How to capture System MAC address On internet

Hi,
I am doing internet based application. I want to capture user system MAC address when ever user is logged in to my application over internet. So please tell me how i can capture users mac address. please help me.. with out this i cant i go further in my process. please help
Regards,,

I think you're out of luck--the IP packets that come to your web server don't contain the MAC address; that would only be available on the LAN where the NIC resided. All the other components of the Internet don't use the MAC address (that's actually what the "Inter" part means).
I assume you're wanting to track unique users. You might try cookies or something of the like.
Best of luck.

    i'm having the same problem (and because of that i claim Apple did really forgot the 'Computers' part when they changed their name, i had to install Leopard just to see i cant change the mac thus connect to my lan, thus i had to install tiger back, grr)
    in another thread i've found this alternative to en0 ether xx:xx... :
    sudo ifconfig en0 lladdr 00:00:00:00:00:00
    but i remember trying it without success, anyone has a clue how to change the MAC address in leopard? on top of it - why on earth would they downgrade a system? is this one of these 300 new features? sweet :P

    Hi Bruce,
    Out from what I can find on this network card is it not possible to get the mac address without a OS. I would recommend you to get/burn a Linux/Ubuntu live CD/DVD and run a Ifconfig in there.
    Hope it helps you.

  • How to change the mac address of thunderbolt to ethernet adapter?

    Hello everyone,
    I am using Macbook pro retina display 2013 version. I have bought a thunderbolt to ethernet adapter in order to connect my Macbook to LAN. But in my area there is a shared line and I have to clone their mac address to my Macbolok. I could not change the mac address of my thunderbot to ethernet adapter. Can anyone please tell me how to change the mac address of thunderbot to ethernet adapter step by step??
    Thanks in advance.

    Open terminal and type the followings;
    1) sudo ifconfig bridge0  ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx(it will be your new mac address)
    2) Type your password to confirm
    3) ifconfig bridge0 |grep ether (to see if change is successful)
    PS: *This should with your thunderbolt adapter, but its not working usb to ethernet adapters without installing required drivers.
           ** You may need to do these steps every time you boot your mac.

  • How to verify VPLS mac-address forwarding

    I think VPLS know how to forward by mac-address. but how to verify it ?
    for example I show mac-address vlan 100. But I can not find a command to verify How mac-address is forwarding ?

    Hi,
    VPLS provides the medium to for a E-LAN, and in Cisco implementations, the MAC learning is not actually done by a VPLS instance.
    This can be best explained by an example.
    PE(SW)-A ---- PE(SW)-B
    PE(SW)-C
    Now these three PE nodes under VPLS, are only provided the medium to connect to each other using P2P PW forming a full mesh.
    For simplicity you can assume they are three switches connected in the above manner using copper. So this copper connecitivity is provided by VPLS.
    And at the end of the day the end nodes learn mac addresses using the conventional method of flooding and learning. So you wont find any VPLS specific commands to see what mac address is the VPLS instance flooding. As its only providing a medium for connectivty. And the flooding is done by the end nodes. as they treat the VPLS VC as one of the outgoing port.

  • How is that the MAC address (BIA : Burn -in -Address) not yet exhausted?

    How is that the MAC address (BIA : Burn -in -Address) not yet exhausted? IPV4 is exhausted and we are moving to IPV6!

    MAC addresses are 48 bits long. That is 65536 times the IPv4 space. IP addresses need to be globally unique while MAC addresses only need to be unique on their local LAN segment (LAN/VLAN).
    Here is a good link explaining it more in detail:
    http://blog.michaelfmcnamara.com/2013/03/are-we-running-out-of-mac-addresses/
    There is also a link there that suggests some edits to the 24-bit OUI assignments:

  • How can i fix mac address?

    I have a question.
    some of application see mac address for authorization.
    but azure pc seems to change its mac address when rebooting.
    how can i fix mac address if rebooting ?

    Hi Munyamunya;
    A very good question indeed.
    As of now MAC address cannot be kept persistent permanently there are several scenarios where a mac address can change, A. Service Healing B. Manual Stoppage of VM from  the Portal.C. Upgrades/ Downgrades of Cores etc..
    As specific as it gets if you would like the MAC to be persistent only for reboots, you could create a Regional Vnet and this would keep the MAC intact only on reboots, however service healing and Stopped Deallocated VM are bound to let the VM loose their
    mac address.
    A permanent solution would definitely be beneficial to all, you could pass on  your valuable feedback through this
    link.
    Hopes this helps.
    Warm Regards

    I should've added more details ; I'm interested to find out, from an IPhone app, if a certain BT device is in the proximity of the phone. The verification involve checking the MAC address or the name of the device.

    Errors are captures in many ways and at different stages,
    like alert, sld errors or even sxmb_moni or even with visual administrator trace, I am not sure of your requirement but if you want a centrlished point to access all these error you may refer a good example as,

    The two weblogs are my favourite and best resources but still if you are missing, please elaborate if you are getting any errors or other fesible traces as to why your alerts are not coming in inbox.

  • How to capture System.out, done by another program

    Hi All,
    My application runs other application in back. How can I capture system.out.println() written by another application & display via dialog box.
    Like :execl() or execv() function in C runtime library. Where every printf() message printed to passed buffer.
    Thank you,
    Avin Patel

    You can create an InputStream from a started process. Then read all the bytes from the inputstream and write them to an outputstream (like System.out)
    Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(COMMAND);
    InputStream is = p.getErrorStream();   //Or another stream
    int[] buffer = new int[128];
    while((read = is.read(buffer)) != -1){
    System.write.out(buffer, 0, read);
    }
