How to call different viewer according its filetype?

Hi guys,
there is a requirement. We write a custom report which shows all the attachments of a project. and the ALV report needs the drill down function too.
So the question is that how it can determine its viewer in pc according its file extension, such DOC calls MSdoc,PDF calls Adobe Reader?

Hi,
     The methods in a view are only accessible inside same view. you cannot call it outside the view or
     in any other view although its in same component.
     If you want to have a method in both views, then create the method in component controller and
     from there you can access the method any where in whole component.

Are you using Forms 6i in client/server mode or web deployed? I'm not sure what you mean by 'try on server application"
Remember that when using a web deployed architecture, a host command will execute the command on the Forms application server, NOT on the client.
To execute host commands on the client you would have to use WebUtil, but that's not available for Forms 6i. Perhaps there are PJC's out there that can do it for you, but I don't want to get in all those details without me knowing if it is relevant for you.

How to call a view from Interface view

How to call a view from interface view (onPlugDefault method) . I was trying to set context of controller but it is not working . What is the work around.

Hi Manish,
An interface view is created for each window that you have, which in-turn has views embedded, one of which is default. If you want to pass data which you have in your interface view, do the following
- Add your component controller in your interface view properties
- In the onPlugDefault method(I assume this is where you have the data available through URL parameters),set the component controller context variables like
wdThis.wdGetComContr.wdGetContext().currentContextElement().setName("John");
-Access these context variables in your view as well by adding the component controller as the required controller
Your default view will appear automatically when you call the application.

Calling different views at runtime based on my condition abap webdynpro

Hi friends,
Could you pls help me in this issue.
I am new to webdynpro abap.
I have an action on my first view.
basically its a sales order linktoaction. when i click it, i have to check a condition.
if process type = A,
then navigate to view 2(different abap webdynpro component's view)
elseif process type = B,
then navigate to view 3(different abap webdynpro component's view)
endif.
I only have experience in calling one view for a action, so i dont have much idea on this how to acheive.
I have this IF condition, on action event.ON that i need to call view of another application.

Hi Niraja,
If you want to pass parameters to a WDA application you can pass them by URL link.
Example: http://...?pass1=value1&pass2=value2 In this case you pass two parameters to the application.
In WDA application you can control parameters in windows, you can add parameters in the plug 'Startup' which names are same as URL parameters, and then you can create notes/attributes in the context of windows then map them to the context of view. In the method of startup plug you can pass the parameters to the context of windows. You can search WDA help by WDA application parameters.

How to call specific view of used component

Hi All,
I have the following problem:
I have component 1 which have two views: 1A and 1B. They are included in one window. Default view is 1A.
Navigation between view 1A and 1B it made with buttons and plugs ("go to 1A", "go to 1B").
I have main component 2 which uses component 1 (used component). Component 2 has view 2A and 2B. I have button "Z" in view 2A which calls method of component 1 and navigates to view 2B (where used component 1 is embedded).
First time I press button I navigate to view 1A, its correct. Then I navigate to view 1B (within used component 1).
when I go back (in main component 2) and press button "Z" again, the used component 1 is open with view 1B, not 1A (which is default). That is, used component 1 remember which view the navigation stayed on.
I nee to always see view 1A first when I navigate with button "Z" (open used component).
How I can do that?

How to call a view without event handler onaction method.

I have develop a WD application. It has three views let view1, view2 and view3.
In view1 one button is there (onaction) which navigates to view2 through outbound plug wd_This->Fire_Out_Screen1_Plg(   ). where Out_Screen1 is outbound plug of view1.
Now view2 appears , I want that after 10 seconds view2 automatically call view3, without action on view2.
I have written like wd_This->Fire_OUT_SCREEN2_Plg( ). where OUT_SCREEN2 is outbound plug of view2, which navigates to inbound plug of view3.
But its not working. Please suggest how to and where to write code to call a view without action .

I have a view activity A that calls another view activity B with a link. In this link the action is set to a method (I use JSFUtils class: http://jdeveloper-adf.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/TGPrototype2/ViewController/src/com/tgslc/defaultManagement/utils/JSFUtils.java):

Hi,
this is because PageDef B represents a binding container that is not active to the time you try to call it. The binding container becomes available when navigating to the page but not before. Instead:
1. define a managed bean in pageFlowScope and expose a setter/getter method to hold the value to pass on
2. Reference the managed bean in pageFlowScope from the attributebinding NDValue property using EL
3. Set the managed bean value before navigating to view B

I am new to web development and I was wondering if anyone knows of a document somewhere that explains the steps o how to incorporate Crystal Viewer inside to app to call crystal reports. I found on on doing this for a standalone application, but don't know if any exist for web.

        I have embedded a view (let us call this view 'A') in standard homepage. This works fine. Now on click of a button on this embedded view I want to launch another view that is also created by me, in the same component in which I had created view A. But I do not know how to launch this second view
     Could you please tell me how to call/launch a view from another on click of a button?

