact and correct current playback time so we can't accurately compute for the offset, thus subtitle gets off synch.
Our one solution is to use ID3 tagging when we encode our videos so we know exactly the time when segments starts. Unfortunately, there are not much encoding system that uses this yet.
    Any ideas on this?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately, QTSS doesn't support HTTP Live Streaming. I wonder why Apple did not implement QTSS in Snow Leopard Server.
However, Helix Universal Server from Real can do the trick.

  • How does LinkSys WRT54G v7 support RTSP streaming service?

    Hello,
I'm using LinkSys WRT54G v7 and I can see RTSP videos using VLC player from m.youtube.com. Strangely, I cannot play videos if other AP such as DLINK is used instead of LinkSys.
I analyzed the packets and found out that RTSP server(youtube) sends RTP packets to client's ports which are acquired at RTSP SETUP procedures. Then the packets from server cannot reach the client because UDP hole is not punched at the AP.
But, when I use LinkSys, the RTP packets can traverse the NAT.
Here goes my question. Does LinkSys provide the NAT traversal of the RTSP streaming service? Then, why can't I find any feature list about this from the LinkSys product information? Any explanation about this?
Thank you in advance for your help!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    1. None of the NAT helpers in Linksys firmware are documented anywhere.
    2. Possibly, they have added a helper for RTP.
    3. It could also be that the VLC player forwards the port using UPnP.

  • How does anyone get customer support to actually provide support?

The concept of customer service is a complete joke at Adobe.
AGAIN, I was promised a response from Tier 2 support and AGAIN I've received no call. I got another call from Tier 1 to "promise me" that a call from Tier 2 would be coming. I've heard that line at least 6 times now.
Apparently in AdobeWorld, 24-48 hours for a response actually means 89+ days.
I've been trying for 89 days now (since September 30) to get this stupid product (Dreamweaver) working again. It was working and now quits with an error that "Licensing for this product has stopped working."
I've done everything Adobe has suggested at Tier 1 support (multiple times) and it has been escalated to Tier 2. Since Tier 2 has not called me back for 89 days, despite at least 6 promises of a call by Tier 1, I can only conclude that "escalated" is defined as "run through the shredder".
I'm now posting this everywhere I can find to get it resolved.
Why would I EVER recommend Adobe products with such shoddy care of their customers?
I did do everything on the Mac page that addresses this problem, as well as all 17 points on an EMail sent to me by Tier 1 support.
I've also created a new account on the computer and it has the same problem. I'm not about to erase the drive and do a complete OS reinstall though.
I sent them log files they asked for. It appears in the log files that they maintain a database somewhere on the computer that is queried for the the installed serial numbers and it is not getting the serial number back when it is queried. Upon entering the serial number the log says that it is storing to the database, but a few lines later in the log file it says it couldn't find it. That database is apparently corrupted and there is no indication of where it is to delete it and start all over.
I sent the logs back to them and was again promised I would receive a call from Tier 2 within 24-48 hours. Got it bumped up to a Tier 1 manager, who followed up with me later when I didn't get a Tier 2 response.
Still no response from Tier 2..... EVER!!!

OK Scott. Best wishes with finding a solution.but you'll probably know from your own experience that name calling doesn't resolve anything.
Out of interest, are you aware of the apology that Adobe issued earlier this year about their poor customer support?
    http://blogs.adobe.com/edtechatadobe/2009/08/lack_luster_adobe_customer_sup.html
Since you seem to have exhausted every possible solution that Adobe has offered, and no-one else seems to be hitting the brick walls that you're consistently hitting, rather than wasting your energy on decrying Adobe Customer Support, could the issue be with your specific machine?
Have you tried using another machine?

  • How does iPlanet Portal server support authentication to NT domains/workgroups?

I would recommend reading this ..
    http://docs.iplanet.com/docs/manuals/portal/30/ag/authctn.htm#754920
One thing that is not specified in the document, you would also need to install samba that comes as a part of the 3 rd party cd toolkit.

  • How does WebLogic 8.1 get the BASE HREF value?

We have a WebLogic 8.1 SP4 server with a Juniper DX load balancer in front. We are trying to get Juniper to handle all the SSL traffic for the WebLogic application. Between Juniper and WebLogic, it would be just HTTP and between Juniper and web clients it would be HTTPS. One of the main issues we are seeing is that Struts HTML:BASE tag is returning the Juniper address as we expected, with the correct SSL port and application context/paths. However, the protocol for this base href is set to HTTP and not HTTPS. Consequently, our pages do not load properly.
I am trying to understand where this value comes from. The underlying code uses request.getScheme() to get the protocol. So, we could "customize" the tags to work around this, but that is a hack that I am trying to avoid. I assume that the HTTP stack that WebLogic 8.1 uses is providing this info from the HTTP request. Does this come from the web browser? How does WebLogic get this to put it into the request object in the web container? We have sniffed the HTTP headers on the web client side and we cannot see where this is coming from.

I remember facing a similar issue with webloigc 8.1 and apache
I dont think its a problem with the tag..
    I think i have changed the transport-guarantee in web.xml
If you have NONE try setting that to CONFIDENTIAL and vice versa

  • How does it work? SuperDrive with double-layer support

    Hi,
Can anyone help me? I own a macbook with SuperDrive with double-layer support. I want to try to burn a dvd with the dual layer, how does this work? Which applications do i need? I have been searching for info on this subject but havent succeeded so far..

Any standard burning application such as Toast (or OS Xs built in burning) will burn a dual layer disk. You don't need to do anything special... it will just see the disk with double the capacity. What you do need to do is get dual layer DVDs. They're not all that easy to find at many retail stores, but they're pretty easy to find online.