Hello Prafful,
I guess by launching you mean substituting one view by another. It can be achieved by declaring a navigational link in the runtime repository from one view to another. You have to create an event handler on the button and outbound plug in your view using the wizard. Then, on the event handler you call an outbound plug where you trigger a navigation using this navigational link and the view A will be replaced by view B.
A code which needs to be done in outbound plug:

How to separate different views and parts of a single line of business(LOB) universal app for windows 8.1 with many users.

Hello am an intermediate Windows Phone/Store Developer. Am currently in the process of implementing a LOB app that will have three different types users, an admin, a student, a teacher . Depending on how a user logs in i would like certain pages to be exposed
to them and the rest to be hidden. The app will also store data temporally on a local db then sync regularly to an azure database(Can the recent entity framework 7 that supports store/phone apps allow code first databases or are there features still not fully
accessible in WinRT apps)...This i believe can handle but also kindly point me out to existing implemented resources/examples i will appreciate very much.
What am finding problematic is how to consume different app data stored by various users logged in for these different views. Will i need an asp web api is it really necessary cause i want to avoid it cause i have about three months to do it. I do not want
to create three different apps and one ASP Web AP, i want one single app and an api if possible, i know windows usually sandboxes apps hence app to app communication will be hard if not impossible. So my question is, is it possible to implement different
user session management with a login (Windows Live ID) which i can abstract various parts of the app from them depending on the users login id in the app. E.g How can an admin logged in the same app as the student have access rights to certain pages in the
app that a student will not see. How do i route different users to certain pages and can isolated storage store these persisting as a setting.
How can i know which login id belongs to which of the three users? How do i then assign different access to different controls of the app with their id,provide custom views routes,access right,session management. I think i can do these without an ASP Web
API is It wise? Building pages in the apps is easy but i want users to see different views of the app instead of one standard app depending on there login id, how can the NAVIGATION URI be used here. How can azure and features like active directory,azure mobile
services. I know i have repeated the same things over and over and these might be complex for a free advise but as a windows dev these is my one stop shop. Any one with a view on how to approach these kindly show me the best directions. Thanks guys in advance.

How to upload different views of customer master data using LSMW-IDOC

I need to upload customer master data using LSMW Idoc method for my client. Now customer will have different views like main view, Sales data, Company code data, Partner function data etc. And except main data all other data can be multiple for each customer. We are going to upload data from tab delimited .TXT file. Should I propose different LSMW for upload different views for the customer from different .TXT files? or we can upload all the customer related data (like main view data and partner function data )from a single .TXT file. Kindly suggest which one in convenient and how we can prepare the data file in both cases.

convinient is the method that you can handle.
but as the guy who loads the data you have to load the data like they are available, like it is convinient for others to prepare the data.
In general there is no problem to use an IDOC method to load a customer master with multiple comany codes and several sales orgs in one shot.
the data can be in one source file, but need then to be maintained in a certain way
Example1: all data in 1 structure
GD1 - CC1 - SO1
GD1 - CC2 - SO2
GD1 - CC2 - SO3
in this case the GD (general data) is redundand in each line which has different Company code data or different Sales Org data
Example2: all data in 3 sturcures but one file
GD1
.CC1
.CC2
..SO1
..SO2
..SO3
Example3: data delivered in 3 files - you join the files in LSMW, they must have a common identifier like the old customer number in the beginning of each file
FILE General data:
GD1
GD2
GD3
file Compamy code data:
CC1
CC2
CC3
file Sales org data:
SO1
SO2
SO3
LSMW is flexible and can handle each of this scenarios, are you flexible too?

How to call parent view event or method from popup in java webdynpro

Hi ,
I have view in my webdynpro component. I created a button, when i click i am opening a popup window.
In side popup window i am doing some search criteria. I want call a parent view method from popup window and populate search results in parent view table control.I can able to pass the data through context mapping. But i want a custom method where i want to write a code to populate the table control ( i don;t want to use the wdDoModifyView() method).
Please help me.

Hi,
     The methods in a view are only accessible inside same view. you cannot call it outside the view or
     in any other view although its in same component.
     If you want to have a method in both views, then create the method in component controller and
     from there you can access the method any where in whole component.

How to call a view in parent thread

Hello Friends ,
I have a scenario in my application where I have two DCs let DC A and DC B . A view in DC B is called on an event in DC A with the help of plug for which DC B has been added in the used Components of DC A . Now what I want is to call a view in DC A on the occurrence of an event in DC B and for the same I need to add DC A in the used components of DC B which is not possible as same is leading to the error of Cyclic Dependency. IS there any way through which this can be accomplished .

I think it not possible reason is this is some thing like loop with out ending
I request you to create one face less DC and make it as component usage (embed used component) in both DC's A & B
now you face less component will act as data transfer component
